Toulon Putters

I absolutely love my 22 San Diego at 32'' with the Scheffler grip.

 

I'm very late to the Toulon party but i'm well and truly converted. Beautiful putters and I love the way this feels over an insert!!

@Toulon what is the size comparison between the LV and the Alcatraz? Is the Alcatraz more along the lines of a Jailbird for footprint?

 

They both look to be about the same on the website but that might be subjective.

Question for those that have (or have tested) the Las Vegas with the H1 hosel. When you set the putter behind the ball, does it sit square or does it open or closed and require a manipulation to square it?
 

I’ve created this putter a dozen times on the website but being a lefty in the middle of nowhere, I haven’t had one in hand and at $600+, it’s hard to pull the trigger and this is my main concern. I love the look! Thanks for any feedback!

It should sit square; if not, I'm sure they'll make it right. I'd find it hard to imagine they would even send one out that way but sometimes things happen.

Its not a garage model, just regular retail. Call them and have them switch it out for you.

I don’t think it is an issue of quality control. Rather, toe hang, putter sole, and putter balance plays a big part in this. For example, I soled one of the new phantom putters the other day and without applying pressure to keep it square, the putter sat wide open. 
 

Part of the reason it’s been so difficult for me to go away from the Spider X is because it sits so square without manipulation.

With the front weights and rounded sole it sits square for me at least.  I had the same issue where I built the putter probably 30 times so I was right with you.

Often times if a putter sits open, it’s because the loft is lower than whatever loft it had as standard. If closed, the loft is higher. Same thing happens with woods as well.

 

A mass produced putter off the floor in a shop doesn’t always, or even often, come perfectly specked. Same with all other clubs as well.

Other than paint fill, what would make it "garage"? Are they a totally different head or shaft? I have zero experience with Toulon products until now.

It would say Garage on the bottom or have the Garage logo on it.

I like the look of the new Austin but I can’t tell if it’s slimmer than my Newport.

Gaming a Toulon Vista right now. Absolutely loving it. The only complain would be that it feels a little too light when I'm playing on slower greens at my friends club. Works perfectly for my club though (typically a 11-14 green)

I ended up placing my order about an hour ago. I am beyond excited to get my hands on this putter. I went with the Vegas H1 with the following specs:

 

34.5 inches

3° loft

69° lie angle

Tiffany Blue midsize Toulon grip

Mitsubishi P105 shaft

El Duderino headcover (ordered Thursday)

 

I had a great conversation with Preston and HUGE thanks to him for providing me with his time. I know how valuable time can be and I want to thank him and the entire team at Toulon for their dedication to their work and customer service. Since getting fit into a Vegas H1 style back in March, I have been searching for a fully milled head. I'm glad that I found Toulon, created the conversation, and was patient enough to end up ordering one the way I wanted. This putter will be a beautiful addition to my bag and I can't wait to put it to good use.

Is it the chocolate PVD finish? Really curious to see how that looks in hand.

It looks nice but I was hoping it would look more like the chocolate finish on my Vista. The Vista is 904 and it looks lighter, more polished and shiny.

Yep, more muted. Probably more playable but isn't particularly eye-catching.

I have owned and used 12 different Toulon putters over the last 5-6 years. My current gamer is a 3rd generation garage Chicago plumbers neck and still have a Palm Beach, 2nd generation Chicago Plumbers neck and 2019 LV in the rotation.

 

I think Toulon has the best head shapes, milling, feel and balance of the big putter brands. Fit and finish is also top notch and head covers are magnetic.

 

Each generation has been an improvement on the previous generation. Change to full face milling and charcoal finish was a big improvement between first and second generation. Really wish there was a second generation Long Island. Change in face milling from 2nd to third generation was a more subtle improvement. Hard to tell the difference unless you hit the same putter from each generation back to back. Not sure about the weight changes as I don’t have the equipment to measure the impact on MOI. 
 

I prefer a steel shaft over the stroke lab but this is an easy change and the most of first and second gen putters are right at my preferred 348 gram head weight with the A7 weight.

 

I’m sure I will add a model from the latest collection soon but I doubt it will replace the Chicago with a plumbers neck. Only thing that might do it is a Chicago with a neck like the Palm Beach 😀.

This is a gorgeous looking putter. I've had the alcatraz top of my list after trying a jailbird mini for a couple of hours on the green.

Why did you decide to list it?

I'd want 35" and not ready just yet, going to try a spider for a couple of rounds and a few others. If it's still up when I decide to buy something i'll consider it!

I feel like I push a lot of putts with it. I’d rather use my Vista if I’m going to use a Toulon. It’s heading to eBay later in the week.

The Chicago with the flange line and top line dot looks nice. The New York City looks a bit large, closer to a Squareback 2. The Chicago with a plumber’s neck is the Toulon I would be interested in.

I have 2019 Las Vegas flow Neck, this one for me works Joe Toulon did the finish & i love it. My golf partner has the latest version which is nice but i think my feels softer could be the ball Pro V-1X.

Noticed the garage was still open on the Odyssey website with a handful of finishes --midnight black, charcoal, and Tour Chocolate.  Curious if it's the tour Chocolate same finish as the 2024 Toulon line, just applied to the remaining Odyssey Toulon heads.
