Tucson Trip in February/March

We are planning a trip to Tucson late February early March. I’ve been trying to get an idea of rates in the peak season to Tucson. We went to Phoenix February 24 and definitely paid a premium and are hoping to save some money going down to Tucson. 

 

We will play 6 rounds - 2 36 hole days with rounds single rounds on arrival and departure days

 

We have been looking at the following courses, let me know if there are others you’d recommend. Looking for some ideas of ballpark prices in February/March. 

 

Arizona National

Starr Pass

Tubac

Ventana Canyon

Ventana Mtn

Tucson National Catalina

Sewailo

Quarry Pines

Add the Preserve as a good option at good rates - very cool course and fun.

 

Rates will be less in Tucson of course.  All those you listed will be over $100, up to $200 depending on days and times. (except maybe Tubac).  With the dynamic pricing that the courses use now - who knows though.

Thanks! Last year we spent $1,200 for 5 rounds in Phoenix/Scottsdale in February, which honestly we could have done much worse.
We are budgeting about $800 for 6 rounds this time. Hoping we can make it work if we grab a twilight round to offset the morning rounds on the two 36 hole days.

I paid $125 for Starr Pass on a weekday morning last March. See the "2024 Tucson Course Conditions" thread. Tucson National will probably be $175-$225 unless it's a twilight round with risk of not finishing. Arizona National and Quarry Pines are usually under $100, especially on weekdays.

I would drop Tubac, long drive, and Quarry, only one decent nine.  Might add Dove Mtn. Ventana, Dove, and National will be most expensive.  Sewailo, Starr, Arizona and Preserve less expensive.

Probably Dove Mountain - they have done a lot of nice renovation, clean up and repair.  I enjoyed it the last time out and looking forward to playing again.

Either Dove or Ventana.  Ventana alternates the courses each day between members and guests. I prefer Mountain to Canyon, but both are good and probably have the best greens in Tucson if that matters.

I've played the bolded courses many times but don't recall prices.  Earlier this year played Canoa Ranch and Tubac GC where the wind from the south can reach 4 clubs on Anza/Rancho; boy is that 😜 a kick in the nether region.

 

Will be back in Tucson later in Nov, and probably play Green Valley - Canoa Ranch Par 70, 71.2/139, and only 6500+yds; condition varies, tight as hell bring straight ball, Tubac and Ventana courses, maybe Tuscon National.

Ah, Ventana Canyon Course.   I describe it as a nice cart ride, interrupted on occasion by a golf hole.

 

The only course I played where you need a map to find the next hole

Have you booked yet?  We just booked our annual trip to Scottsdale in February.  Next year we are considering a Tucson trip so was curious on difference in pricing

The worst course in Phoenix area will be $100; Only a few courses in Tuk will be above that.
