I joined the Toulon putter users group this week when I ordered a 2025 Alcatraz counterbalanced putter.  The customer service from Toulon was incredible!  I talked with both Jon and Sean before placing my order.  They were incredibly helpful and I placed my order Wednesday morning.  They did some custom engraving and I received the putter Friday.  I took it out today for the first round and it was absolutely awesome.  The quality was incredible and it rolled fantastically.  While this is my first Toulon, it will certainly not be my last!

Looking at ordering the same with double bend shaft. Love the way these look. I noticed the heavy head option added weight that totaled 375g. Is this correct? I play my jailbird at 380 and have messed with heavier weight.

24 hours after ordering and I have tracking for my Alc mini. Almost 3 weeks after ordering my Scotty 5.2 and still no tracking. Great job Toulon!

I have a feeling you are going to like it. I have rolled a good 50 putts on my big moss while on a conference call this afternoon, fantastic. I am actually kinda digging the Toulon mid size pistol, solid grip.

Vegas showed up yesterday, super quick turnaround and, as everyone’s already mentioned, tremendous customer service from Preston and team.  With the exception of the 2024 first run, have had every iteration of the LV and a handful of garages, and to me, this one may be the best looking. Looking forward to getting it on grass.

Hey! Any follow up to this? how are you liking your new putter?

Sorry, posted updates in multiple threads.

it is the best feeling, most stable putter I have rolled. I have probably hit close to 300 putts after last night on my big moss, and just want sell the others except my garage Portland.

I will be on the course Sunday, but this is everything I have desired in a flatstick.

Glad to hear the positive feedback! Softer or firmer than diamond mill?

To me there is not much in it, this feels really good and gives excellent feedback, can tell where you miss when you do, but still rolls and feels pretty good even then.

I play em heavy, and the single separate weights out on the perimeter make it more stable than my Portland with center plate.

I am in love…..

I play the toulon/odyssey 22 las vegas DB with deep diamond milling

Been fortunate to have tried just about every left handed putter made by toulon

Ill start by saying this - they are all great. Every line is thoughtful and beautiful. They all have great feel and they are all pretty soft in my opinion. The amount of "soft" is very minimal between the odyssey/toulon line, the 24 line and now the 25 line. Also, the amount of soft varies between each head style. For instance, i felt that the las vegas in 24 line was softer than the 24 alcatraz. Same in 25 line

In my hands the las vegas CH 24 line feels the softest and most "alive". Its my favorite feel. unfortunately, i couldnt get used to the CH neck so it didnt make it in the bag but my god a center strike felt amazing

.

Forgiveness - the 24 and 25 line definitely are more stable than the 22 run due to the new aluminim plates on bottom and distribution of weight to the perimeter. But not by much in my hands. The 22 line is still pretty darn stable

Aesthetics - they all look great at address. They sit well on the ground and dont really "twist" at address. The chocolate, anthracite aregreat contrast with the green and a ehite golf ball. The 25 line is more "rounded" but i actually prefer more boxy and sharp. Its just whatever fits your eye. The chicolate is more "out there" and more unique wheras the anthracite is more traditional.

Customer service - ill fight anyone who says there is better customer service than toulon family.

For those who are having a hard time paying 600 bucks for a putter before rolling it - there are stock putters at carls golfland you can try if you sre in michigan. Im not sure if any other stores carry it . I drove to carls golfland and rolled them for a while. Carls golfland also has 30 day full refund if you arent in michigan.

This thread is awesome. I love seeing everyones putters and hearing the joy in everyone toulon journey

Vegas

I don’t want to into my fitting assuming I’ll fit into something but these 5 are my favorite. Everyone posting the new ‘25 putters is so cool to see.

If you wouldn't mind see if you can find a carbon black LV while you're there ;) :)

Edit: just noticed you have an awesome Toulon bag now.  Props

The fitting was so cool. I was told that my stroke is quite good and it was just a matter of finding something to create a tighter window for consistency. Using anything in an H1 neck is good but we noticed 20* of toe hang worked the best. The only caveat to this was that when I tried the Alcatraz Mini H1, no luck. We couldn’t quite put a guess on it but it just didn’t jive well. My delivery wasn’t as good and I missed right every time. Put the Atlanta or Vegas in my hands and it was automatic.

I’ll post some more images and a write up tomorrow or on my flight home Wednesday.

The bag was so incredible to see. I immediately put my clubs from my Cobra Vessel into this bag and took it out to Torrey, which was incredible. I only snuck in 9 but it was definitely worth it. Made par on 3,4,6,8, and 9.

We tried the following:

1. Started with my La Jolla (fairly good)

2. Austin and Hollywood (about the same)

3. Atlanta H1 (improvement)

4. Vegas H1 (similar but Atlanta still slightly ahead)

5. Alcatraz Mini H1 (not even close, 3 and out)

I had my Atlanta built up the exact same spec wise as the one I tried in studio. It was perfect. “Preston, let’s just do the same as what we used in my fitting.” He agreed no doubt. I’m hoping to get out for another 9 holes of golf. I must have brought the rain with me to the west coast!

Also did you try the Diamana shaft or just steel?

Funny you mentioned the alc mini wants to go right because my miss was almost always left with my blade so maybe that’s why it’s working for me.

good luck with the weather out there !

Oh yes! The only thing is that we found I’m quite receptive to changes in overall weight and swing weight so we kept it the same as what I used well in studio. We talked about how adding the weight back in the head could change it up a bit. I ALMOST went with the 105 in Atlanta but decided to just go full spec with what I used well in my fitting.

The COOLEST thing was having Sean pop in to watch me putt and provide some feedback but he also let Preston just do his thing and we talked about what was revealing in the fitting. It was so incredibly cool. I’m obviously a golf nerd, so this was the best moment ever. Ending the day by walking nine at Torrey was also a nice top off to my already full glass.

I’ll grab some images from the studio and ship later this afternoon! My Atlanta will be in play this morning. We have a window!

At then hq do they give you an option to adjust the alignment?  I like then Atlanta but found I do better with dots instead of lines.

looks like the Charleston is the only dot.

Was yours a VIP fitting or do they allow bookings?

I guess you could say VIP although I only help in a very minor way in getting you guys some knowledge at times.

They will be opening their studio in the future to people who can book fittings and have a putter built same day. It’s going to be very cool when it’s all completed. Please be sure to take your current gamer with you.

Definitely not a regular thing they do but sometimes they do stuff like that. Although I’m a good customer and advocate of theirs, I won’t even ask for it.  I wouldn’t say impossible but you never know! Worth inquiring about it.

Atlanta is such a nice shape. I’m happy that I got fit into one. It feels and sounds GOOD.

  • MerryTex changed the title to Toulon Putter Users - Toulon Fitting Update 3/12
12 minutes ago, MerryTex said:

Opening your device to browse the web and find something you love is quickly becoming a tradition amongst the fine folks of GolfWRX. We feel an itch we must scratch. Golf is what does it for some, and when it comes to special equipment, more importantly, putters, people lust after them. This is exactly what Sean Toulon has set out to do for golf equipment enthusiasts. For those who do not know much about Sean, he is widely known in the golf industry. He’s had a hand in overseeing operations at Taylormade as well as Callaway/Odyssey. I’ve been blessed to join in on the fun at Toulon Golf and just tag along like I’ve known them for years. I will forever be grateful for the opportunity to be with the team at Toulon the past two days.

My Trip Out West

I get crazy ideas and I run full speed ahead, especially when it comes to something I want. I was fortunate to be able to create a relationship with Preston at Toulon Golf. We discuss golf, equipment, industry, and sports teams. It’s the best and I cannot be more thankful for what’s transpired over almost a year. I got fit into an Ai-One Milled #7, didn’t like it, and reached out to get a Vegas H1. About 10 Toulon putters later, here we are. We planned on going out to see them, get a fitting done, putter built, see Ranger (the new shop dog - wonderful boy), and play some golf. The first day I was up from about 3 AM CST to around 1 AM CST on Monday. What a day. Flew out to San Diego, got in my car, drove to Torrey to get on the list, went to Toulon HQ, did the fitting, drove back to Torrey, and got to play! I only played the front nine holes but good lord was it worth it. You’ll never guess the gentlemen I was paired with - THREE TEXANS! I’m also sitting behind the father/son duo that also had a Fields Ranch hat on as I did on Monday at Torrey - you couldn’t script this.
Torrey was so awesome. I walked up and was just in awe. While the course itself doesn’t get stellar architecture reviews, the course is beautifully conditioned, sits along the Pacific, and provides golfers from around the world the opportunity to try their luck on one of the toughest public tracks in the US. I was all in. I knew I would only get to play nine holes but it was brilliant. The company was fantastic, I walked, and we got all nine in. I made par on 3,4,6,8, and 9! I also had a pair of doubles so there’s that. It didn’t dampen the mood.

Toulon Golf

Monday was so crazy. My phone was on like 10% when I got off the plane and I scrambled to the nearest store to find a USB-C charging cord - “Is there a Ralph’s around here?” After I got the phone charged up, got on the list at Torrey, browsed the pro shop, I got in touch with Preston because I figured we could shift things around on the fly and do the putter fitting on Monday instead of Tuesday. The weather was about to turn sour starting Tuesday morning. We figured we could do the fitting, build the putter, and POSSIBLY use it on Tuesday. Things weren’t looking good though. I came in the door, met up with Preston, met Kathy (lovely lady who keeps tabs on things for the crew), gave Ranger a few rubs, and then was surprised with something I did NOT ever expect. Preston did tell me that I would have something to ship back home with me and I was going down the list of things that it could be. Head cover? No, I could bring that in my bag. Already have the polos and pullovers. It was a Vessel/Toulon bag with embroidered logos and my name on the ball pocket. Good lord. I now have to sink every damn putt I look at to be worthy of the bag. I guess if I don’t, I’ll have to just carry my clubs by hand or just stop playing altogether. We’ll see lol.
The fitting was so cool. The putting platform can move and provide level putts, and pretty much any breaking putt you would find on a course. Super cool stuff there. We rolled my La Jolla first. Decent numbers we captured, Preston also told me that I have a solid stroke. After that, we put the Atlanta H1 in my hands and saw improvement. We also tried the Vegas H1 with similar performance but I kept looking back at Atlanta. It spoke to me when I was in the room. I also tried an Alcatraz Mini H1 - NO LUCK. It was the weirdest thing to be similar to the other two, but we just didn’t like it. Result was the Atlanta, 35 inches, stock weight, 70 lie angle, and 4* of loft. The increase in loft seemed to help my delivery and more consistency.
Small details like this make big impacts. I made the first 15 footer I looked at on number 1 green at Pauma Valley with Sean looking on. He gave me a fist bump and said “I think that’s the one!” What a moment, y’all. I’ll also leave with a funny moment when Jon saw me blow a putt 6 feet by the hole and said, “Man, that putter sounds so good though.” We kept replaying that moment anytime someone would miss a crucial putt. A good joke we’ll have to keep alive that’s for sure.

By the way, I am coming home with three more putters - Atlanta H1 ‘25, Alcatraz H1 CB, and a Hollywood Proto with a black shaft. The bag is definitely heavier on the plane.

The Impacts of Relationships in Golf

We often seek out relationships with others in golf. We seek a solid group of guys to play golf with on the weekends and build relationships with people we’ve never connected with, but it’s through a common connector - golf. I’ve not got the big groups of guys who get together more than a handful of times each month. I think that’s what I’d like to have at some point but our schedules get crazy. I’ve got my crew but it’s tough to align days that work for everyone. I’ve been fortunate to have a distant friendship with Toulon Golf. I watch from halfway across the US what they are bringing to the golf industry with thoughtful design influences, yes, I said that. People still think that they just copy what’s been done before, but it’s more than just making subtle tweaks to legendary silhouettes of putters throughout the history of golf. Toulon Golf is about connecting golfers to their products, but more importantly, an opportunity to provide people with great attention to one thing - you. I was on site for two days and learned so much about the family, the business, and what’s to come. I cannot express to everyone here how special I was made to feel and provide my thanks to the folks of Toulon Golf. I look back at one point in my life where I wanted to experience things like this and now it’s here. I am a small part of what they do, and yes, I pay for my putters. I also had a hand in providing some photos for them, so I guess you can say that is something to put towards paying them back for the incredible experience. I was fit, played golf with them (14 holes due to rain), spent time at the office, and had the opportunity to speak to Sean about why I created this thread - I want nothing more than for you all to be able to experience the great customer experience at some point. Fittings will happen for the public! It’s going to be special when it’s all built out and complete. They want to do it right. They’ll stand behind their products and now the experience that will be provided to people soon.

If you have a question, reach out to them. Tell them Anthony sent you their way.

So funny you say that. One of the guys in the Pauma pro shop said I looked like him and Sean said "He's got the Max Homa look with the Scheffler footwork!"

I'll take it 😉
