It is cool that 21 teams have made a conference championship game in the last decade.  Even though there are some dynasties, the NFL offers more parity than most other leagues.

Still struggling to understand why the Bills traded the 10th pick in the 2017 draft to KC when they could have had Mahomes.

Good thing they got Allen in 2018 or fans would have burned down the city.

NFL GM is a job I wouldn’t wish upon my worst enemy. Picking a QB outta college is like a box of chocolates

NFL GM I think is like any other leadership job.  Have a bad owner and the job will suck.  Have OK owners and you can do OK with success here or there.  Have good owners and the job looks pretty easy.  I will take the job just for the paycheck and book deal and TV appearance fees that comes when you do eventually get fired.

Sold a tech company a while back and most CTO/CEOs that wanted to partner with us were good, but their board of directors and investors were all over the map.  We never partnered with bad investors or BODs even if the product was a good fit... just not worth it.  I think that this is why you see leaders from bad companies get other opportunities with better companies.

Al Davis used to say that GMs and head coaches had a 10 year lifespan.  After that, the message gets tired.  I am sure that Al would have kept Pete, Andy or Bill (as a coach) longer than 10 years, but he was likely mostly right.  I think that Al would have fired Jerry Jones as GM when I was still in High School.  I am not sure what Al would have done with Tomlin.  Most people just remember the old punchline Al, but the dude was really good in his early years.

yep ... Mahommes wasn't a slam dunk anymore than every other failed first round qb was, and even #1 picks ... i will say i always thought manning was the obvious choice over leaf, and i though luck was obviously #1 as well ... but anyone else? ... you just don't know ...

Going with scores today.  Anybody else want to call their shot?

Eagles 23-15.  Eagles bigs win this game on both sides of the ball.  Hurts just hands off and hits wide open guys off of play action.  Cannot imagine that all of a sudden that Kliff is going to be able to dial it up against a really good D since he never really has been able to before and the Washington O Line might not be good enough to let Daniels go off script enough.

Chiefs 32-21.  Cannot reconcile how Buffalo needed to be +3 to win last week by 2 points, beat the Pats by 3, gave up 42 to Lions and 44 to the Rams down the stretch.  Milano might play and be a bit compromised and while is good at guarding TE, he is never good against Kelce.  If it is close, KC knows how to win.  All of that said, a few plays here or there probably decide this game and I feel like Buffalo has a better chance to win than Washington does.

Just hoping for no new injuries today.  Ref blaming and whining never matters, but injuries to key players really does.

Little known NFL fact.  In 1990 the SB Loser ring, aka AFC Champion ring, was limited to the same size as the Alaska Bush Pilot Assn. retirement ring. Mr Bill Polian was not pleased. Jim Kelly was not pleased. Marv Levy said his would go in a drawer so he didn't care.

OK. Let's end this journey. GO BILLS!!.

The Chiefs will never beat the allegations that the refs don’t give them the calls. I’m not into conspiracy but it’s so blatant obvious. They’ll never be able to beat them.

This run they’re on will be questionable by fans and outsiders.

At least follow the advice of the Bitter McBittersons on Reddit and call that catch incomplete because it moved.  The ball can totally hit the ground if it doesn't move, don't look crazy by just saying that it hit the ground.  🙂  Be sure and mention about needing replay...wait?  What?

Going back to last week, did everybody see how both Buffalo and KC hit each other without using their heads or going high?  Discipline and good coaching.  Houston might have made it another round if they had any.  Just watch the tackle of Allen on the 4th and 10 pass and see why luck and refs are not the issue.

Even though I thought that the call on the field would stand since I did not see the ball move with 3 or 4 hands on it, I wanted the Worthy pass to get ruled incomplete.  That score was too fast and it allowed Buffalo to get 6 (7 if they are not dumb).  It would have been first and ten from about the 20-25 and KC could have salted away all of the clock before getting their Tuddy or FG - even if just a FG and Buffalo had no chance to answer, it would have been +3 in the final minutes instead of +1.  That call helped Buffalo.

I like McDermott, but he still has a little way to go.  I don't understand how it is so hard to just take points until you know that you need them.  If McDermott just kicks XPs, then they have 31 and KC has no reason to go for 2 and they have 31 also.  I know that the game never would have played out the same way, but it is a fun mental exercise.  When has a coach who has ever gotten cute with the analytics and math ever gotten too far in the playoffs?  That stuff is for when you play Seattle in Week 4 or something.  I don't think that Buffalo can do better than McDermott, but he needs to adjust a bit, IMO.

Last week we needed replay.  This week got replay.  Now we need electric ball spotting and ground hitting sensors and stuff.  That will come soon too probably.  What then?  Will we need redo's and take backs?  None of this will matter.  The good teams will get 4 yards on 4th down instead of getting inches.  The good teams will complete passes for 2 points and mash into the line that knows what is coming.  It has always been like this and always will be.  If you need to convert many fourth downs and throw fake punts, then you are just not as good - you can steal a game or two like this in the regular season but it is harder against winning teams in the playoffs.  Who else thought that Washington was destined to lose when they tossed that fake punt?  It is a sign of a team that knew that they needed a miracle.

If I was a script guy, I would look more to the possibility that the NFL created behind the scenes rules that:

Forced Buffalo to trade #10 for Mahomes

Forced Buffalo to trade #27 for Xaviar Worthy

Sign Perine after nobody claimed him off of waivers

Sign Juju after nobody claimed him off of waivers

Get Kareem Hunt off of his couch a few weeks into the season

Trade a song for Hopkins

Do not hire Spags to be a head coach - which is likely to happen again unless NOLA does it.  This one amazes me.

Create a rule that a Guard cannot play Left Tackle and a backup fill in at Guard

I get the fatigue.  I had Patriots, Yankees, KU Basketball and certainly Bulls fatigue.  Still recognized that they were just better.  The Yankees one was the worst for me since they had more resources and not exactly a fair playing field, but this is baseball and need to live with it.  There is a chance that last year and this year were when somebody in the AFC was supposed to get KC - their young skill guys are developing and look out if they keep Spags and get a legit left tackle and Pat can sit back there and throw bombs again.

I most definitely don’t feel that it’s anything as blatant as a “script”. I feel It’s more like the refs gently helping to obtain a league desired outcome. Giving KC the 50/50 calls. When in doubt, err in KCs favor… They are so good it doesn’t take much to stack the deck. Honestly didn’t believe it myself until this week. The NFL is essentially a massive TV show. Just like all TV shows, ya gotta direct the narrative and give the ppl what sells 🤷🏼‍♂️
Id be willing to bet anything ratings will be WAY higher 💰💰💰 with Taylor’s BF in the SB. Not to mention the chance at a first ever Three-peat.

Just read the last few post.  Interesting discussion.

i don’t gamble so im pretty clueless when it comes to sports betting but are any of these 50/50 calls that go a certain direction impacting the game enough to benefit the house or sports book company?  Probably the wrong lingo….

I find all the betting stuff super cringe. But this is 💯 real
