Xwave and lighter head 440 max was really solid. Stupid straight. Definitely not as fast as the qi35ls and aretera combo that I also had. I need to do some work to get the qi35 swingweight dialed in and try that too.

 

Confirmation of speed was done via quad on the course. I think I topped out at 159 with the ping/Xwave and 162 with the qi35ls

 

Crazy how stiff the shaft feels on a waggle but how smooth it is when you swing.

If you go flex for flex, XW is not the longest but def the straightest.  That was what it was built for.  However, if you go down a flex, you will get the distance plus the most accurate.

Been inactive with the testing lately but just got the 6S out on the course yesterday for the first time. Certainly a noticeable difference in flex but not loose by any means. It did fly straight but I think I spun it a bit too much and launch got up on me a little bit. I’m using a mini so slightly higher spin but I’d guess I was in the mid 3000’s with the stiff when I’m usually 2400-2600 with the X flex and a more penetrating flight. Could’ve been a swing issue as well but my swing feels pretty consistent 

 

I could certainly game either but when I’m humming the X flex is just point and shoot

What driver? You may want to consider a GT2 - I will ATEST this combo (GT2 + 5S) is fast and forgiveness thru the roof after having used it for months now even thru this gof-unfriendly wetness and cold winter, the numbers are shockingly good for me. 

 

I've lost more balls disappearing in the middle of the fairway gopher holes (thank you LS City Green Keepers) than I have hooking the ball 🤦‍♂️😂

 

Also the XWave 5S will handle better than the Ventus Blue 6S. I have the latter OG and I have not touched it in years because other Korean shafts are so, so good like Proxima and now XWave

I’ll find out if it’s the 6X or not.  He did use the Proxima 5X in his test, which I find interesting.  He also used the AutoFlex SF505XX.

 

If you notice, the X Wave had the least amount of curve and the lowest spin rate.  It’s freaky, as it’s so straight but really low spin.  Just a fairway finder and as SwingBlues can attest, you can just bomb it and keep it in play.

Yes that could be the crazy unicorn.  X Flex to keep it steady but then in the 40g to really get some speed!                 X Wave is making this special for a Pro Golfer.  They might come out with this model later. If they do, I’m buying one.

Would be interesting to see some high speed video of the strikes and more info regarding path and such. Matt's description of what happened is playing into it but nice to see everything that caused the spin numbers and final results where the highest head and ball speeds weren't getting it done.

First time hitting it at the range today. Didn’t bring out the quad with me to check strike location. Waggle test is nothing like my friend’s autoflex. 5S Went into my ai smoke max 10.5.

 

Holy cow. This thing is straight. Higher launch than the OG ventus blue 6S and keeps on hanging in the air. Even on toe strikes there wasn’t much curvature and still carried a good amount. Definitely longer than the ventus.

 

Taking it out to the course tomorrow for the first time. Will bring out the quad to compare some ball speed/launch/spin numbers with the OG ventus blue.

 

Ummm what’s the fairway wood equivalent? 🔥🔥🔥

another positive review for X Wave.  The shaft just wants to go straight.  I think if Alex Elliot went down 1 flex he would see even more distance.  His swing speed is not the highest and I’m glad he hit a 6S but he would have seen even more distance but he still got really good numbers for the swing speed he put on it.

Played in a tourney today with some work friends and some customers.  I absolutely had a blast and it felt so good to just point and shoot today with my Elyte TD paired with my X Wave.  Golf is just much fun when you know you are going to hit it long and straight.  Only missed 2 fairways out of 14 and it was on a short par 4 that was playing up and I hit it into the green side bunker.  The other was because I cut the corner on a par 5 and I missed the fairway by a few feet.  Still got to the green in 2.  I can’t say it enough, get an X Wave, go down a flex and hit some straight bombs.  And I mean straight down the middle bombs!

Do you feel the chart provided by X-wave is accurate? I’ve always been between Stiff and X-flex and I went with a 6S.

I would say those are accurate if you are just looking for keeping the spin down and you already hit it far enough and are worried about being accurate.  I can add or take off spin so I don’t worry about going down as I can still keep enough spin off and get the extra distance.  I know some have gone down and they spin it more than they wanted and went back the recommended flex.  For me the 6X was really stiff but so straight but not as long as the Proxima or Ventus TR black.  It was straighter but not longer.  When I went down, the first couple ballooned but I learned to keep the spin off and now I get high launching bombs that just carry and when Spring comes, I’ll get extra roll.

just stumbled across this thread and was intrigued until I saw the price!  yowza.... sorry to be that guy.     I do understand paying the price for exactly what you want... just was a bit of a shock.     Glad you guys are seeing great performance from these.

I got the 6S and so far so good.  Not sure if anyone else ran into something like I did when I went to Autoflex, but I found the ball launches quite a bit higher.  I had a 10 degree GT3 (lofted down to 9.25), and with my usual shaft I got 2800 spin and about 100' peak height.  I put the X-Wave in my head and I found the launch was like 15-17 degrees, spin was like 2900, apex was 120', and descent angle was mid 40's.  Talked to a buddy and borrowed an 8 degree head and it was amazing.  Launch came down to 12, spin was 2150, Apex was 90 (slightly low), and decent angle came down to 35.  I gained 17 yards carry and 20 yards overall just switching to the shaft and optimizing the head.  Best part is the direction control is so stable and not "whippy" like the Autoflex (which didn't stay in the bag long.

I’ve tested it with a Ping G440 LST 9* brand new.  I was testing all the new heads vs each other.  I only hit about 15 balls so I’ll probably list it on the BST soon.  I know people love Ping and I wanted to as well, but it wasn’t about the X Wave, I just didn’t like the sound or feel of the ball coming off the face.  As for weight, launch, etc. everything else was normal, it’s just a preference for me.  XW had no issues being paired with the Ping.
