I played Mizuno 33s for 20 years. Those clubs are fantastic. This year I got Miura 1957 small blades and Mizuno 221s. Both are great. Comparable to the 33s, of course. Will be interesting to hear everyone's top 3 blades.

Somehow it is still active despite all the amazing tech that has come out in the last decade lol), and you will get awesome answers there as some real aficionados with so much experience globally post there.

that said, my personal top 3 are:

Kyoei, the Vega raf cm head

miura 1957 small blades

Mizuno MP 14 (just cause they were freaking awesomely playable and they were my gamers for many years and started my blade love affair.   They probably have too much offset for my liking these days.

Miura Baby Blades 1957

I have all 3 sets and all play differently in their own way in feel and flight but that is mostly from my swing.  The Miura when struck well has a more piercing flight.

Contrary to what one would believe, I feel like the small blades are long heads.   If you ever flush pull draw a small blade it’s going stupid long.  When I had my sim in garage they were like 2-3 yards longer on average than my other blades but that long miss was long long with them.  That 2-3 could be from my comfort with them but like you said, their trajectory is compliments the feel.    I’m restarting mine now and I hope they play well after….

I've tried telling people this for years. Got so tired of the responses, I stopped saying anything about it. But yes, Miuras do travel a long way.

rediculous..

none , " win" .

shape  preference  is key to the best.

miuarism sb01

tourstage maru

honma tw 727m

??????

whats  better??.?

phhhhh,..

ZERO similarites in shape   with these  and as  for feel ....

theres no way  you can  say ones " better"  than the other.

played them for years, not possible to seperate.

the one  that looks best at address  is the  winner.

over  history each has  been  THE best.

Right  now tho,  the  buchi protos have  top seed.

that shape has me captivated .

but  even still, i   dont think my set is   at  its  optimal feel/performance  .

with the  NS 105s  in them sure , they play lights  out  but  id prefer them with a set of  NS SP ORANGE OR  ns 130s.

A-grind mb might be  as  close to  miniature perfection simplicity as  you can get.

but  on a bad day, ohhhh  that hosel is MIGHTY  close  to " in play...."

go on choose A  best from  these ..

I game the 225s when I’m playing steel irons. They are fabulous. I’ve got Baby Blades 2.0. Different kind of fabulous, but more of a sim club. Lately I’m in the graphite shafts and loving the Epon EF01i. Serious progressions and differences from knife to spoon to shovel. Love ‘em all!

played my yonex ezones and my other set of  TS us blades on the weekend.
very difffernt styles.
not sure which  i  prefered , both good a t slitghly  different  things.
can REALLY wizz the yonex about from right  to left  in the 7/pw  but not the  3-6 , in fact the opposite, they like to be cut.

the TS are so nice  to hit impact wise, so thick, meaty, full.
bit longer  distance wise, 1/2 club  into the wind   maybe.

can play these is all conds equally.

yonex  def prefer drier, tight lies.

yonex a bit more precision driven.
tourstage a bit more  robust.

  • DLR changed the title to Top 3 JDM Blades

I picked up a set of those Miura HY Special editions and they might be similar to the MB101, but really the only thing i've used close to a blade. Can say i didnt mind them but i need some lessons etc.

had a think about which sets   i dont think i cud give up.

-tourstage  mr-23
-honma tw 727m
-epon af tour.

i  CUD  live without the rest, but i cant  see when id ever go without those  3 sets.
they serve   best in  slightly different conditions .

wet =     epons
 all rounders = honma
wind , bone dry,=  tourstages.

while im at it, cavities
-prgr  tr500,          very close, closest  in fact to a blade
-yamaha  2011 forged            , go MILES, sooooooooo easy to hit , feel  exceptional
-miura 3001cb,               GI  with a hint  of playability  ,can NOT  miss the face on these the hosel does not exist.

yea happy with those 6 sets  it ever comes to  it.

While not necessarily JDS, my top 3 are:

1. Mizuno MP37

2. Mizuno MP-14

3. Bridgestone Tourstage X Blade (2003).

Lots of nice Japanese blades out there.

You can always go with the JDM 37's(pictured below), which were my second fave Mizzys, behind the 14's(bottom pic), which I Played for 15 years, prior to switching to the JDM 37's.

Yah, I most certainly did, and then some, lol

Those were my last set of 7i through SW, which I replaced annually as that's a year's worth of Play. My 7i(36*), 8i (40*) & SW(58*) were my go to scoring irons from 170yds in.

I replaced my 3i-6i every two years, however  I did carry the same 2i for the full 15 years as I never hit that puppy on the course, and barely hit it on the line, lol😂

WTF, I told ya that I was a Pouser🤪

I will say that I got two seasons out of the same irons when I Played Staff Tour Models, and 3 years for 3i-6i.

Mizzys were sweet, though soft, and that chrome wore off much quicker than the Staff irons. That's why they went with the chrome spray undercoating, to attempt to improve the chrome adhesion to the steel. I noticed no difference either wear  wise or feel wise, and I hit tens of thousands of balls a year back then.

Stay Well Brotha👊

I never did list my Top-3 as I just posted my #1/MP-14 & #2/JDM MP-37 above, though my third pick would of course be Mizzy, with these JDM Yoro MS-203/Faldo's gettin the nod.

Cheers🍻

Have only played one JDM blade: Miura KM700. Love it. If I had the funds, I would like to try Kyoei raw MB or (hopefully) upcoming Srixon Z Forged III.

I have these……feel unbelievable but I just can’t look at that 8-pw scoopy offset. I play the black cobra king mb now and are my favorite I’ve played regularly

previous were 690mb, z945,  pxg (surprisingly nice) and mizzy mp18 (close second to the cobras)

I have some miura mb-5003 on the way, never hit a miura and these seem to get glowing reviews!! Always searching for THAT feel
