Ventus Black TR 7X in Mini (Great) vs Ventus Black TR 6X in Driver (Bad) - Are they different?

I'm a little lost and looking for ideas.  A while back I put a Ventus Black TR 7X in my TM 300 Mini and I have hit it great.  I believe I"m playing it at "standard" length and about D6 swing weight.  I thought since it was working that I would try the TR 6X in my driver and I have really struggled for some reason.  Built it at 45" with the same swing weight.

 

I tend to have a pretty aggressive swing with my driver club head speed at or just above 110 mph.

 

Any ideas as to why this would be?  Is the 7X a different profile or am I just struggling with the length?  Thanks in advance and any suggestions are welcomed.

What is the miss your are having? Also can you tell if the shaft in your mini driver is tipped? To me your mini is either playing a lot stiffer in comparison, you like the heavier weight, or both. If you have a driver head you can try the 7x in I would do that to see if you still get the same results.

A mini and a driver may not be different enough for you to prefer different weight. 
 

Do you have a shop around that can drop a 7x in the driver and see what it’s like?

The profiles are definitely different between 6x and 7x. Fuji is a bit notorious for making 6 series a “driver” profile (usually softer butt sections and a higher tip-to-butt ratio to lower launch) and 7 series a “fairway” profile (stiffer butt sections, sometimes with slightly softer tips, in order to increase launch). 
 

In the case of TR Black, the high tip/low mid of the 7x is actually stiffer than the 6x. The butt is significantly stiffer as well. Depending on how you perceive stiffness (some players feel change/loss of stiffness, while others feel the stiffness itself) your feels may vary - but short answer is yeah, they’re different

What are your launch monitor numbers like?  Is the TR 6 not spinning enough in your driver?

Yeah, imho they are gonna feel and play different.  How much so is probably dependent on how you adjust or respond to that feel.  I loved the 6.2 speeder TS but hated the 7.2 TS.  Maybe its a fuji thing.  Also, in reverse of my .2 series comment, I have and play Atmos TS Blue 7x in my 3w.  I could not get on with the 6x in the driver though.  Felt way softer to me.  I am cursed with being super sensitive to feels.

Thank you all for the responses.   I read somewhere that the 7X plays softer, but looking at the profiles you posted @CTgamer it seems as though it's "stiffer" but the mid section is softer in relation to the tip / butt.  I have a fitting session on Friday to try some things out and can post some trackman numbers.

 

I also play the AD IZ in my 5 wood and love it.  Would it make sense to try a similar bend profile in my driver?  Diamana ZF/GT, AD IZ, or another?

 

I'm new to the shaft profile game, but it seems like the trough in the middle is a traditional BlueBoard profile.

I think the biggest issue is that I'm having a hard time hitting the center of the face consistently.  Since I'm often hitting it low on the face the spin numbers are not too low.

Any update on this? Did you stick the TR 7X or find a different shaft?
