Titleist GT Driver - anyone fit into it?

The GT 4 does sound different than the 2 and 3.  It will even sound different with the heavyweight in the front or back position.  Think of it like a bell or differently shaped glasses with different water levels being lightly struck.  Different shapes/weighting = different sounds.

For sure! That makes a lot of sense! Based off the numbers I've shown, would you think its best to stick with the GT4 or go with the GT3?

The GT 4 was slightly faster for me. I also prefer the smaller head size. I would recommend the GT 3 if you need help with a directional miss or eliminating a side of the course that could be corrected with the GT 3's moveable weight.

For sure makes sense! I thought it was a plug-and-play from the TSr4. I just love the sound and feel of the TSr4 over the GT4.

Just curious when being fit into a shorter shaft , 45" playing length, they been adding mostly +2 weight or are some in a +4?

My fitting result was +4 in a 45" shaft, but I prefer a little heavier swingweight anyway.  A "standard" addition of weight would be +2g for 45".

I have the itch for a GT3 but refuse to pay over $700 for a driver head (or nearly $1000 with a good shaft). 

 

When all the first adopters churn them for the new Callaway or Taylormade in January I will be glad to take one off your hands.

For me, I prefer a D3.0-3.5 swing weight with the driver and I play mine at 44.75. For the GT3, I was fitted into the grey weight (-2g). For those who are interested, here are the rest of the swing weights I measured for the GT3 head! 

 

GT3 10 Driver with Tour AD VF 6x (44.75 in)

No weight: C8.9

Gray weight 6g (-2g): D3.2-3.4

Red weight 8g (Standard): D4.4-4.6

Black weight 10g (+2g): D5.6-5.7

Blue weight: 12g (+4g): D6.6-6.7

Gold weight 14g (+6g): D8.3-8.4

That is interesting. I just demoed GT3, 10*, D4 setting, +2 gram weight, with Tensei 1K blue 55S and it swing weights to about D3.5 at 45".  wonder if it's a little lower in swings weight as I believe the Blue 1K 55 even though it doesn't say it has SFW.

Ordered GT3 9 degree, Mitsubishi Diamond BB Series 63 Stiff shaft.   In fitting this setup was giving me 15 more yards of carry alone.  Now I’ve just been waiting almost a month to get it.  wtf.  Why is this taking so long.

The difference in weight might be due to the shafts were playing. When I tested the swing weight for the GT3, I was using my Tour AD VF 6x playing at 44.75 which weighs about 67g. It possibly could be the 8g difference between our two shafts.

Just got fit for the GT3 Driver on Monday. Ended up in the 9* head with Tour AD-UB 6S shaft at standard length, +6 gram weight in H1, C-3 setting. Was a blast getting to work through my first full fitting as I have really only done some TM and PING demo days in the past.

Another GT3 buyer here. Ended up with a 10* with HZRDUS Black Gen 5, 6.0.  Dispersion was easily the best of all the shafts I tried, feels like it was made for me. I should get it in a little over a week.

I attempted a fitting and just didn’t get along with either the GT2 or GT3 in the indoor Trackman setup(super low spin). Anywho, this is WRX so I bought the GT3 10* and started plugging in all of my shafts(Ventus/Accra/Brava/TPT/GD) to dial it in. So far, the winner is the TPT Power 17 Hi and the GT3 on A1 with the T1 weight setting. To me, it feels like a far more forgiving and powerful TSR3 and I really like the sound. I think the face lines/contrast really helps me find the center of the face at setup as well.

I was fit into a 45” but with -2 weight.  I’m probably the outlier

I was fitted the same as you with the -2 weight! I just play it 0.25 in shorter than you haha!

I had my fitting yesterday for a GT2.  I ended up with Ventus 6, playing 45” with +4 weight.

Just bought the GT2 and it is superior to my TSi3 I've been gaming.  Help my understand the weight changes.

I tried the GT2, GT3 and GT4. I liked the GT2 but at times my spin was too high. The GT3 was perfect. Spin in the 2000 range and good numbers all around. GT4 I was getting comparable numbers but less forgiveness. I went with GT3 to replace my TSR3. I can’t believe the gains I got from this driver. Slightly lower, more penetrating ball flight, better performance against the wind. The feel is more powerful yet still solid titlest feel. Overall a winner.

Anyone else preordered and have similar dates? I've seen elsewhere on the internet about some orders already being pushed into Sept, and some orders have already delivered.  

 

Feel like I need to provide an unfortunate update here. Club came in on 8/23, during my *second round* with the GT3, the head went flying off.  Disappointed to say the least. Really hoping Titleist is going to do the right thing and replace this club as this it total and complete BS.

Sorry for the obvious question, but was the shaft part of the Titleist order? Looks like a bad glue job, or someone didn't prep the shaft tip/adapter properly.

Sorry to hear that. Titleist is usually great with their quality control, but I'm definitely seeing a lot of miscues with the early GT deliveries. Hoping for the best when my GT4 finally arrives.
