Never more than $10 and while I hope to win of course, I expect to lose. Last 3 years I came out a little ahead the first two year by around $50 and last year came out behind by about the same. This year golf has me up about $75. The only "real" bet I have made is $100 on the Bears OVER at 8.5 games when they drafted Williams and Odunze and traded for Swift and Allen. Like a degenerate gambler/homer I think that one is a lock. 🤪

Ahhhhhh,,,,,,,, the stories,,,,,,,,, Amiright ?

 

Used to play the parlay tickets every week. Turns out I had a great knack for college. Pros ? Not so much.

 

Had 3/4 frequently. So no $. 1 week, on a 4-team parlay ($10 for $100 payout) I'd hit all 3 of my early picks. Had to leave the house for a basketball game.

 

4th pick was ND getting 14 vs. USC. It's on TV and I'm watching. ND is UP 24-0 at halftime; so, 38-0. I leave for my BB game counting my $$$.

 

Well, no need for a "spoiler alert", right ? You got it. USC routs ND in the 2nd half, 56-0 to cover the 14, 56-24. 

 

Anyway, after that I started betting games straight up, since I was often going 3-1 on these 4-team parlays.

 

On Saturdays, I'd bet 25/50/75 on maybe 4-8 games. Most weeks end up +, sometimes pretty decent $$$. On Sundays, I'd give some of it back. Couldn't pick the pros to save my life. So, I'd bet more on Saturdays & less on the NFL.

 

One Saturday, a VERY good one, I won about $900 or so. Hit like 9 of 10 individual bets. Hit 2 4-team parlay tickets for $100 each and even had a 9/10 ticket hit for another hundy(?).

 

So of course, even though I'd cut way back on the NFL, Sunday I went back,,,,,,,,,, and lost back about $250. 

 

So on the weekend, I'd won about $$650 or so.

 

But I was SO much more pissed off losing the $250 back on Sunday than I was winning the $8-900 on Saturday, I re-thought the whole betting thing and stopped. Cold turkey.

... Right there with you and one of the reason I never bet til several years ago my son talked me into betting on golf and the Bears  "just for fun". I hate losing money way more than I enjoy winning it. I am just not cut out for gambling. You certainly had a whirlwind though!

Go ahead and put up a few college picks if your would like. QQQ does that sometimes too.

 

The Playoff contest starts at the conclusion of the regular season.

Again Dark Knight all you need to know is on the 1st page.

 

Also do reread all of NSX's posts (regarding format for picks) so that you are able to post your Picks and Results in the proper fashion. You have to be diligent in getting your info in on time and your posts have to be done in the correct fashion.

Firstly, "Lock of the week". One does NOT get a Power Play every week so they are NOT synonymous.

 

 

Lock of the week = my best bet - THIS week.

 

Secondly, I posted it as a normal pick and asked everybody to check my work and nobody "corrected" me, not even the Dark Knight.

And do make sure you don't confuse yourself @TheDarkKnight_ when and if you do use a Pick as One of your (available every 4 weeks) POWER PLAYS .

 

Nobody else is calling one of there weekly Plays a Lock of the Week so we won't have any issue separating the two, but you might. Please do all that you can not to make extra work deciphering your Picks for @nsxguy and myself ( @touch).  Clarity is key.

No real LT, but guy who got shortest straw out for first game. Think his backup is Butcher Joe. The one positive is Cincy's DL is old. I know there will be lots of crocodile tears with this post. 🙃

... I selfishly wanted Maye to start this season although sitting a rookie and learning from a veteran while watching switching NFL defenses up close and personal from the sidelines is never a bad idea. But as you said, that Oline wouldn't give Maye much chance to sit in the pocket and make his reads let alone go through his progressions without getting hit.

After more than a decade of dominance in the northeast the Pats are now back to just regular if that. 

You had it dandy for quite awhile new England, now it's some other team in the division's turn.

What are your feelings about tonight's game?

Are we to believe that the green and yellow team that chisag despises is one of the new very competitive and fairly complete teams in the NFC?

I am still not sold on the Pack and have a feeling that tonight's contest will be a one sided affair with the Eagles dominating. Of course playing in Brazil might alter the vibe of the game and make the outcome different. I wonder how many free nights the players had to go see the sights of San Paolo? I think holding a NFL game in that country is not a smart move. I get England and Germany, but Brazil is too dangerous.
