Help with shafts: C-Taper S vs. S+ vs. Modus SPB?

Wondering if anyone has hit both the C-Taper S (120g) and the C-Taper S+ (125g) and noticed any big differences between them? I'm using the stiff flex right now and love the linear feel of the shaft, but am wondering if the extra weight would help my swing. For reference 7-iron is 92-94mph, stepping on it can get it to 96-97mph, release is late, transition is aggressive and im a digger... we're talking beaver pelts, but working on swing changes.  I tried the 130x and that was too much, tried project x 6.0/6.5 and it felt terrible, modus 130 was a no go, and about to try the KBS Tour-V 120X. 

 

Ordered a set of Modus Super Peening Blues in the stiff flex and am wondering how these would compare to the c-tapers? Any feedback is appreciated! Thank you!

The 120s and 125 s + don’t feel that different (as opposed to the 130x which feels very stiff).  125 will offer a little more protection if you get quick, but may not we quite as friendly on off speed shots and while you work through your swing change.

 

no idea how they compare to the spb as the set I got were fake off eBay 🙂

Excellent - thank you, thats good to know! Crazy how much stiffer the 130x feels. I think i'll try the 125s+ out then if it's more of a weight difference vs. flex difference.

 

Shoot I got my set off ebay, so apparently I might not know how they compare either, LOL

You’ll certainly get some feel out of those SPB’s. I currently have SPB x flex in a gaggle of Apex Pros. I like them. I tolerated C Taper s flex but the S+ was just about the only shaft that I categorically have not gotten along with.

How do you compare the feel of the 120 C-Tapers to your SPB's in X? Anytime I try a shaft that has any amount of wiggle/give It completely throws off my swing (i.e. $ Taper, KBS Tour, etc...) Was thinking the SPB could be good or maybe the modus 125.

Hate to be a downer but I doubt you will like the SPB. Its going to be tough to find any Nippon shaft other that Modus 130 that will hold up to 90+ with a quick transition. 
 

With that said it might be a good experiment if you are looking for something that will make you slow down that transition.
