Hello Friends,

 

It’s been years since I did my first one of these. Here’s my bag:

 

TaylorMade M5 (10.5) Graphite Design Tour AD GP 6 S

Callaway Rogue ST MAX (15) Graphite Design Tour AD F-75 S

Ping G425 (19) Mitsubishi TENSEI CK Pro Orange Hybrid 80 S

Mizuno MP-53 (4-PW, 22-46) Nippon Pro Modus 3 Tour 120 S

Titleist Vokey SM9 (50.12 F, 54.10 S @ 55, 60.10 S) Nippon Pro Modus 3 Tour 120 S

Artisan 0124 (35.25)

 

Some comments:

• In terms of aesthetics, I don’t like shiny/chrome and much prefer matte/raw (hence the bead-blasted MP-53s).
• Once I find clubs I like, I tend to stick with them. I’m borderline paranoid that I have backups of my fairway wood and irons. I don’t think I’ve changed shafts in the last 4-5 years.
• However, I’ve picked up a decent amount of speed recently thanks to my new instructor identifying and helping me fix my very late release. So shaft changes may be in order down the line.
• I made it 11 years with my old Edel McKenzie, which accounts for about 80% of my golfing life to date. Since that model has long been discontinued, it was finally time for a change. Behold the beauty below from the fine people at Artisan.
• The only setup change I’m considering is a TaylorMade P-UDI 3-iron in place of my 60-degree wedge for Bandon trips.

I love my mp53 irons. Your lucky to have a set still in the wrapper enjoy them.

Haha. I didn't start playing golf until adulthood, and having grown up batting and throwing left-handed, it wasn't really a decision. If I had started playing as a kid in the early 1990s, things would likely be different.

When I was a kid learning the game (we won't talk about what year that was) left-handed sticks were impossible to find.  If they were available, I would have played left-handed.  My youngest son learned the game in the early 90's and switched to the left side in college while fighting a bad case of the shanks.

Were these covers acquired by playing these courses? If so, that's quite a golf course resume you have there. Seminole GC is high up on the bucket list

@jackbauer How did your mp53 swing weight out with the nippon shafts. I am looking at going a little lighter in 2025 maybe kbs ctaper lite or nippons.

I had my club guy build the 4-9 (and 3 when I played it) at D2 and the PW at D3. It's been several years though, so I have no idea if I lucked into it or if he added weights.
