... That said I would still be happy with any of them. While Daniels clearly outplayed most every other QB this year I still don't trust him in the long run. His frame is too slight and he runs faaaaaaaar too much. To be fair I said the same thing about Jackson and still don't like his style of play or the fact that he is a career ending hit that can happen on any play. Brady, Manning and Brees did just fine from the pocket and as a long time fan you saw what happened to RGIII when he ran more than prudent. I do love the fact that all 3 have the ability to escape the rush and if needed, run when the pocket breaks down but prefer they never run by design. But if they do, slide or get OB before taking hits from NFL defenders. 

... I expect all 3 (barring injury) to be franchise QB's for many years to come and while NE has had great success at that position, it will be nice for the Bears and Commanders to not have to worry about a QB for a change.

I was right there with you. And I made a late switch from Over, making it even worse. Saw some prognosticator talking about how an O/U of 55+ in the playoffs had never hit the Over. Thought I had discovered some inside secret sauce.

I waffle on this. A mobile QB opens up SO much more offense, making it much more difficult on the defense. I’d much prefer having that added dimension. Take Mahomes as an example. Very few, if any, designed running plays for him, but he’s incredibly effective running from the pocket. And he’s pretty small, but rarely takes any real hits. 
 

Speaking of which, I really disliked his faking getting hit on the sidelines in an attempt to draw a penalty. Wish they had thrown a flag on him for unsportsmanlike conduct. It’s hard enough on the refs and they’re so protective of QBs, even after leaving the pocket. Just look at the 2 penalties that should not have been called.

 

Last, and only tangentially related, Goff got completely clocked on that pick 6. I was surprised to see him back in the game.

... Don't get me wrong, I LOVE a mobile QB that can run when needed because the pocket broke down. The best move around in the pocket and only run past the line of scrimmage if no WR is open with their eyes downfield until they cross that line. And I think you have stated the key phrase "but rarely takes any real hits". 

... I am all for protecting the QB even when it means marginal calls get it wrong. That said, with the protection they are afforded I think they have to slide before many of them do now. Waiting to the last second is circumventing the spirit of the rule. If you want those extra yards you have to take the hit. If not, slide before any doubt exists. Hopefully they address that in the off season. But even then it will still be a judgement call by the official when it happens in the gray area, kinda like going through a yellow light. Sometimes you are just in no mans land.

... I kinda remember that play but don't remember it being to a NBA Flop degree. I could be wrong. It can get pretty tricky trying to protect yourself on the sidelines but I am with you, an obvious attempt to circumvent the spirit of a rule put in place to protect you is just a big No No for me too. When in doubt get down or step out of bounds well before any potential collision. For the average NFL QB I don't think it is an issue but for the Allens/Jacksons/Daniels that run by design, it creates a huge disadvantage for the defense because more often than not you have to hit these guys to bring them down.

... I hate Over/Unders. I think it is the most difficult to predict. From needing to throw late when behind so picks happen with extra DB's in the game to being ahead and just running out the clock with no more scoring when you are 2 points from the Over. Like you, I thought the weather would dictate a low scoring game but of course ya never know and that's why they call it gambling! 🫣

And I'm with you in that Picking/Betting the UNDER is always uncomfortable when watching the game, but sometimes you have a hunch and just have to do it.

I am so happy for DC MD and VA. The once fabulous Redskins of owner Jack Kent Cook's making disappeared soon after his selling the team to the worst owner in professional sports. The fans of the Redskins had to endure over 2 decades of crappy non competitive teams. After being a living in the DC area Skins fan and attending a few dozen games at the classic old RFK stadium (for 15 years) (and quite a few of them with @doctoro) I moved all the way to the West Coast. I still pulled for that burgundy and gold team from the NFC East for some time, but eventually I couldn't take the pain and gave up my support.

 

After Snyder sold the team in just a few years solid improvement started to happen. Drafting Jayden Daniels was like hitting the professional QB lottery. The young man is astonishingly talented and possesses incredible poise. 

 

The Commanders go down to Tampa and beat up Baker and the Bucs. Next they roll into the Motor City and man handle the #1 team in the NFC. Things are dandy once again for the Washington DC area NFL football fans and I couldn't be happier. 

 

If the Eagles advance today and the Commanders find away to beat Philly and get to the Superbowl it will be very sweet.

So I am a happy guy right now.
