Chrome Tour vs Chrome tour X

I've played about 36 holes with the Chrome Tour and 18 Today with the X. I tried the X to see how it compared (For Me) to the CT as I wanted more Green Side Spin. Well for me the X Had that but not that much more than the CT. For Me the X was Shorter off the Tee than the CT, Now today our Air was Very heavy muggy so that could have played a role in the distance loss. I need more rounds with the X But from what I've Found so Far the Reg CT is a beast of a Ball and has Good Green Side Spin and Is Quite Long! I didn't see enough today with the X that would make me Switch from the reg CT. I will say that Callaway Knocked it out of the Park with the Chrome Tours! They just caught up to Titleist in my opinion.

Yea I think I’m still on board with the CT over the CTX, I’m playing on some fast greens tomorrow so I might go with the extra green side spin, both calls really seem to be flying far, the CT maybe a touch longer and I like the feel a little more off the putter with CT

Yeah the Greens on my home course is like Concrete right now, even with the extra spin from the CTX I was having trouble checking them. And I agree the CT to me feels much better across the board for me than the CTX. That reg CT is Hard to beat! May be the best ball out for this year as far as I'm concerned

I tested CT vs CTX in the chipping/pitching practice area and could not really notice a difference in how they checked up. Aerodynamically, how do they compare in the wind? Which one will tend to fly straighter off the driver?

Too me I could not see a difference in the straightness of them I controlled them both well. The biggest difference I seen was the X just seemed shorter distance wise to me. But I've got a dz of both to go through then I will know for sure which one to play, but right now it looks like the CT is much better for me than the X

I'm a big fan of the Chrome Tour.

I have a bit of a fade to my shot and I feel like the CT has less spin off my driver and longer irons, allowing me to control those shots better.

I recently played several rounds with the Chrome Soft X LS, which I believe would be considered equivalent to the CT in the new ball lineup. I haven't played enough rounds with the CS to get a feel for how they play differently than the CT, but so far I haven't really noticed a huge difference between the two.  I need a couple more rounds to do a fair comparison.

Biggest difference between CT and CTX is in the middle third of your bag. Sounds like CT is just the better fit for you.

This is absolutely what I have found. With CT, the 5i down to 7i have about 300 rpm less spin on average but peak a yard or two higher. Tested indoors many times to reach this conclusion. On course, I haven’t noticed CT to have any downside versus my Pro V1x. I’ve done Ballnamics a few times with a couple different data sets and CT is consistently coming up in the results.

I've mentioned it elsewhere, but what clinched it for CTX with me was that the lower spin of CT caused it to go further than I wanted when hitting less than full irons/wedges. Off speed pitches lost too much spin and CT would end up carrying far too close to distances I was trying to avoid. Everything else about CT made it a very alluring option, but that was enough to be a no go.

I’ve not seen that myself on the LM or on course but I’ll be watching for it now. That said, I tend to play touch shots where I’m not relying on spin to stop the ball. The greens I see are generally pretty sloped so landing the ball where it’ll roll towards the hole out like a putt is more my play. If I short side myself, I take my medicine.

I was gifted a new Chrome tour X on the first tee last weekend.  It surprised me in a good way.  Felt like ProV1, didn't spin nearly as much as ProV1x, and the trajectory was similar to -ProV1x.  Best part it performed equality as well with irons AND Driver.

Will pickup a sleeve during my travels and see if it was a fluke.

CTX spins more with irons but it's really noticeable with mid to short irons.  CT is a great all as well but just didn't have enough short iron and green side spin which is why I chose CTX.  I'm rotating between CTX and TP5x and will continue to do so for the rest of the year.  Both are outstanding but there are some glaring differences  With that being said, they both seem to work well.

I was a bit disappointed with the CT cause of that, never tried the CTX but i honestly might give a dozen a go especially since I use the TP5X.
