Coming From the CT to B X

Well played 9 holes today with the 2024 Tour BX. I'm coming from the Chrome Tour. Shot 33 Birdied the First 3 holes. I did have a 32 2wks ago with the CT. So I've scored well with both balls just been trying to find a permanent "Cheaper" ball. So The B X is not bad at All...

Driver- This is where I'm not sure about it yet. I don't think it's as long as the CT. It also feels a bit harder but I could get used to the feel. 

 

Mid/Long irons- good Spin and definitely as long as the CT.

 

Short irons- good spin with decent stopping power. I was getting a foot or so of release but the greens I was playing are very hard. 

 

Around Greens- Good check up spin, It would grab and roll out just a bit. 

 

Putting- This is where the B X shined for me, It Felt Wonderful off putter and rolled very nice! I definitely loved it better putting than the CT. 

 

Overall the B X is a Great ball and I could see myself putting it in play. I'm gonna go through the dozen and see how things play out of the driver before I make a decision whether to play it or not.

Update played 9 again this morning played both B X and CT every hole. Shot -1 35 with BX and +1 37 with the CT.

 

For me these balls are very close only difference I'm really seeing is Feel CT is softer than BX. Also the CT is 2-3 yards longer through the Bag. Spin into and around the greens pretty much identical. 

 

Maybe I'm thinking the B XS may be the closer ball to the Chrome Tour especially Feel, Not sure it would be as long. I've never played the XS. Both B X and CT are great balls and I could play either one.

The only thing BXS has in common with CT is feel.  BX is much closer in terms of performance.   

 

CT is just long!   of the tee.  I found BX to be slightly shorter, but with better control around the green

Agree 100% The BX is definitely shorter off the Tee. Hit 2 drives yesterday and put Great swings on both of them and was pretty solid. Hit the CT 260 and the BX was 245. That's one thing I've noticed with the CT is it's Long across the board! I was just hoping I could find a very close Alternative that's cheaper, but it looks like I may just have to suck it up and 55 bucks a dz cause not sure I'm gonna find a better ball than CT. The only other ball I've found to be remotely close is the Maxfli tour X

I have put these to the test this year, along with TP5x. (Have not tried the CTX yet). 
 

I actually found the B X the softest of the bunch.  It feels softest of all the lower spin, premium balls to me.  It spins plenty around the greens but I am a high spin player.  The CT definitely does fly a little further off driver but I can’t tell any at all on irons. The BX feels similar to the CT on the putter for me.  
 

basically, the only reason for me not to play the chrome tour is it doesn’t spin as much around the greens. But that’s about the only place. I see the separation in the two balls.  The BX feels slightly softer.

I love the CT and have been gaming it for the last few months.

It has been a few years since I tried the BX but I found it too clicky.

I have found BX to be slightly shorter than CT off the tee.  I have no problem with this, bc the BX is literally dead perfect for me off the current irons.  With irons, I don't see much of a distance change, more of a flight spin change.  BX flies slightly higher, with slightly more spin.  My irons are already lowish spinning, sort of like ZX7's.  I like a little spin to control the ball.  When I was gaming Apex CB's, CT worked better because there was already PLENTY of spin there.

Debating these balls ......softness off putter and wedge spin are two of the keys for me - edge to BX?

I would say yes.  You’d have to look at CTX for wedge spin to get close to the BX.  The CT is nowhere close in the spin category.  The BX is a fantastic ball.
