2nd Swing is looking like a scam

Is anyone else having problems with getting a credit for clubs sent to Second Swing? 
They say you will have payment in 3 to 5 days after the order has been completely processed. 
It has been 9 days. The phone number they list hangs up on you after one ring. My email with inquiry has not been answered.

It is only $450 but frustrating. I would have given the clubs away to a high school kid before “donating them” to second swing!

Theyre a pretty big company so i dont think theyve stolen your clubs.

 

Callaway takes 12-18 days (and last year was 30 days) to refund trades so 2nd Swing's 3-5 days is pretty fast if they actually did it.

100% you will get paid but 2nd swing definitely takes longer than some.  I've had them take 2+ weeks on trade ins.

Not the end of the world but when they control and establish expectations I guess I would like to see them meet the expectations they set.

We will see when/if they come through.

My clubs were delivered on August 26 to them and I received the check yesterday in the mail.

It is what it is but…..this will be my last go with them. I am guessing losing my business will not be a catastrophic loss for them :-).

I’ve bought from 2nd swing several times in the distant past, but I was recently looking at some clubs and couldn’t believe the pricing. $150 for clubs that were $90-$100 at GG and $100-$120 on CPO. I ultimately bought from CPO- they were better condition for less $. 2nd swing has great inventory- likely a function of offering quick payment on trades 😀. Sorry that didn’t happen for you OP. I just gave my buddy a box so he could ship his trades in there I’ll let him know to adjust his payment timing expectations.

Sunday will be two weeks since they said I would have payment in 3 to 5 days.

Subject line is intentionally abrasive. 

I don’t know why it should be ok for second swing to not know their business.

Plus:

- not answer email

- not answer the phone number they say to call

That's not what a scam is though. It's intentionally misleading.

I am pleased most have had positive outcomes. Having said that, for you that have decided to “defend” them, take a shot at calling the number they list for questions about trade in transactions:

612-208-1455

Let me know if you get past one ring please.

Please note my original post where I asked if others were having issues. If it is user error on my part I want to know and I will own that.

If the problem is on the other side, then I want other members to know that.

For those who don’t have a dog in this fight why are you looking for one?

My sons and I have dealt with 2nd Swing for a few years with no issue, but I will admit that some recent transactions have not gone as smoothly as in the past.  Something changed on their end and not for the better.

What's the point of posting this on a public forum to start a discussion then complain when people don't post what you want them to? You're literally the only one with a "dog in this fight" in a situation where the topic is YOUR trade in.

I worked at the 2nd Swing HQ during Covid and there was a 2 month backup of clubs being processed, the delay could simply be that there is a large backlog as we are in the time of year when golf shops start sending in their demo clubs.

Using the word "scam" is hardly justified and unnecessarily dramatic.. They're a massive online retailer and many people use them. Not some fake online obscure shop that no one knows about.

Why didn't you try calling customer service? Took me 10 seconds to google this and I got through on 2nd ring.

Because I used the number they specified on the WRX link for help with trade ins: 612-208-1455.

I will try this one now though.

 

The only feathers I intended to ruffle here were Second Swing’s. I get that not everyone has had the same experience and that is good. 
And yes, everyone has the opportunity to say whatever they want. I was not as appreciative as I should have been for the help in seeing that I have zero reason to expect a large company to do what they say they will do. I guess if it were a local store with three employees I could then expect accountability?

This ended up being the answer. Super courteous customer service representative said he had no idea that number was not working nor why I had not gotten the credit.

He said he would send it now.

 

Without being given this number to call, it sounds like I would have been waiting a very long time.

I’ve dealt with them several times without difficulty via e mail and chat, and one time, via phone. 
They are not a scam. 
The last time I did a trade in, it did take about 10 business days for it to go from a received status to being paid. 
If you email, use the “ Questions on Current Order” form.  They have several options but that one worked well for me. 
The Chat works best towards resolution  if you reference the order number in the first line of your initial query. 

I hope you get it resolved soon.

So they are basically one week(5 business days) over the estimate and you call them a scam?
