To you guys that have the Alcatraz and the Atlanta, which do you prefer and why?  I have the Alcatraz now but thinking about selling and picking up an Atlanta.

I only have the Alcatraz, so I can’t offer a comparison, but I’m having great results with it and don’t want to look elsewhere. Why are you thinking of switching?

I like the Alcatraz ok, it's really a beautiful putter.  I need to spend some more time with it, but after a few days on the course it's not going to beat out my Las Vegas.  I putted with a Golo for years and I really like the smaller mallets.

Makes sense. I went through a couple broomstick options and couldn't get used to faces with inserts or aluminum heads. Have 2 rounds with my Alcatraz broom and have been very happy. Guys in my group Sunday couldn't believe the speed control. Didn't make everything, but hooped a downhill 30 footer with about 3 feet of left to right break. Most 2nd putts were tap ins.

I am a huge Atlanta fan. I have not played the Alcatraz though. I have had 3 Atlanta’s over the years. I like a small/medium mallets or a double wide type blade (Chicago) for a few different reasons. These 2 head shapes fit different needs and flow together if I want to mix it up. A few pages back are some pics of my current Toulon’s. I tried medium to larger Toulon mallets in the past, but they just did not suit me mainly for speed control, visual and size.  I spoke to Preston about buying a bit larger mallet since I love my Atlanta’s. He recommended the Alcatraz mini since I was thinking about trying a Miami or Daytona. He sent me some pics of the Atlanta and Alcatraz Mini in DB for a visual. If I was going to go to a larger size head shape Alcatraz mini DB would be my next purchase.

Good luck with the journey!

Wish I could use a mallet or mid mallet. The only one I have tried was SC Phantom 5.5, however, I could never get speed/control down. Was always hitting way too hot and blasted passed the hole. Same thing even when testing in stores

Most likely a weight issue. Not a mallet vs blade issue.  Guessing your preferred putter is significantly lighter

Something different

Fell in love with the tour chocolate on 24 release but it didnt have double bend. Tried the double bend on the 25 but my eye likes a square alignment feature, not rounded. (Super picky, i know)

Found out that odyssey still makes toulon garage putters. It kills me that the toulons dont actually have anything to do with this anymore. They arent the ones making it. I wish i could have given them my money but at the end of the day, the putters gotta work for me. Im a tool, not jewels kinda guy. But i like it when my tool looks good too 🤣

The diamond milled pattern is the OG now but still amazing IMO

La Jolla is back! The 135 is it. I’m not saying the 105 is bad but the 135 is perfectly balanced. Speed control has improved with it compared to the steel shaft I got initially.

I got my new putter today and tested it out. I wanted to try arm lock and Preston made this happen. New York City built to 79 degree lie angle and 7 degrees loft with 25g head weights and my initials engraved in the bottom.

He let me order the la golf shaft and jumbo max grip shipped to them and they put it together for me.

My speed control was much better and I’m really happy with my first Toulon putter and the incredible customer service to make this happen. I also got the light blue head cover to match my bag and ai smoke driver and woods but didn’t get a pic.IMG_5387.jpeg.b884394eb9011336734ea564dd9b512d.jpegIMG_5389.jpeg.caad0aceb8188fa83d1535999745c172.jpegIMG_5390.jpeg.0667ba60f935e54c587554d6323340f3.jpegIMG_5391.jpeg.38bbcb312338f67aacff9f41f6997c2f.jpeg

Thanks lol. I’ll take this over buying a used sik armlock any day hahaha. They are so overpriced on eBay and this worked great. They really do everything they can to make their customers happy

I have had a SIk putter. The feel of the Toulons is far superior IMO. They also look much more premium. Every person who sees my Miami comments on how beautiful it is.

That NYC build is pretty sick. That's awesome that they made it happen for you. If they can do it, they do it. That is what I love about them. They just make things happen for people interested in their putters.

Degenerate Post Warning:

while I have a few extra putters in my possession I thought I would post a reference photo comparing toe hang of various hosels. My iPhone calculates the degrees a bit less than what I posted, (I figure Toulon is more accurate than me).
Anyway I hope this is beneficial to others👊🏼

How do you like this compared to the ct tour?

I don’t mind the ct tour feel, but I play my putters at 35 inches and with the ct tour and an 80 gram grip I’m at e7 swing weight.

im okay with a higher total weight as long as I can get a more balanced feel.  I was thinking diaman 105 but am open to the 130

The 135 has made it feel even sweeter. The weight is exactly what I was looking for. I have played the 105, and while it’s a good upgrade, the 135 was what I’ve been searching for. The Diamana shafts make a good feeling putter feel even better. It’s hard to describe but it’s like it maximizes the feel the head can produce.

You should look for a used Portland. I have the Atlanta, Portland, and Palm Beach and the Portland is my favorite. I even have the Atlanta and Portland head covers which are hard to find today.

Did you consider the 2.0 flex in the 135? how much was the upcharge from Toulon?

I didn't consider the 2.0. The 135 in 1.0 is better than the 105, for me. The upcharge is $220 for the shaft.
