I was messaged by @Petethreeput today and he feels that he must drop out of the contest. Please @nsxguy go ahead and remove his Picks. I am bummed because Ol' Pete has been with me and @Qqq123xx since day one of the Picks Contest many years ago.

I think having the PP and the totals both in the same color of orange is confusing.  Last year only the PP was done in orange. What do you think NSX?

I am OLD, but not yet feeble (I think ).

 

As almost everybody does already.......

 

It doesn't matter how you choose to write out your PICKS post. Some of the rundowns are very interesting, but please make your picks CRYSTAL clear and together somewhere within your post. To where they stand out and I can't possibly miss them. Right at the top or bottom of your post would be best. 👍

 

TDK - you're new to this. Please don't think I'm picking on you. 

 

Examples below.

 

TDK is pointing me to a previous post of his to go and find his pick. Please don't make me go find stuff.

 

TDK said "Give me the Texans SPREAD". Spread ? Hmmmmmm. While I understand that to be the Texans minus the points, it might possibly be (mis)understood. Thankfully he clears it up later in the same paragraph.

 

He also said, in that earlier post, "I AM GOING WITH THE OVER THURSDAY NIGHT". OK, there is only 1 game on Thursday and since the pick is OVER, no real need to name a team, but please name a team anyway. There may be some days where 2 games are on the same night.

 

A fellow group manager I once worked with wrote on my whiteboard "Don't give instructions that can be understood. Give instructions that CAN'T be MISunderstood." She was very wise.  

 

Expected format, somewhere in your post, is as follows,,,,,,,,,,,,

 

Ravens/Chief OVER                (or UNDER of course. Naming just one team is fine)

Texans                                         (If you like, add the +/- but I won't be checking that)

... Just funning' and I get it NSX, I was just really unlucky with it. It takes some knowledge of course but in the end it is luck when using the spread as we know the line is meant to be a toss up. I don't like giving points away. If I miss with a straight call I lose nothing. If I miss with a PP I lose 10 points. I just don't like giving points away even though I know the value. Win twice it's plus 40 points and lose twice and minus 20 points, so a gain of 20 points with those two wins without PP's would give me a net 10 points. I'm down 10. 🤔  BUT lose 3 times with PP and win once I am down 10 but gain 5 without PP so I am up 15. Of course if I win 3 times with PP it's plus 60 and the one loss of 10 puts me up 50, so 35 points ahead of non PP picks with 3 wins. Sounds like a no brainer. That said there's nothing more frustrating than picking the Jets as the PP in the opener last year and Rodgers going out for the season on the 4th play. I never wish injury on anyone (even Packers) but it will happen this year and hopefully on someone else's PP!  😇

I think I was 1 - 5 last year on the  PP's.  Chisag, as well. And the only one I won was on a spread bet and the team scored a safety on the final play to win the spread by one point.
