I’ve hit the Titleist 1k blue but not the MCA 1k Blue, so I can’t make a direct comparison. What I can say is that the Titleist 1k blue had much better performance and feel than the previous MCA Tensei blue shafts they have offered in the past, for me. I’m sure someone can chime in and explain why based on the tech. Take this with a huge grain of salt because I hit one in the GT and the other in the TSr, so it’s not apples to apples. The reduction is spin could be because of the difference in head. I’ve never been able to make the blue profile work for me in the driver but this time around it did. It just feels like a more stable blue profile than before, in my opinion. Mileage may vary.

I did check the Mitsubishi site and under the 1K blue it does state as featured in Titleist.

There is no Titleist 1K Blue. There is the 1K Pro Blue and a new 1K Blue (non-pro) which happens to be a stock option in the Titleist GT line (it will likely show up in other OEM lines for 2025).

The non-pro is the Blue mid launch/spin counterpart to the 1K Black both being part of their OEM program. Looking at their profiles on the MCA site, the non-pro appears to have a slightly softer butt and mid and slightly stiffer tip. The pro also has a larger butt diameter. Beyond that there are some slight differences in weight and torque but nothing drastic.

Non-Pro: https://mitsubishigolf.com/products/tensei-1k-blue

Pro: https://mitsubishigolf.com/products/tensei-1k-pro-blue

Thanks for clearing up - was a bit confused by the model listed on the Titleist site.

Driver: Titleist GT3 9 degree with Ventus TR Blue 60 Stiff

Fairways:  Titleist GT3 4W and GT2 7W with Ventus TR Blue 70 Stiff

Irons:  Cobra Forged Tec 5-PW with KBS Tour Stiff

Wedges:  Haywood Signature Wedges - 50 / 54 / 58

Putter:  LAB DF3

All of the 1K pro shafts are stout, legit and hold their composure.  I have played white, black, orange and blue and they all are very good.  All of them will keep spin low if you are a low spin player, but not going to make spin disappear.  You can swing easy or hard and they keep their shape.  The blue was easier to launch high, but I can launch them all high if I need to.  Other than the orange which has a different balance/feel, the rest of them are more similar than they are not, IMO.  The black feels the harshest at impact to me, but it performs.

All of my experience are in the 80 (heavier) ones.  YMMV, of course.

The AV and CK shafts are not even close the 1K - like totally different.  They do not keep their composure on hard swings or if you want late moves with your hands.  They might be good shafts for 100% tempo swings, but they did not hold up for me.

No but I've been looking for a used tsr4 offered in tensei blue 1k pro 55 regular. It seems to be the only lightweight blue that doesn't have super high torque or counterbalancing. The used world in TSR4 regular is filled with crappy shafts. Maybe it's viewed as a vanity purchase?

I had been gifted a CC fitting and said eff it, I hate my current driver setup.

They put me into a GT3 with a Tensei Pro Blue 60.

They also quoted me $1200 for my troubles.

Is my best bet just get a lightly used Gt3 head off ebay and order the shaft direct? I really did love the feel of it and the numbers were undenieable, but $1200 is preposterous.

CC is notorious for overcharging for their clubs.  Buying the head and shaft yourself would be ideal provided that you know your specs for the shaft.

@Djmc25 yeah I bet you could find an almost new GT3 head on eBay or BST here. I have a 9* that I’ll likely be posting next week but otherwise they definitely come up. eBay is a good option for Tensei Pro Blue 1K. Some sellers will include an adapter and built at a specific length. Otherwise folks like Peoples Golf or JDs Clubs will build it for you. Admittedly, I’ve been looking at the same shaft and it’s not easy to find.

It was awesome. Harder I swung, straighter the ball flight went.

What was interesting is my numbers in the stiff Pro Blue dwarfed anything I did with any of the X-stiff models despite SS between 112-117

We were just using the stock 45inch length, relatively new to club tech, is there potentially more in there that I wouldn't have been made aware of?

@Djmc25 I’ve really liked the rest of the Tensei 1K line and used to play RDX Blue 6TX but last few years have played more whiteboard/black profiles. The 1K Pro Blue looks interesting because it seems really stable for a blueboard profile, which it sounds like you saw. I might need to keep watching eBay…

Incredibly stable. I took a Stack max effort swing at the end and touched 174 ball speed and it was a 5 yard draw. My eyes popped. Even my misses were within 25 yards of the center line. 10 swing sample, but still.

Amount of tipping.  I would guess that CC doesn't tip their shafts or if they do, it's they follow OEM guidelines.

It was slightly more stable than MCA's past blue boards, IMO.  It wasn't stable enough for driver but was decent for 3 metal.

I found the aftermarket Tensei AV Series Blue with Aluminum Vapor to strengthen/stabilize the handle while improving the feel of Driver is seriously long.  Reason I have been playing it since September, and Ventus Blue is now 2nd string.   Wasn't meant to happen, due to performance, I have Tensei AV line shafts in two different 2 irons.

Jesus man, $1200 is absolutely ridiculous. I am annoyed at reading that quoted price, i can’t even imagine how u feel. Do not pay that price. If u loved the setup, i would do what u suggested above.

Does anyone have feedback when comparing the CK Pro Blue to the 1K Pro Blue?  I have the older model in my fairways but haven’t tried in a driver. I hit the 1K pro blue with a TSR2 driver head. I thought it felt soft compared to the older CK Pro.

I felt the opposite where the 1k pro blue felt more linear with less bend/load compared to the CK pro blue.  As a result, the 1k pro blue is more stable for my swing.  However, the CK pro blue felt smoother.  Launch and spin were very similar between the two.

I think you may have tested the stock shaft Titleist installs. It is a 1K Blue, non-pro version that are 55G thru 85G. True Pro version are 50G thru 80G.

I have a 1K Blue and 1K Pro Blue, both same weight class and flex. The non pro feels softer and very much a blue board profile. The Pro model feels stiffer in the middle (to me). I think Mitsubishi describes them similarly on their website.

I have hit the 1k Pro Blue and it is very good.  I am a big 1k White fan, have also hit the Orange extensively, and currently have the Blue in my Mini.

The 1k White was my first love in the 1K series and it's very very consistent  However, I can turn the Blue over better without it being wildly left.  That's just a bad swing if that happens.

I still love the White, but I like the 1k Pro Blue so much that I am now trying it in the driver to seek some extra distance.  TBD on that.  It is interesting to see that it is super popular among pros playing Tensei, esp. on the Euro Tour.

I ordered the non pro with the GT280 mini, 75TX. hated it, felt so loose and hit wild hooks no matter what I tried. I thought it must be me, so swapped over to a DF 70TX and an Atmos Red 8X and both of those felt great and no duck hooks. Now in Ventus Red TX and it feels great. I tried the non pro blue again our of curiosity and boom hooks galore. Just doesnt suit my fast tempo

I've been playing the Tensei CK Pro Orange (not 1K) for most of the year, and just started playing the 1K blue (non-Pro) in the TSR2.  I've hit lots of mitsubishi blue variations of the years and to me this 1K Blue offered by Titleist is significantly more stable and better performing than those past non-pro variations (AV, CK, Diamana, etc).  In fact it feels almost as stable as the Pro Orange I'd been playing, and seems to be lower spin.  I'm a fan of the 1K Blue so far.
