Titleist GT Driver - anyone fit into it?

Got fit into a GT2 at 10 degrees yesterday, D4 (10.75). AV Blue 55 S. High launch, low spin. The good ones are really, really good. Made some objectively bad swings during the fitting and didn't feel like my best stuff at all, but the bulk of the results were playable golf shots. Reason for the fitting was that I lost a bit of speed and something changed in my delivery - my previous trusty combo of G425 Max at 9, Ventus Blue 6s was just producing knuckleballs. 11.5 launch, 1900-2000 spin. Not ideal. My GT2 setup was 14-15 launch at 2300-2400 spin. Lovely. Having the 10 head lets me crank it down if needed too.

I also tested G440 Max (very, very good - the only other option in contention), QI35 (misses were really spinny), Elyte (same deal, really spinny misses) and DS Adapt (couldn't get along with it). The QI35, Elyte and DS Adapt only had stock length shafts so I was hitting those more on the heel, to be fair. Previous driver setup was at 44.75", I got my GT2 at 45" and thankfully could demo both the Titleist and Ping at that 45" length. Shout out to 2nd Swing. Ended up going with the Titleist because it looked, felt, and performed the best of everything, and while I love my Ping drivers, it felt right to make a change.

Super excited to be in a GT2 this year. Everything about it was excellent.

Congrats. Sounds like a great fit for you.

I am moving from TSR2 to GT2 and very excited to benefit from the minor changes Titleist made in these heads.

I’ve been playing golf for almost 60 years, and the GT3 is the best driver I have ever played.

Best looking driver ever, the simplicity of the design and how it looks is incredible. Surprisingly forgiving, workable, and the feel and sound are perfect.

Perfect!

It was the same top 2 for me but the 440 LST. Ended up with the GT2 with a tensei black but I’m going to order another shaft to try as my misses are on the heal as well at 45.5” so probably going to try 45”.

I recently got the the GT3 and its definitely lower spin than the TSR3, i alos find it to be a bit more anti-left.  I dont notice any extra forgiveness or sound change.   The biggest difference by far was noticed when i changed the shaft from a TPT to a Diamana WB63X and a VF6x ( totally different shafts ).  I find the WB63X to have a smooth feel like the Ventus Blue and the VF6X is harsher like a Ventus Black.

I totally agree with this. Idk why but I never got along with the VF

Having thoughts to upgrade from my Cobra Speedzone, is it a worthy upgrade to the new GT drivers? And has anyone have experience between the GT2 and GT3?

Fit into the GT2 11 degree.

I'm a low spinner and the fitter and I both thought that the GT1 might suit me better after it was released, but a follow-up fitting confirmed the GT2.

GT1 really spins, the 10 degree was barely under 3K on centre strikes and well over on low strikes.

GT2 was really good at keeping a "2" in front of the spin number at all times.

Definitely worth the upgrade. Went from Speedzone to the TSI, then to Tsr, ant finally GT3. All the Titleist drivers were an upgrade. For me, the Titleist drivers were more forgiving and better ball speed.

I hit the GT3 with a bottom heel 30 yard peeler cut off the tee on a par 5 yesterday expecting it to have gone absolutely nowhere. But when I got to the ball it was sitting ~ 275 off the tee and center of the fairway. That ball is DEAD on most drivers and maybe goes 250.

Also hit an over the top hack high toe ball expecting a nasty Knuckle ball draw. Felt so bad I didn’t even look where it went. Playing partner said “if thats a miss I’ll take it” and I saw it settling down the right center of fairway.

Have never had a driver perform like this on one of my worst ball striking days. GT3 feels like trash off center, but the performance is approaching legendary status.

Was playing for the most part of last year callaway TD with ventus black 6x (been playing this shaft for years now), I liked the driver sound wise and feel wise, but from time to time I would get "spinnier" shots (user error) and felt I could find something a little bit more forgiving. I was bored towards the end of the season so I went for a driver fitting. I tried them all with different shaft variations, I thought that ping could be a a winner with the lst head but it was way more "spinnier" for me compare to the gt2. I ended up with a gt2 9degrees with a ventus blue tr 6x. The driver seems to be spinning less on mishits and more forgiving compare to my TD. I've been hitting bombs, with it. I mean long a** carries(for me 310+). Overall can't wait to hit it this upcoming season 🙂

Gt2 longer and more forgiving compared to TD Callaway, for me.

Recently got a GT2 with Tour AD VF 6S and this is quite a strong combo. As advertised, the spin has been knocked off a couple hundred RPMs coming from a TSR 2. Love the staple Titleist clean look compared to other OEMs (I had been playing AI Smoke TD Max as a second driver on and off). Swingspeed between 105-107 mph with launch between 14-17 degrees and spin 2200-2300.

Is going for the GT2 worth it or sticking with the TSR2 is fine?

Unless you want to knock a couple hundred rpms off your spin, sticking with the TSR2 should be fine.

If you’ve been fit well for your tsr2 you’ll be fine. I’m playing tsr2 and gt gave me a couple of yards but no better dispersion. Very expensive way for me to gain a couple of yards 🤣

My local PGASS is stocked with drivers from every major brand except Titleist. They only have maybe 2-3 total GT drivers. Additionally, they have only these driver locked down to where you can’t even take them off the rack without assistance. No other brand is locked. Crazy. Anyone know what is causing the shortage of stock and locking them?

Must be unique to that store.  Ive recently been to a few different pga ss and all of them had normal amounts of gt drivers and non were locked down.

I stuck with stock weight at 45" on my GT2. Adding +4g during my fit didn't help me, so we left as-is.

I ordered at 45 with a plus 6 weight.  I was able to try that out during the fit and it improved my efficiency without any loss in club head speed.  I also play a heavier grip so it helps keep some head feeling.

Do you have the driver in hand?  You can take the weight out and verify what the weight is

I'm curious if anyone actually sees the speed increases that GT3 claims it can offer?

I've done 2 separate fittings and ball speeds have been consistently higher on GT2.

Maybe it just fits my swing and strike pattern better but I was surprised to see the separation.

GT2 was between 3-4 MPH better on ball speed, no matter the GT3 combination.
