Toulon Putters

Toulon get so little love here in the UK, despite how good they are.  I've got two Atlanta's - a standard one and a garage one.  It's the garage that's in the bag.  It's fitted with the 30g head weight (wish I could get 25g), a KBS CT Tour shaft and a SuperStroke Tour 1.0 grip.  It's an excellent putter, but if I could change one thing about it, I'd have less offset.  The 1 shaft offset is just too much and I wish it had 0.5/0.75.  With that in mind, I'm actually looking at the Alcatraz Mini right now and would love to hear thoughts on it and if anyone has played both.  There's no stockists, so it would be a speculative purchase and that's quite risky at this price point! IMG_1590.jpeg.a58ffdaac48928d1a4ec73b2343b1c34.jpeg

All of the Toulon mallets in the 2025 collection have full shaft offset. I have the Miami and I love it. Rock solid.

Alcatraz Mini is 5/8 shaft offset

I'm hoping someone has tried it and an Atlanta so can compare the two

Call me crazy but I think these are a step up from Cameron.  Having had two I actually prefer a modern Toulon over circle T putters.  The quality is insanely good.  You get personalized service from the team the brought out some of the most important innovations in golf.  I'm glad they're offering us premium putters and hope they keep doing it.  Never experienced such good service in any industry, ever.

If you can find what you're looking for, they make amazing used buys.  I also agree that I'd have one over a Scotty (in fact I have two of them!).  Great putters that are under-appreciated.

I may have a problem, I really love Toulon putters! Most recent addition is a Magnolia putter. Chocolate Chicago with sight dot is my current gamer. Silver mist Chicago is my travel putter. Magnolia has been out for several fun rounds and feels great and performed well. I can take any one of them out with confidence.

Did it to get to the head weight I wanted. Was planning to get lighter weights but they played well with just the toe weight so never bothered getting the lighter weights. Not sure if it changes the COG much.

I was looking at getting an Alcatraz, but I was curious if anyone had experience with the Studio Style Fastback 1.5 and have rolled them both to compare?

Have rolled both, it depends on the size of the mallet you’re looking for. Fastback 1.5 is more of a mid-mallet, Alcatraz is more of a standard size mallet. I went with the Alcatraz, it’s a great putter. With Toulon you’ll also get exceptional customer service that you likely wouldn’t get anywhere else.

I don't have a comparison picture with the Alcatraz but here's one with an Atlanta/Odyssey 3 and a Jailbird mini. The Alcatraz is larger than the Jailbird.  IMG_1302.jpeg.ac6d1fbb435e9a83adee131107ab7156.jpeg

Figured I would jump in here. I have been a long time toulon atlanta fan boy and recently just partnered with Toulon to be able to rep them with my company and sell them and I cannot say enough good things about the entire Toulon family. The product is phenomenal but the people are just as good. I think that face milling pattern is the best out there.

Thanks for the replies. It seems the Atlanta/Alcatraz Mini would be a more comparable size then. How does the face milling on the Toulons' feel compared to the new chain milling on the Scottys?

I can only compare the new Scotty insert to my older Atlanta and I MUCH prefer the feel of my Atlanta.  Why Scotty didn't use a milled face rather than an insert is totally beyond me.  I love the versa style alignment and the thin face of the Fastback, but that insert really spoiled it for me.

Not 100% sure of the comparison, but against the deep milling on the phantom line, it's still soft but gives better strike feedback. The deep milling on the phantoms was too muted for me. I've stated this here before, feel like the 2025 Toulon milling is the best face milling on the market.

Basically the face milling has a soft feel, nice deep sound at impact. Hard for me to explain I guess. When I get a little off though I can tell instantly where I struck it, even on the larger Alcatraz head.
