I think Big Break was relatively cheap and had perfect timing. They were probably paying peanuts because the competitors were mostly starving mini-tour players. Imagine casting a golf show and accidentally finding another Tony Finau. 

 

It would be a more expensive show to produce now because the youtubers would either want some access to the footage or the ability to film their own. The media rights sound like a nightmare, but I bet it could be done and would be extremely popular. I would actually like to see one of the youtubers driving it, like the Bryan Bros. They literally have their own course, they could definitely make it work.

Have flights, different formats (shamble, scramble, stroke play, whatever) and have something you can watch multiple episodes with multiple content creators. I feel like its close with what the PGA is doing with the Creator Classic stuff, but the PGAT can't get out of it's own way, even when a golden goose puts its butt right on their face. 

 

Just don't make it "live" again. The difference in production value between their filmed/edited content and the live content was pretty drastic.

imo, youtube golf should be occupying the audience space (not physically) that TGL is trying to reach. 

 

we need pros to be pros, not entertainers like TGL is trying to make them. 

 

leave it to the entertainers to do that for you.

Co-signing this one. His "inside the ropes" content on the KFT tournaments is crazy good content. 

 

I've also recently started watching Nik Neal (GolfStrongHitBombs is his YT handle), a former college player showcasing his competitive play in SoCal. He's a solid golfer and fairly interesting to watch.

I thought the latest BDS/Bryan Bros content from Black Desert has been fantastic.  Good mix of golf (Bryans) and hilarity (BDS)

Watching those videos now and they are really good. Grant seems so much more watchable to me when he's playing with them. 

 

BDS is my number 1 right now for the sheer entertainment factor, I do still watch some of the Rick Shiels and Peter Finch videos as well. For instruction type content I like Danny Maude and Me and My golf, I don't watch all of their content but I have picked up some good drills from them.
