I just don't think I want a 430cc head.  But I will have the option to try everything before making a decision outdoors.  And yeah, if the GT4 is more like a 2.5 with the weight in the back, I'd rather try to make the 2 a 2.5 and gain the 30cc of size.  I know that's miniscule, but.  I want a 2 without the spin.  lol

totally get what you are saying with the 430 head, it does look very slightly smaller from my Qi10 LS, but after a couple of tee shots I never thought about it again.

Also, the new vertical alignment on the face almost draws your eye straight to that point and not the overall shape though. thought it was a gimmick, but REALLY like it.

I would second this. The weight in the back of the GT4 is impressively forgiving in my limited experience, launch is more what I would expect from a 2 head as well.

I would bet it is a good bit more forgiving than your TS3...

Just watched this too and seems like they're all just a bit better in all areas:

The 2 and 3 look very similar.  You have the fortune to try all three.  The GT 3 is very forgiving across the face.  You can likely manage spin with different shaft options.  The 4 sounds different from the 2 and 3 based on size, shape, and weight position.

You have a sweet putter.  I’m also playing the WB and picked up about 3-4 mph in an to apples comparison with the new GT 3.

Thank you and also saw your notes from the other thread. I'll be putting in the GT3 order today. Your results on GT3 vs TSR3 sound consistent with what I've heard elsewhere, and are a material enough improvement for me at least.

Thanks about the putter. I picked it up a few months ago after playing anser/newport style blades for 20+ years. I think I'm averaging 2 fewer putts per round solely from The Boss being easier to align on mid range putts. I'd highly recommend for anyone looking for a milled mid-mallet.

My pleasure.  Enjoy the new driver!

I am still kicking myself for not trading for that putter on a sweet 2-for-1 deal through BST.

I took my GT2 3 wood for a test run tonight at my range and wow is it good. It’s one of the best feeling heads I’ve hit in recent years and I’ve hit most all of them 😂

The ball flight with the Tensei Blue 1k was so good. It loaded well for me and it gave a mid to mid/high flight. I cannot wait to get out on the course with this. I’m tempted to try to drivers now.

I felt the same on the GT2 3/5, maybe the best feeling I have hit, will be here next week. Personally I didn’t think any of the drivers felt as good as my TSR4, and didn’t beat it out in numbers either, saved some $$.

As posted previously. Was fit into the GT2 10.0 and have been playing it since July 8 with great results.

But because this is WRX i ordered a GT3 in 10.0 snd it arrived yesterday.  Popped my Autoflex in it and the results were fantastic.  Actually a bit longer than the 2 and got more CHS and ball speed.  And those were slight mishits as i only had one smash above 1.47.  So stll more potential there.

Below is a comparison between my 8* GT3 and my 8* AI Smoke TD. Both heads were set to standard settings, A1 & N/S, and have the same ‘24 Ventus Blue + 6X shaft playing 45”. I do have the heavy weight in the back of the TD, because spin can plummet on poor strikes. Also, I tested using the new PXG ball.

IMG_0178.jpeg.79d4722ac6bb06bbdd43fbdc9d1b6ebd.jpegIMG_0175.jpeg.c05fb1c1474da36e3c7fe26e09bc925f.jpeg

Both heads are awesome, but the GT3 is in my bag. Personally, I prefer the feel and sound of the TD, but the look and performance of the GT3 wins out.

Final note, the TD does sit much more open and I believe 1.5* flatter. As such, I need to be mindful of my swing so I don’t lose the ball right. The GT3 appears to be dead square and I felt like I could swing vs steer the driver. Depending on what you need these either driver can be an absolute weapon.

This is want I'm looking for lol. Comparisons with AI smoke TD with GT series. I'm getting fitted on tuesday and I'm thinking it would be hard to kick the AI smoke out of the bag.

Noted TMAG fan boy for years - played all their drivers for the last 10 years, have a 2021 UDI 790 2 iron in the bag which is my weapon of choice for anything under 350 yds , feels great and absolutely punishes the ball , got it in a stock set up with the HZRD black 105g x.   My 3w’s have always been TMAG (Current stealth 2 with Accra TZ5 100m+ , best 3w I’ve ever put together )  with a brief stint on Titleist TSi3 3w which was OK .

Drivers played (before these several generations of TMAG gear ) recent Stealth Plus 8* , Stealth 2+ 9* , TSi3 9*, TSR2 9* and TSR3 9* , probably the longest of the long of that batch was OG Stealth 8* with either a OG Ventus 6x black which was a range and launch monitor monster, sprinkle in a Ventus Blue TR 7tx which saw the most playing time.    An OG Diamana LTD 70TX as got great results as well , with BS in the low 180’s .   The OG black 6x was the best data results but I would jump on it on the course , totally the Indian not the arrow.

Broke the face on the OG Stealth (center crack - no cold range balls or rock flights )  , had another OG stealth come apart , then received a Stealth 2 , TMAG Customer service was great each time, though I was fortunate enough to have a back up driver while the CS replacement route took its course.  To be truthful , the TMAGs were always a bit longer for me , but I grew tired of some of the quality issues I was incurring.

Swing characteristics ; AOA +3-4* , fairly neutral path, ill swipe a little outside in swinging for the fence (re constructed shoulder @ 44 yrs old probably not the prettiest of swings ) Driver CS ~116/7 most days, last year I picked up a new trainer focusing on golf movements , I wanted to get to 120, I obtained 122, and BS in the 180’s.   This year a bit more busy with work and life so Ive slowed down a little bit *** the reason for this tid bit is not self appreciation but will play out shortly ***

TSR2/3 being playing fairly interchangeably 9* degree heads (Ventus 7x TR Blue , Accra Gold RPG 472m+ , and TZ5 70 M+) , TSR3 love the feel , TSR2 the forgiveness is absolutely baked into that head, BUT on those off center hits , TSR3 was a bit better performance (ball speed)  for me and I liked the feel but the TSR2 usually was in the bag because off the forgiveness factor vs a performance forgiveness of TSR3.

Like any good neurotic golf crazy wrx’er I went out to test the GT line,  like many of you I watched all the videos , YouTube’s , wrx articles, etc etc.   Not to speak for anyone , but from what I garnered on my mini internet quest was “incremental change” and evolutionary step vs any sort of revolutionary gains.

Bring in the GT line ;   Took my TSR2 out to compare against the GT line ; notables and the meat and potatoes

Tested a GT2 8* and 9*

- BS for me was up a few MPH on GT2 , got into the 176/177’s which was a first for me on a titleist drivers plus distances and performance of my OG Stealth 8* head.   My golf has not been plentiful recently , maybe once or twice a month.   Additionally my training regimen hasn’t been up to normal levels, so IMOP it makes these gains more impressive as this guy isn’t firing on all cylinders

- Waaaay improved feel , has a little bit of mush but still that titleist feel.

- Getting stupid aggressive  , and trying to lay waste to the ball, my miss will be out on the Toe; which up until recently I thought TMAG handled toe’ish strikes better than Titleist.   I hit some where I thought they would be absolutely unplayable, and turned out ok.

-  I opened the face way up and cut across the ball with the GT2 , spin was 2400-2500 max

- GT2 does sit this year a bit more like TSR3 and GT3.

On the GT2 I feel the spin is up just ever so slightly , but im ok with that, I wanted to drop down to an 8* head anyway , im someone that does not like to see a great deal of loft on the driver.  8* GT2 head at 176/177 was spinning around 2000-2200 which was perfect for my launch window.

Driver to Driver - same shaft  , I probably gained about 7-10 yards on carry , getting more into that Stealth zone performance, and really had some TMAG type bombs laying into the GT2.     Love TMAG drivers because they were fun, but went to titleist because they didnt break, lofts have a fairly tight manufacturing tolerance, no super secret DOT^10 power head, etc.   But I would classify the GT line as good performance gains vs TSR2, but the GT line just felt  more fun than years past. Yes the last part totally none quantitive.

Note I didnt even test the GT3 , adjustability ok, but from what garner that was going to spin even lower, and with boarder line of a 8-9* head requirement, I didnt want the spin going lower than 2000.

For me , the baked in forgiveness towards the toe really sold it, and the driver just felt more fun, possible was it lofting down to teh 8* and my mental block of seeing loft was erased , could be?

Hopefully you all find this helpful in your equipment quest and “Swinging your swing”

That was an interesting read.   On the TM breakage.  I have a buddy who has had 2 Qi10 crack on him and he’s only 110’ish speed.   He moved on to PING LS and is loving life.

On the GT i have only had the 3 for one on course practice session.  But have had the GT2 for 6 weeks.  And like you i  am finding the speed on the 3 faster all the way across rhe face.  While i don’t hit dead center every time on either one, at my low SS of 85-87 i keep both in olay 99% of the time —officially 75.3% Fairways hit on the season.  TSR2 prior.

Spin on the GT2 has been around 2500 mostly and 2400’ish on the 3.

I love the feel ans sound of both these snd we will see which one shakes out as the winner.

Finally got my GT 2 on Thursday after placing the order a month ago directly with Titleist following a fitting.  2 rounds in and I am impressed in every regard - looks, feel, sound, forgiveness, and distance.  Replacing a QI10 and not looking back in the least.  I literally have not missed one fairway.  Of course, not all strikes were perfect but even my worst shots were in play.  Trying to finalize my shaft choice - Ventus Red TR Velocore or Special Joy Free Flex.  Both are great but I believe my on course results today with the Free Flex were better than yesterday with the Ventus.  Very stoked with the GT2!

I have the Autoflex SF405 in it. I had it in my TSR 2 and when i did my fitting in June i took that driver/shaft.

We tried many combos including the Ventus Red.  But the Autoflex was a good 3-4 mph faster and higher ball flight.   Since it was better, i just ordered the 2 with the Denali Red 5s.

i also had a UB5 with Titleist Tip. I tried that in the 3 and it’s good.  But nothing beats the AF for me.

I've had a chance to play about four rounds now with the GT3 9° AD UB. Well, two rounds ago I swapped shafts and put my AD VF 5X in. It woke this thing up for me. It really took the over " draw" out of play. Obviously if I put a bad swing it's still there.  With slightly less spin and launch of gained.a few yards of there UB. Really liking this driver combo.

Maybe I missed it but doesn't look like anybody posted this one? Great video. Timestamped with performance comparisons for toe strikes.. heel strikes... intentionally slower swings.. etc. Man does good work.

Crosspost from the big thread but thought it might be relevant here:

Got to try out the GT2 and the GT3 out on the course yesterday, currently playing the TSR2

The GT2 is definitely *not* a driver that you can simply replace the TSR2 with and get similar results

The way I'd describe it is the GT2 sits between the TSR1 and TSR2

The GT3 sits between the current TSR3 and the TSR2. I got similar launch as the TSR2, with a little less spin, and a more consistent, penetrating flight

I liked that the GT3 is a little shallower, which personally gives me more confidence since I play a very low tee (can't hit a regular drive), and also the "V" on the face is a little brighter, which made it visually more appealing

I eliminated the GT2 almost instantly, I got way too much spin with it. I'll keep my TSR2 as a backup head, since it's marginally more forgiving off initial feel

Sound and feel go to the TSR2 for me personally, the impact is softer and louder. The GT3 has a more dull, full feeling to it. Down to preference I guess, not my cup of tea but not an issue either. I played the Rogue ST LS Max a while back and that had a really dull sound too and I didn't mind

Weirdly enough I went from playing a cut with the TSR2 to my natural shot shape with the TSR3. I think that was just mental though, shallower face giving me more confidence I guess

Will do more testing tomorrow, but so far my impression is very positive

Got fitted last Friday (23rd of August).

Had a fitting on TSR drivers in May, but decided to wait since a new driver was coming out.

Got very similar fitting for both (TSR3 head):

GT3 8.0 with Project X HZRDUS Black 5G 60 flex 6.0, head set to D-4, length 45".

Compared to my current (20 year old) driver, the GT3 had:

Swing speed average increased 3 mph

Spin down from 3800 rpm to 2300 rpm

Carry increased from 215 to 265

Total increased from 240 to 285

The GT3 has a slight advantage to the TSR3, but fitter will sell his old stock of heads now when he's moving to GT line, so if I get a good deal, I will still consider the TSR3...

However, heart SCREAMS to get the GT3 because it was orgasmic to hit.

I’m pretty excited,  my new GT3 10 degree with GD Tour AD DI-6 PREMIUM TSr.  Shaft.  I haven’t gamed a Titleist driver since the 975 K and D I played back during college golf.  It was the best in the fitting so I’m looking forward to getting it out on the course.  Anyone else find the weight system super “interesting” haha.

My best strikes were with the GT4.  I went with the Graphite Design VF6 and a red/black MCC grip.  With so little spin, I might break the laws of nature and create a dimensional rift.

Lol.  I think I've been creating dimensional rifts with my drives for years now.  I can never find the ones I hit into the woods.  They must be disappearing into some sort of dimensional rift.

Just curious for those with the GT4, what's the kind of sound you all are hearing at impact? Compared to the GT 2 and 3, I noticed on my GT4, it's a bit on the high ping side at impact. I did a test between the 3 heads with the different weight positions for the GT4. I wanted to get some input from the community about the numbers. The sound of the GT3 sounds very similar to the GT2 fairways producing that muted sound at impact. The first 2 rounds with the GT4 yielded different results. The maiden voyage (GT2.5 setting) held up on the miss hits (toe strikes) and into the wind. In the second round, I was just all over the place on the face. I know it's user error but compared to my TSr4, the miss hits don't feel as bad compared to the GT4. I appreciate any input! Thank you in advance!

I had a strange fitting experience with the GT line. My SS is very consistent at 100-102 and my usual spin numbers are mid 2000's. I am a 1 handicap so while I don't hit it that far, I strike it pretty good most the time. My current gamer shaft is Venus Blue 5-S Velocore Plus in a TD Max. I tested this in the GT2, GT3 and GT4. The 2 had similar numbers to my gamer, maybe a bit more spin and a bit less carry. I didn't get a long with the 3. Was about 3 yards shorter carry and just didn't feel right. I wasn't even going to toss in the GT4 because common knowledge would tell me it wouldn't work. Well.... My averages were better with this than anything I have seen. My average carry was 260 with an average total distance of 286. This was 5 yards longer carry and 8 yards longer total than anything else. Spin was 2k and my dispersion was tighter than all others as well. I took this to the course yesterday and saw the same thing as the LM was showing. Shocked and super happy as this is the best feeling to me of anything I have tested. Anyone with similar experience?

I also went with the GT4. I'm a high spin player, especially with driver. Got the 4 with the weight forward in an 8 degree head and the 1k black. One of the lowest spin setups possible. Was finally hitting drives with some decent rollout, with spin in the low-mid 2000s, where I've never been. But I was also shocked by the forgiveness. You feel slight mishits more with the 4 than with the 2 and 3, but the results are very consistent across the face.

I have to agree with you about the consistency across the face with the GT4! I was hitting high cuts off the toe and it still would carry 275 in the air. The sound and feel on the miss hits are what's driving me to go to the GT3. When I was fitted, I was fitted into the GT3 but coming from TSr4 I always favored the 430cc head. I mainly play the GT4 in the 2.5 setting but my spin numbers on average are over 3,000. I want the GT4 work so bad but it's looking like change is coming HAHA!

Maybe I missed it but doesn't look like anybody posted this one? Great video. Timestamped with performance comparisons for toe strikes.. heel strikes... intentionally slower swings.. etc. Man does good work.
