Switching from T100 to KM-700

I had the chance to play 2.5 rounds with brand new T100s last week - stock set up with s300 dynamic gold shafts. I have to say I absolutely loved them. My best iron play for in two years. Just the swing weight and how pure they felt. “The club was doing all the work”…
 

I stopped playing my KMs half way through last year. I honestly have no idea how I wound up with LA Golf 80s on them. Had to have been a bad day when I was fit for them. Just way too light. Can’t feel them and no power in them. 
 

All that to say - I’m thinking of trying basic s300 dynamic golds on the KMs. Any thoughts or input? (Beyond go in and get fit properly…witch is what I will do)

 

Hard to say if they'll work the same as your experienced with the T100s but worth a shot. I had a love/hate relationship with my T100s (AMT White S300), but now I love my T150s.

 

I might recommend checking out @Howard_Jones posts on DG shaft weights and soft/hard stepping DG shafts. The Miura heads are built amazingly but on the heavy side. I can't find his post now but will look for it - that really helped me get the feel I wanted using AMT Whites in other sets I've built.

My km700s are absolute money. I have been trying to convince myself that my ball striking isn’t good enough for them and been testing them against my zxi7s and cb302s and after finally pairing my km with the right shaft and swing weight they just seem perfect. 
 

In my opinion they feel better than the 302s but it could be shaft related.

What swing weight(s) did you find made them work best for you? I can feel my set is not right, at least for me. I've made a mess of them with different amounts of tape on different heads. Just need to start fresh with them. Going for a refit tomorrow...

Here’s the charts I found for the AMT series. I can’t recall if it’s 1:1 with the standard DG line or not.

 

Sharing as I haven’t tried the DG S300 straight into the KM heads. I have a feeling that might lead to higher than expected SWs at standard length/loft/lie which is what happened with my other Miura blade builds with similar head weights. Just something to think about.
 

I actually built my KMs to total weight vs swing weight with the MMT105S now per the table above as that produced the best results but your mileage may vary. 
 

Might be worth trying one in 6/7iron first.

Just back from having a go at it with the fitter. Was a mixed experience overall. Wound up hitting way too many options - first shafts on the KMs and then irons in general.

And ironically - the best I hit? My KMs and the T100s... I am not a great player (10.5 at the moment and that's my high water mark). That I suggested the T100s had the fitter saying out loud "those are played on the tour..." But even he could not deny the cluster was tightest with them, albeit about a club shorter, which I am not sure I mind at all if I hit my target more often. 

 

As for my KMs - I have all sorts of tape on different clubs - have swing weights from D2 to D9(!) I think I am just going to even them all out a little heavier (D4 across the set) and see how it goes from there.

 

And now having both played the T100s and been in the fitting bay with them, I know at a minimum I hit them clean and straight more often than not. It's maybe a little unlikely that I hit them well given my level of play, but they seem to work for me, so that's a real option I'll consider.

So I picked up my set of KM-700’s yesterday. I got them shafted with Axiom 125x shafts, never had graphite iron shafts but they felt really stable in the simulator. 
 

I’m coming from Titleist T-100’s, hopefully I’ll get to play a round Sunday and I’ll give a report.

Been gaming the KM-700 for right at a year, put them in the bag over my TC-201’s. Don’t see anything kicking them out of the bag anytime soon!

I am currently  playing tc201 and love them.  I have always loved the look of them.  What made you change?   Can you do full comparison ?

Everyone's preference may vary, but in my experience of replacing numerous irons, the km700 comes out of the grass very easily. I don't know if it's because of the sole shape. It also has a soft feel and responds accurately to impact. I've been satisfied with the results after playing many rounds for a year.
