There's some fresh solid info here -

That write-up echos my experience with the Shogun Red..."There’s something in the feel of this shaft that rewards a good, hard swing and makes you want to hit another shot.  It’s addictive..."

I did a quick comparison on S3 data vs the website of the Shogun Red vs Tour Z RPG.  Much softer handle and tip at same flex.  If you use M5 shogun (x) vs M4 RPG (stiff), they are much closer, only slightly softer handle and tip

Basically sits between the handle stiffness of the Tour Z RPG and the TZ5 and Tz6.  It has similar tip and mid stiffness vs tz6 with stiffer handle stiffer than TZ6

vs the Tour Z RPG where the lightest shaft is 70 degrees, you can get close profile and lighter (62g) weight

I think i've seen some videos where tipping accras have less of an impact but curious what happened for anyone that has tipped these

hit the red m5 the other day in a fitting.  it is similar profile to ventus black.  Felt a little more lively to me, easy to swing but think tip was a little softer so less consistent.  Didn't try the green which I assume is closer to Ventus red.  Def worth a shot for those in the zip code and looking for something slightly different

edit:  spoke with a fitter who recommended because its softer going up in weight to the 72 (i tried the 62).  food for thought for those that get an opp to try it.  Currently gaming the RPG Gold 462 M5.  trying to get a hold of the m4 to close the face a little more

I've got it narrowed down to Shogun and TPTs... actually preferred the Shogun (Red) over the TPT (feel wise), but everyone keeps saying you can't say "no" to the TPTs. The TPTs do seem a bit tip heavy...  I'm not a high speed swinger (100MPH) but the Red did not seem like too much shaft. Regarding the TPTs, the story I keep hearing is everyone fits one more flex (e.g., 18 instead of 17) than the fitting tool indicates. The Shogun Red is described accurately. Very stable across the entire profile, but you can still feel some kick....

I don't think they feel like the Ventus at all...

No other comments than this is accurate in my experience. I fit TPT shafts for ~5 years. They are very stiff feeling for their recommended ranges. It wasn't uncommon to move down 1-2 profiles from what someone typically fit into. I had a 16 MKP for a trial and it was rigid, felt nowhere near like the 4* of torque they claim it had.

I'm gaming the Shogun Red 62 M4. LOVE IT! I"ve been an RPG guy for years and the Shogun is very similar to me but with a more noticeable kick to it. Still very stable. I tried the Ventus Black for a short time but did not like the feel at all. The Shogun feels and performs better for me.  I have even picked up a few yards over the RPG that the Shogun replaced.

Contemplating having a Red 72 built for my 3W.

I wish I was a better player.... more consistent swing speed. So, I went back and tested them head to head on 2 good swing speed days. For perspective, I was swinging between 98 and 103 MPH. I'm old (68), that's my excuse. Bottom line, I was most efficient with the TPT. While my swing speed is inconsistent (good days and slow days), my smash factor is always good, so finding out which shaft is best for me (i.e., most efficient) is not hard to figure out. I was looking at a distribution of 30 with smash factors of 1.48, 1.49, 1.50, so the answer was clear. The 18 low was the winner.

Unfortunately not yet. I've played 3 rounds this year 2 with the TPT Nitro and 1 with the Accra TZ6. I have the green shogun in for my upcoming round on the 28th. Will definitely report back

Was able to get a rang session in today with the shogun green. It seems to launch much higher than the TPT and TZ6. super windy today will report more after my round Wednesday. Feels fantastic though!
