Wearing two rain gloves in humid conditions

I've had major issues this summer with my right hand slipping in the extreme heat and humidity. I've tried many different grips and none of them work when it's so humid that sweat is literally just dripping off your hands while standing still. In a moment of brilliance, I decided to try wearing my (2) rain grips, both hands. Wow, problem solved! I should have done this a long time ago. Anyone else doing this?

I do have a rosin bag that I go to 1st

That seems to work on most days

If it doesn't, then I go to 2 rain gloves

Have done it.  If it's so bad my right is slipping,  it also means 3 or 4 left gloves are being rotated and saturated. 

 

Usually at like 12 or 13 I'll get sick of it all and put the rain gloves on to finish the round.

I've been doing this for years.  I've found that a pair of Mizuno rain gloves are the best.  I've tried lots of them and find these the best.  I just wish they made them in white.  I'm testing a pair of Cobras this week.

Yes....picked up a pair of FJ rain gloves on another BST for cheap.  I don't really care for the feel but it does the trick!

There is no logical reason for not wearing two gloves (or no gloves) all the time.  Other than the Scots are frugal and wouldn't splurge for a 2nd glove eons ago.

I wear rain glove(s) when I play all year. I have them in black and white, ordered off Amazon.

 

If you wash (air dry) them, they will last for multiple seasons.  I think I have 4 pair that I have picked up over the last 6 years. They do not die.  (ymmv)

 

I just got tired of spending a lot of money on leather gloves that did not last or had to be in heavy rotation to make it through a single season.

I launched my Rypstick 2 houses over the other day. My rain gloves got delivered yesterday! Ive been tryin to rotate 3 gloves per round the last few weeks.  ..Didnt work.

I've posted this in other rain glove threads but I wore one rain glove every time I golfed for a month or so and my skin started peeling in my glove hand. Roughly 50% humidity in socal on average with no rain so I was wearing it more for the durability than slipping. If I just wear it sporadically then no problem but 3 times a week I started to notice issues. Kudos to the glove though because its still in great shape. I would have gone through a leather glove under the same conditions/timeframe.

 

Anyone noticed the same thing or have any ideas?

I see some really good players here in NC wearing a rain glove on their left hand; much more rarely that I see someone wearing two gloves.

 

One alternative to at least consider: SPF sleeves get rid of a lot of the issues with sweat running down onto your hands from your forearms, in addition to the sun protection they provide.  And good sleeves are NOT hotter; if anything, they keep your arms cooler by keeping the sun off your bare skin.  Farmers have known this for centuries; golfers are slow learners.

I started wearing the white FJ rain gloves when I lived in Memphis due to the humidity and now I’ve continued wearing them after moving to Knoxville. I also think if you have just a sweaty hand in general, wearing a single glove on your left hand is a smart move. As someone mentioned early, I have to wear them when I speed train with the Stack as well.

I also wear a rain glove in the humidity. Never had to go to two. I've used the same glove since 2020. It's incredible.

I just got these. A guy let me try his last week when it was crazy humid here in GA. What a difference. I had a cloths line hanging from my cart with all the normal gloves I was going through. Once I put the FJ rain gloves on, what a difference. Bought a couple pair to wear when it’s bad.

I have used these for years.  Always one in my bag, and they do a really good job.  Can't stand wearing 2 gloves in the summer in Texas.

I've definitely worn rain gloves to play in the hot, humid summer weather we have here in SE Tennessee. 

 

Recently I found Clinch Golf gloves. They're styled more like other golf gloves but the fabric in the palm is a similar material to FJ rain gloves.

Way back in the day when I was caddying, we had a match against another club and the opponent was wearing two black FJ gloves…my member said “the last time I saw a man with two black gloves, he was driving a white Bronco.”

I have been wearing Footjoy Rain gloves, year round, for about 5 years now.  I live in a hot and super humid area - leather gloves won't make it past 4 holes.

The Footjoys last and last and last - I'll wash them well after a few months - but I find myself throwing them out due to the stench after a year+ of use vs wearing them out.

I wear two gloves all the time regardless of weather conditions...never understood why most only wear one.  I am also bottom hand dominant and want as much grip as possible and gloves give more grip than skin does.  To each his or her own but I find it weird that you'll never see anyone wearing just one rain glove.

When it really gets hot and humid here in New Jersey  I find wearing both rain gloves is the only way to hold the club without my hands slipping.

I do this in humid conditions too. I’ve found that my right hand just grip well enough when it’s like that. My regular gloves get too saturated as well, so just a pair of rain gloves solves the problem. 
I’ve found that I like the Callaway rain gloves, they’re thinner and more fitting

Started wearing 2 rain gloves this summer, best decision I ever made.  Way too hot and humid here to not wear rain gloves on both hands.  Not only do you get a better grip, they reduce blisters.

Been wearing the foot joy rain gloves for probably 6 years now. I wear (2) gloves basically from June - sometime in September…but once I get into the scoring clubs 9-Sw it’s one glove and typically my normal leather glove. Not usually swinging as hard so it’s not an issue.

Oh and the Footjoys last FOREVER. I used one set for about a year and a half and only swapped out because I ripped the left one by pulling on it too hard 🤦🏻‍♂️
