Titleist GT Driver - anyone fit into it?

Outdoor fitting today. Mere 67 year old mortal here with 100 driver ss. Tried lots of combos and the GT2 with Ventus Red built at 45 inches with a 2g weight in the back gave me the best numbers. Comparator was Cally Smoke Max Triple Diamond with Ventus Blue +. That driver has served me well in its short life span but the GT is a better fit for me. Should have it 2nd week of August

Booked a driver fitting at PGA SS in dirty Myrtle Beach next Monday. Surely they will have the new GT line to throw in the mix.

I would check to be sure.  The authorized fitting accounts are supposed to get the heads and shafts at the end of this month, but that's pretty close to your time there.  Wouldn't hurt to verify with the store.

Does the "more solid/muted" sound more like a carbon driver?

I actually called them today b/c I had the same thought, and was told official fitting release is 8/1, so I moved it to Friday 8/2.

8/1 is what they're saying.

I really don't think so - it's more like a classic persimmon. They might be the best sounding drivers I've ever hit - but there are some like the Triple Diamond drivers that I haven't tried.

The Triple Diamond Max comparison with the GT2 was what I really wanted to hear, especially since I wouldn't be able to try it as a lefty.

Thanks for letting me know.. from what I've heard it launches about 1* higher and spins maybe 100-200 RPM less. What are your findings?

Picking up my GT3 8 15 and 18 tomorrow. Heads arrived at my fitter today (early, he was expecting them in 1-2 weeks from now).

Did you try the Ventus TR Red as well and what was the difference versus the Red?

Thats the embargo date when all the specs are released and and all the YT reviews can be posted 

 

Retail availability is August 23rd.  Which is when most pre orders that weren’t part of the early invite fittings will be shipped.

I did a fit yesterday with our local Titleist rep.  Compared to my TSR2, I gained about 4 mph ball speed with a GT3 (same shaft and loft settings).  I was told mid to late August as well.

Posted about my fitting in the other thread, but here’s my head to head comparison of the TD Max vs GT2. These numbers came from the end of my fitting where I hit 3 ProV1’s with each. 
The TD Max shots were slightly pulled, which contributed to the lower launch and height, but they were squared up.

Sorry for delayed response.  I ended up with TR.  I was not surprised as I have always gotten along with the Ventus Red.  We started out with Tensei Blue in various weights, Hazrdous, Ventus Blue and ended up with the Red.

I got identical numbers with that shaft compared to the ADMJ 6x in my tsr2.  Very solid.

I'm not sure what the difference is in the Titleist shaft and aftermarket? Titleist weights end in 5 where aftermarket end in 0. The black seems to be the same. Could be just a weight difference to give perception of a difference?

I'd be curious to see what TD Max in 10.5 would have done against the 10 degree gt2...

 

Any idea why your angle of attack changed between the two?

It's the same with Ping too. The shaft weights shown on their website differ to the ones on the shaft manufacturer sites......
