... As I am sure you and TL know, the bet with 2.5 points for Philly was null and void after 24 hours. Read the fine print. I am not sure anyone saw that kind of performance coming from the Eagles. They seemed to be at the peak of their game in all aspects of the game and I do think we have a genuine Super Bowl!

Of course we knew that was a take it now bet and it wouldn't be offered very long.

... I really thought the line would be in the 5.5 to 7 point range. But the Eagles played out of their minds or probably better stated, finally played up to their potential. Granted it is a team game and everyone contributes but there are just so few players than can single handedly change the outcome of a game. Mahomes and Barkley are two of them and pretty cool they are meeting in New Orleans.

Had Buffalo prevailed, I think Philly would be favored. I don't think Buffalo would have an answer for the run game. Spags is a defensive genius and he has better players. He'll have something dialed up. BTW, that corner blitz he called on Buffalo's last play was legendary. It was the only time he ran that blitz the entire game and Buffalo clearly wasn't ready for it. Spags calling D, Reid calling O, and you have Mahomes? Just not fair.

... My son had a genius DC in college and I have probably talked about before. He studied the tendencies of every opponent and broke down all the tendencies and possibilities. Teams are just much more consistent than many think. He realized of course his defensive alignments and plays could be somewhat predicted by what plays he ran. So he altered his formations for the same defensive call and he ran at least one play every Qt that was contradictory to his normal scheme so they would never see it coming. Especially blitzes. Bry always said he would end up in the NFL and he has gone from Marian an NAIA school in Indy and with several stops along the way is now the DC at Western Michigan

 

Scott Power was named Defensive Coordinator/Linebackers coach in March of 2024.

Power brings years of success as a defensive coordinator at several different levels of college football. Most recently, he spent two seasons at Louisiana Tech, helping the Bulldogs defense rank in the top 25 in turnovers gained in 2022, coached one All-American and seven Conference USA All-Conference selections. He also helped La Tech recruit the top-ranked recruiting class in CUSA in 2024, which also ranked fifth in the Group of 5.

Prior to his time at La Tech, he spent three seasons as the defensive coordinator at Stephen F. Austin. Under his command, the Lumberjacks routinely posted top defenses in the FCS, including leading the Western Athletic Conference in scoring defense, total defense, takeaways, sacks and tackles for loss in 2021. Power also had stops as defensive coordinator at Texas A&M Commerce, Central Washington and Marian.
 
Power holds a Business Management and Economics degree from Indiana University.
