Also, if people think that the refs wanted KC to win, then they would have thrown a few flags at the sidelines for late hits.  They did not, and it was the right thing to do... those were not late hits.  Once you factor in that Houston was known as a dirty and late hitting team, it all makes sense if you follow the league - just ask Bill Laimbeier about how your reputation matters.  Was there a single DPI or defensive hold all game?  DPI or Illegal Contact is the perfect way to benefit one team over another (anybody remember OSU vs Miami and the phantom PI call after the game was over?), not calling roughing on players who were warned and are being watched closely.

I kinda hate how both offensive and defensive holds kinda disappear in the postseason.  Pick a way and call it the same - I don't care which one.

I know that it is fun and easy for people to just blame refs, coordinators and kickers looking like Charlie Brown and Lucy, but that is way too simple.  This game was a failure to cover a guy who does not run conventional routes, the interior line of the Texans getting worked and the lack of depth at WR for Houston and not being able to consistently get off of press at the line.  I would listen to a dome/warm-weather team not knowing what to do in the cold and wind (Fairbairn).

no one is blaming refs for KC's win, but Anderson's hit is not in anyway a late hit/hit to the neck ... and the hit on the slide is atrocious ... Mahomes tried to get a late hit later in the game, which shows he knows (as every other qb) exactly what he's doing ... this has been an issue for more than the duration of the chief's run ... plus they were offsides on the fg and the right tackle is in the backfiend on too many plays ...

will anderson could've gone low and destroyed holmes ... he came in 'soft' since he saw the arm going forward ... and there's almost no contact to the head/neck area (i say there isn't any), so they could've reviewed it ... and it was 3rd down ... defend the refs all you want, it's a bs call ...

💯 personal foul calls need to be reviewable. Absolutely trash face mask call in the late game yesterday.

If people are going to complain about the refs, then why not the calls that go against the winning/hated team?  The holding call on Trey Smith was horrible.  So was the catch call on the sideline.  It just looks like blaming and whining when people only talk about one/losing side or calls just for one player.  Sour grapes.  It would seem like a easy thing for haters to crush the refs both ways, but you hardly ever see it happen also supporting sour grapes - Troy crushed the refs both ways, BTW, and people often hate his color commentary and entire threads on the internet are dedicated to hate on him.

The first rouging was 50/50.  The helmet did hit Mahomes face mask.  Soft call, but it happened.  If Anderson, Jr. wanted to come in soft, he has his arms out and hands to the chest with his helmet 3 feet from Mahomes.  The second one was stupid, but again... it was first down.  Even without the call, it is like 2nd and 5.  Again, what about the Texans rep for late hits and dirty plays and then a middle finger to the league in media down the stretch?

I am kinda shocked that the Texans are blaming the refs some.  This is a sign of a soft culture to me.  When KC was coming up and Patriots were getting all of the calls, Andy never let his team blame the refs in any way, even when Chris Jones got a 15 yard penalty on 3rd down for hitting Brady in the shoulder pads.

Offsides calls is another area that needs changed.  The refs usually will not call it at first and give a few warnings.  Just stop with the warnings and call it from the jump.  Seems easy to me.  It has always been this way since I can remember, but it is dumb.

Manning, Brady and even guys like Matt Ryan worked the refs a lot.  Everybody does it.  Guess it is worse if you are winning.  LeBron gets killed for it too, but if that means that you have a hand full of rings, then so be it.

I am OK with reviewing some personal foul calls.  However, if it needs to be 100%, neither of the ones in the first game get overturned... which makes fans even more mad.  There was helmet to face mask on the first one and some/tiny bit of contact on the second one and it likely gets upheld.  The shoulder grab on Commies was pretty bad and that one might get overturned.

I like the expedited replay stuff.  Just call it in to the ear of the head zebra.  I would expect that fans will be even more mad since only the obvious plays will get changed, just like receptions and stuff where it seems that people are rarely happy... even a sliver of doubt and the calls will stand.

Watch this and read through the first 10, or so, comments.  Some thing never change including fans missing the whole point of things...  and people wonder why nearly no team, player, the NFL or legit media member will give an ounce of credence to these types of complaints by the fans.

If you don't already, take a look a few times a week on reddit at your division memes.  They are usually some of the funniest things on the internet.  You have to be able to laugh at your own team, though.

The ones from Yesterday are pretty good:

I think all the blown calls are bad.

The NFC’s been a bloodbath this year. Way more talent and there’s a real possibility that none of the 3 teams with 14+ wins are in the conference championship game.

Just goes to show, regular season vs playoffs. Like MJ told Kerr after the Warriors got the regular season wins record and proceeded to lose in the playoffs.

There aren’t any trophies for regular season wins 😉

*Lions and Vikings both huge disappointments

Hoping LA can find a way to win in Philly. I mean, I didn’t expect em to beat Minny. So…

Indifferent in the late game. Just hope whoever wins can take the Chiefs

Chiefs are gonna get dog walked next week unless the defense can hold the Bills/Ravens to under 28 points.  Their offense is just can’t score and Mahomes has been average this year.

The Vikings were a fluke this year. Excited about JJ. I think the Lions will regress. They’ll be losing a ton of coordinators this year and I think all these players they have will wanna get paid or they’ll walk.

Everything about that franchise from its fan base, to the Mahomes family, and even the Swifties is insufferable.  Andy Reid is the only like-able person associated with the chiefs. Wasn’t a fan of the Patriots in their heyday (more out of jealousy) but I respected the heck out of Belichick and Brady and the whole “do your job” mindset.

Well said.
And for me it’s not bcs they are winning now. Couldn’t stand em before. But yeah, the winning def magnifies it! 😆 And when I see the awful color scheme all I see is…

Did Lions peak too early, just lose too many defensive players, or run into a buzzsaw?  I know that they would have won if the refs called the hit on Goff during the pick six, and all, so the refs cost them.  All of the trick plays either shows a hubris or desperation - I don't know which.  I am kinda happy for Commie fans who suffered Dan Snyder for too long.

Should be good day today, which is fine with me since winter finally hit Colorado and it is -4 degrees.

Too funny.  The hit you’re referring to was the block on Goff inside the 5?  So it still would have been a pick and the Commanders would have been first down on the 20 or so.  Man up and admit they just flat got beat.  Same as my Vikings got stomped.

I absolutely loathe these Winter Wonderland games, especially because it's the Playoffs.

The NFL is a gazillion-dollar entity, the richest in sports. Surely each team can afford a roof on their building.

The very shape of the football presents an excessive randomness of a bouncing ball. The crazy shape is enough. Rain, blizzard-like conditions, and howling wind ? Who needs it ?

I've been a competitor all my life and I want to see the better player/team win, not some fluke, and as said earlier, the football bouncing is random enough for me without bone-chilling cold and/or terrible footing and slipping and sliding all day long.

Basically, I want as much luck as possible taken OUT of the/every game. I want skill to determine the outcome.

And yeah, I know. "Overcome adversity" LOL I get it,,,,,, when one is in survival mode on top of Mount Everest, but not in a team competition.

And yes, I get it's the same for both teams.

And yes, same thing for baseball.
