9 hole course Membership

Anybody a member of a 9 hole course? I joined a 9 hole course last fall and I'm really starting to regret it and thinking of Dropping it and joining a 18 hole course. The 9 hole course is so aggravating because they don't control it and you have holes where 3 and 4 groups are waiting to Tee off! It took me 1.5hr this morning just to play the last 6 holes. 

 

I do have a 27 hole course that is half the membership fees but it's just not in as good a shape. Few fairways has erosion issues (No Grass) and couple Tee boxes is just dirt due to not being able to grow grass. But it being 27 holes it's spread out and not near as aggravating. Sure me playing as single catches people there too, But they can let me play through on that course whereas the 9 hole course you can't go anywhere even if someone lets you play through.

Back in the late 90s, when I took up golf was a member at a 9-hole course.  Conditions were similar to what you're experiencing today.  Seems time doesn't change certain aspects of golf.  Anyway, whether you quit or not depends on what you value in a course and or what you can tolerate.  Regardless of the number of holes, as a single, you'll encounter different problems on a long course.  Singles at many courses are second-class citizens.

I played as  walk on at  9 hole course.  It was great because I had a couple hours and was in no rush.

One of the foursome said he plays it four times a week.  It is slow on weekends but he plays with a foursome on Saturdays.  One guy couldn't make it so I filled out the foursome.

 

It sounds like you have outgrown the 9 hole course.

 

One idea is winter rules.  Some places require you to play off portable mats during the winter.  Maybe you could do that where there is no grass?

Well not sure I've outgrown the 9 hole course, It's just that it gets very old (And I'm sure to most it would) to wait a minimum of 5 mins on each shot. There's just nowhere for anyone to go when there's sometimes 2 or more Groups on every hole. I've never really understood why they don't control it better. It's a public course and they let you play regardless of Tee time or not. They are building a 9 hole par 3 to open next year but I doubt that's gonna help much. It used to be 18 hole course till they sold and the new owners turned it into 9 holes and making a RV park out of where the back 9 use to be.
