Toulon Putters

The Toulons are amazing and go above and beyond in the customer service department. Had an Alcatraz blackout and really struggled with it. Should have known I can’t putt with anything heavier than 340 grams so it’s totally my fault. Got lost in how incredible it looked. Sold it for a deal to someone that enjoys heavier putters. I’d still support that company 10/10 times purely on service and quality though. If they ever adopt a return period like lab does I’m jumping back in to try a different model. Such a great putter company

Got the oversized grip today, pulled & saved the midsize, trimmed 1/4” off the butt end, blew on the new one.

 

It’s perfect now, went downstairs & made 8 12’ putts in a
row on my mat👍

 

The oversized grip is the same size & shape as the one that came on my 11, exactly what I wanted.

Just used my First Run Austin for the first time on the course today.  What a great putter.  Feel is excellent.  Love the single site dot and the finish looks great.  Headcover is excellent as well.  They really did a great job with the new line!  It's going to stay in the bag for a while.

I nearly snagged an Austin but was lucky enough to get a Texas. I'd still like to get one as I love the color of the First Run putters.

Most recent addition. Garage San Diego with slant neck silver mist finish. Need to find some 5 gram weights to get the head weight to 348. Will just play it with one 10 gram weight in the toe for now.

Had sold a bunch of stuff and have been looking at various nice putters, mostly small mallets only because I already have a few blades and I grew up playing a Rossie. 

 

I could choose several of the Toulon putters. Went with the first run Atlanta. I’ve rolled the previous versions and like them, but I really like the subtle changes to the ‘24 model. Kept catching my eye so decided to get one. Corresponded with Preston on it and he was great and helpful with the details.

My First Run Memphis has now seen a longer stint in my bag than any putter has in years. My speed control is also as good as I can ever remember it being. I'm so glad they went away from the deep diamond milling. The new lighter milling is perfect.

Anyone ever have issues with speed control, heavier head and the diamond milled face?

No, my Le Mans is 33.5" and has 20g weights.  I actually prefer the heavier head.  It also has the black steel shaft and not the stroke lab.

I figured, since switching I have really struggled with distance, even on short faster putts... just hitting it to hard. Thought it might be from the weight.

Can you take the weight out or go to a lighter one to see if that helps.   Everyone has a different feel to their clubs.

i'm finding that's probably down to the shaft, not sure about you.

 

I typically went rebar on my putters. I'm recently in the other end of the spectrum purely from experimenting and having some kick in my putters (like a driver) I find this gives me more range to work with, where i'd be previously limited to 20 yards. (~60ft ?). I find this gives a more softer feel to the putter and softens the impact.

 

Got the SSM converted into graphite with arm lock belly grip, will try to upload some photos later tonight. 

1 of 1 for sure, disappointing they don't give you a decent headcover with such a limited putter though.

Just want to hop on the "great customer service" bandwagon. Have been interested in the Las Vegas H1 for a bit and had a couple questions along with a small request. Decided to reach out to @Toulon after reading this thread. Preston answered my email within 5 minutes and answered all my questions.  I made the order, it's being built as I type this and shipping out same day. Pretty incredible customer experience and super nice guy - definitely on the Toulon train from here on out.

Not playing one at the moment, but feel Toulon is by far one of the best brands for the price point. Looks, quality, feel, etc.

I play all of my putters at 33”, steel shaft and a head weight between 347 and 350 grams. My Toulon putters both 2019 and 2022 versions offer great distance control. I really like the Diamond milling.

Seeing all these great pictures motivated me to take pictures of my current Toulon putters. 2022 slant neck San Diego, 2022 plumbers neck Chicago, 2019 plumbers neck Chicago, 2019 Palm Beach and 2019 Las Vegas.

Thanks, I agree the chocolate finish is my favorite. I’m sure I will pick up a first run sometime soon. Your Las Vegas looks great.

Here it is, hope it meets your approval. Please forgive the graphite shaft and the Bettenardi grip 🤭 I ordered Winn and got the wrong one delivered, but feels good, using it on my other putters.

Played a round with my LV H1 last night.  It has such great distance control after I bumped the weight down to 350 degrees and put a PP58 grip on.  Great putter.

Still love my San Diego with the Scheffler grip - kept it in the bag all summer and never felt as confident on the greens, ever.

Texas and Austin. Beautiful putters and I’ll say this, if you want firmer, go with something like the milling on the Texas. The Austin feels slightly softer and it could be due to the heavier head weight but I love it. As similar as they are, they aren’t the a copy.

Couldn’t resist. First run San Diego. It is slightly shorter heel to toe than the previous version. Feel is softer too.

My new First Run Atlanta is in. Gets its first round on Friday. Have had it out for practice and it is just what I was hoping for. Simple alignment, easy to aim at the target, nice stability and it is not too large. Not much deeper than a wide blade, really, and it is compact heel to toe. Beautiful look.

I would kill for this milling on my Le Mans. This milling and heavier weights would be dynamite IMO.

It feels great. I love the diamond milling too but this just feels a little bit better. Only one round on the course so far. My results were mixed. I hit all my lines but left almost every putt 8” short or missed just below the hole. No 3 putts but had a bunch of tap ins for par and no birdies. It gets another chance tomorrow.
