Looking for Rhode Island course assistance

Looking for some help getting on a nice private or semi-private course in Rhode Island on Tuesday August 27th.  I have 13 states left in my quest to golf 18 holes in all 50 states before the age of 50 and I had planned on playing New Port National on this day however they have an event so I need to find an alternative.  I will be traveling from Great Berrington, MA with my Father-in-Law to knock off another state and I am hoping someone can help.  If nothing else some suggestions for other public courses would be appreciated.  I like to play top courses in every state so there's that too.

Can't help you with the private course access but some of the public courses I have played in RI:

 

Crystal Lake is a decent but very short track in Mapleville

Meadowbrook is a very nice course but not much on amenities and limited parking. 🙂

Triggs in Providence is a great layout but it is a muni so not everyone's cup of tea. During the week wouldn't be too bad as weekend rounds are likely 5+ hours.

Thank you for the recommendations. I am looking at Triggs, Meadowbrook, Montaup, and a few others.  Suggestions and opinions welcome.

If you can't find anything show up as a walk on and start calling around while you wait!

The starter will put you on the next available spot to send out as many foursomes as possible on busy weekends.

I found this out from a club member who pays four times a week. 

 

When I played in RI my partner called around and found a last minute tee time at a 9 hole executive course. On a busy Saturday morning.

A week later I walked onto a busy muni  in MA and filled in for a regular foursome that was one person short instead of a later tee time.

 

Sometimes there are weather events that cause a lot of last minute cancellations.

If you only have one round and no access to one of the top private clubs Triggs is the only correct answer.

I would take Meadowbrook over Newport National, half the price and pretty legit course.

Did you ever get onto a course?
