Oct Roadtrip in NE

In the process of planning a Fall, solo road / golf trip (first week of October) this year to New England (this will be my first time going north of Boston). Have done a bit of research and come up with the itinerary below that I was hoping to get some input on. While I am trying to play quite a bit of golf, I am not trying to pack it (along with driving) into every minute of the day, so I will be missing (what sounds like) some great spots including George Wright, Red Tail, and Portsmouth CC.

 

• Sunday - Fly into Logan Airport in the AM, potentially play Crumpin Fox on the way drive to Williamstown
• Monday - Chill day in Williamstown - coffee, food, walk / hike, short game practice at course | What are best spots to eat / grab coffee / drink?
• Tuesday - Walk 36 holes at Taconic, stay in Williamstown | I'm assuming unaccompanied guests can get tee times on a Tues
• Wednesday - Chill morning, drive to Keene, rest / relax / dinner | good food spots in Keene?
• Thursday - Play 36 at Bretwood (walk 18, ride 18), stay in Keene | from what I've read, this seems like a hidden, very affordable gem...is this a good stop?
• Friday - Chill morning, drive to Kennebunkport, walk evening round at Cape Arundel (optional) | any food or places to walk suggestions?
• Saturday - Chill morning, walk afternoon round at Cape Arundel, stay in Kennebunkport
• Sunday - Return to Logan airport

 

In addition to some of the questions above, let me know if I should consider some other courses or swap some out. Any insight is much appreciated!

Both Crumpin Fox and Taconic are great courses and good examples of NE golf.  My only real comment is once early October rolls around the weather really turns to hit or miss.  You state the first week of October so you should be ok but if you have any chance to stay in September your odds of good weather goes up.

36 holes/day is possible in early October, but realize that if you get any kind of frost delay you may not finish that second round. It's right around that time of year when frost starts happening in the central and western parts of the state.

I’ve not played there but I do know there is a very good 9 hole golf course near Keene called Hooper. One of the world top 50 9 holers.

Great itinerary. Some buddies and I did a fall golf road trip a few years ago that included Crumpin-Fox and Bretwood. Really enjoyed both courses. My only suggestion might be to hit The Ledges in York, Maine on Saturday if you get an afternoon round in at Cape Arundel on Friday. (Sunset will be just after 6:00 pm that time of year in Kennebunk, so you'll want to tee off early afternoon to get 18 in). York is south of Kennebunkport, right on I-95, so it's on route to Boston.

How did this trip eventuate? Did you play and see all you planned.? Being keen on such a trip myself I am very interested.
