Right on, CL! I’m also a long time Cowboys fan, even attended games in the old Cotton Bowl, but see this team as a complete fraud. As you say, Baltimore wants to establish an identity. Dallas will get a heavy dose of Henry and RPOs from Jackson. I’m expecting a blowout and not in Dallas’ favor.

 

But then again, I’m in the basement. What do I know?

I'm pretty convinced now more than ever coaching matters.  Cowboys haven't had a good coaching trio since the days of Jimmy Johnson - Norv Turner - Dave Wannstedt.  Ever since then there is always one or more coaches who get over matched in the big games.  Same team that went 12-5 last year, 8-0 at home, same players for a playoff home game get waxed by the Packers.  Why?  McCarthy.  

 

I'm far from an expert at football, but when you get a little lucky and win a SG early, but then go on to lose in the playoffs 7 years in a row, that tells me all I need to know about your ability to get the job done.  Worse, you take a year off apparently to study analytics then ironically become the most predictable coach in the playoffs.  But here we are, suffering through another teams head coach reject.

... Coaching absolutely matters. The OC and DC are the brains behind the operation and most call the plays and run the offense/defense. The HC sets the tone for the team as well as either elevating his teams character or dragging the character down or maybe worse having no effect at all. I don't think Dan Campbell is calling plays but boy oh boy does he set the tone. His players love him and it is clear to see he loves them. He elevates his players.

... I played for quite a few coaches in several sports but specifically concerning football I found they usually fall into one of two categories. They either think they are there for the team or the team is there for them. I am right there with you, coaching always matters.

I have decided to change a Pick also. I don't want to be pulling against the Lions down in chisag's town so I am dropping my Arizona Pick and replacing it with Tampa. Denver is one of the weaker teams and having to go to the Pirate Ship far from home and take on a hot Baker Mayfield should be a tough task for the Broncos.

Hickory just contacted me and told me if Herbert ends up playing he will switch his Pittsburgh Power Play Pick to Baltimore (standard Pick No PP ). If Herbert is ruled out for the game he will leave his Picks as they are. I told him that will be fine.
