Velocore+. Anyone love it?

It will probably take some time for the tour players to start putting them in their bags.  Remember, the AD VF didn't really gain any real traction until Tiger and JT put them in their bags.  Before then, it was mainly played by the tour pros playing on the various asian tours.

I think it's better than the OG Blue.  It's smoother and slightly more stable when I tested it right after it's release.

I have ended on the VC+.  Came from VC Blue 6S, over the mountains and through the woods back to the TSR4 and VC+.  Yes, I like the feel and the dispersion I am seeing with it.

I sold mine. Was an expensive experiment. I like the TR better.

Im a TR Blue player and i love everything about it, but here I am on wrx so you know what that means.  I reached out to Fuji about the new shaft, which of course I want to try - was told compared to the TR 6x, the new shaft in 6x would be a hair smoother and Id see a touch of launch and spin.  I am highly sensitive to the feels (anything other than 115g or so iron shaft mucks me up) so I wonder about what I would see.

I havent been able to find one yet, Im sure I will try one.

Went from a TR Blue in my 3W to the new blue and am very pleased with the results. A little more launch with no noticeable gain in spin. For my swing it feels smoother/better.

What prompted the switch to lighter and stiffer?

I have considered this in hopes of increasing swing speed.

I once fell victim to that - when all the 39g shafts were being introduced with the notion increased CHS would realize big distance gains.

That difference in shaft weight totally threw my timing off and I sucked bigtime - like CU under Dorrell level suckage.  I need to stay in the mid 60s for shaft weight for my swing.  Took me a minute to get the rhythm back.

G luck here - hope your trial is better than mine.

The numbers on the tip and butt stiffness looked similar but the 5x being 6g lighter caught my attention with increasing the swing speed as well.

There are a handful of players on Tour using the Velocore+ right now (Straka, McCarthy, etc).  It will probably become more and more popular once the Red and Black Velocore+ shafts are released.

The Velocore+ is a little heavier than the original and a little softer, although the overall profile is the same.  Everything I've heard is that it feels the same.  I saw some robot testing and they showed a 4 yard gain in yardage as it launches a little higher and spins a little lower than the original.  But everything I've heard of is that the dispersion is noticeably better.  That being said, the original is still a great shaft.

Homa just put the Velo+ Blue in driver.  He previously had the TR Black.

They don't feel the same.  Velo+ Blue feels smoother.  I had the OG and tested the Velo+ a few months back.  That's also what all my guys either have it or tested have said as well including my head pro who has one in driver and my client who's a tour pro that has one in his 3 metal.

I like it a lot. Overall I loved the feel of Velocore shafts ...still I could see why some thought the OG felt a little soft in the butt. But to me the solution being the TR made the handle unresponsive and not flow with the rest of the shaft. Apparently enough players felt the same and Fujikura filled the gap with the +. Feels just right to me in the driver now, but in the fairway I still use the OG red as I want that shaft to feel softest and highest launching in the bag.

I'm coming from the TR red in my driver, so I'm not seeing increased launch. I liked that shaft a lot too but wanted something a little less mid bend feeling, which the TR exaggerated. Blue + just gives me a more linear shaft feeling I was looking for.

Hope this helps.

Have you compared it the the blue TR? Thanks.

TR blue doesn't feel quite as smooth and has a stiffer handle making it feel a little more linear.  Launch/spin and ball speed were all neck in neck with both.

I absolutely love it. Have experimented with HZRDUS RDX black 6x, Small batch yellow 6TX, Velocore OG Black 7X and 6TX, loved both velocores more than the HZRDUS.

Now I pulled the trigger on a 6x velocore + as thats all that was in stock at my company. I tipped it 0.5" to make it closer to a TR and more of a X-stiff plus. It is insane. The Plus feels smoother than the TR and firmer than the OG. I swing at 115 cruising up to 120 mph. I have never hit it straighter, longer, and more piercing than this golf shaft. I love love love it. My transition is pretty aggressive, not insanely but definitely more aggressive than smooth. If you know what specs you need, its worth it and the + model, despite minimal pro adoption is really really good.

Its slightly softer in the handle section I have heard? I couldn't honestly tell you the difference. Whatever it is, its really nice, feels like it loads so effortlessly but handles my max swings like a boss. No complaints. Ive seen 290 carry shots like butter, and amped it up to 312 carry on a couple of instances and it handles it all effortlessly. The feelings that I can get my desired output without reefing on it. Its giving my HZRDUS numbers but I don't have to unleash my swing. I can just hit the ball with what feels like a good solid hard swing but not overswing and the results are magic. The HZRDUS RDX which don't get me wrong, hits bombs and controls dispersion, never felt like this, and i never felt that sound barrier break and the whistle of the ball like I do with the Ventus. Also middle contact went up like crazy.

Playing 45.5" playing length Ventus Velocore + Black tipped 0.5" in a TSR 3 9 degree head. (Swing speed 115-120)

I have Ventus Red Velocore+ 6S (tipped 3/4”) in my DS-Adapt LS 10.5° driver and 7X (no tipping) in my DS-Adapt LS 3W. At 53 with 106-112 mph swing speed, I’m hitting smooth effortless bombs longer and straighter than ever. Fujikura is on to something with the VC+

I played tr 6x blue, then ended up trying and bagging blue+ 6x 2nd half of 2024. Loved it. Into 2025 I've started feeling my age a bit so dropped to blue+ 6s and it's been money. Love everything about it.

Although I’m on Golfwrx, I actually don’t partake in equipment changes very often. Once I find something I like I set it and forget it. Such is the case with the OG SIM with Oban Kiyoshi I got fit for in 2020. While my swing mechanics have changed significantly for the better since then, I was still here 5 years later playing the same thing.

Long story short a month ago I fell into a driver fitting and new driver build. I informed my fitter about my preference in feel and responsiveness in shafts, professed my love for the Oban, and figured he’d just pull that to try in a new head. Instead he pulled the AD VF and the Velocore+ Blue. An hour later it was clear the Velocore+ provided better feel, numbers, and dispersion. We paired it with a Ping G440 LST head. I got to play with it for the first time this weekend, and compared my Arccos data from my last round with the SIM to my first round with the Ping/Velocore+ :

IMG_4245.png.c48b2ff668b3b4923cd6d9fdc9d8faa0.png

IMG_4244.png.7668b625eef3532255dd9a3a042e1224.png

Obviously because we’re looking at two different heads the comparison isn’t apples to apples. But overall while the highs are highest with the SIM, so too are the lows the lowest. The Ping/Velocore+ is just consistent no matter the strike and swing, and I think there’s value there. Also, on these two days I had two lost balls with the SIM while even my worst shots with the Ping/Velocore+ were still very easily in play. I may get curious and pick up a Velocore+ for the SIM just to see the difference, but until then the Ping/Velocore+ stays in the bag.
