CT National review

I played there on Sat based on the feedback from my buddy who is an accomplished player in CT.  I play an annual round in CT with a childhood friend who lives close to New Haven.

 

As we all got smacked with the storm on Sat caused a rain/T-Storm delay.  We got paired with 2 great guys who made the day a blast.  The layout is FANTASTIC,  the conditions were very good and the greens were true.  Obviously the course was wet from the downpour so not a lot of fairway roll but the greens great!!!

 

I am based in the Middleton/N.Andover area,  took me 90 mins to get there going 495-290-395S.  The course in layout is a lot like Butter Brook in Westford and The Oaks in NH which are 2 of my fav tracks.  My buddy and I loved the course so much we are planning a fall round and making the time as our schedules are so tight but this was one of the best public tracks I have played in a while!

 

rates are $88 with a cart BTW.

I concur, one of my favorite courses. It's challenging but not really too tricky so you can score if you play well. Have a visit scheduled for the end of July, looking forward to it.

Agree - it's a great course.  Normally it's in great shape.  Always enjoy playing there.  I'd say it was a much better course than Butterbrook but I hate that course 🙂

I have known you for 15+ years and haven’t changed your view on BB,  that might be on your headstone “BB sucks”. LOL

Actually, after playing it a few times in recent years  I have softened my view on BB a bit.  I still think it's not a great design and there are a few too many silly holes but the course is always in good shape and it's well run.  It doesn't suck, that's an overreaction and my bad. There are plenty of way worse courses that do suck. That being said, In terms of its similar style/cost competitors,  I prefer Shaker Hills and Atkinson.
