I haven’t posted too much lately as I’ve been really busy with work and other commitments but I’ve got NCGA Sectional Finals next week and I need to get some practice in.

 

got off of work and went to the range as quick as I could.  After 15 warm up swings with the PW, I started to try and ramp it up with the driver.  Earlier in the year (Jan and Feb) I was disappointed as I was only around 105-108 on smooth swings and got up to 111-112 but had to really push it.  Today, took out the Mevo and never felt like I was going hard.  Nice smooth swings with the range balls.  All dead straight or a slight fade.  My Mevo only does carry distances but not bad for an old man.  I absolutely love the X Wave!

Has anyone moved from a velocore blue 5s to the equivalent shaft? I love the blue, just got the itch to try things out. Anywhere to test these?

This may just be my overly active OCD, but is anyone else getting bag wear on the shaft? I get the tools not jewels thing, but my ocd does not concur lol.

So Sectionals are over.  I finished tied for 4th.  Not bad but I could have played much better.  Had just a nightmare 1st day and I was a walking zombie.  No sleep again and it showed.  It looked like I was in the bottom 3rd but I was really tied for the 3rd worst score with 6 other guys.  Lol. Just lots going on in my life and got to the hotel late, waited until I could talk to my wife (She in Ukraine visiting her parents) and never got to sleep.  2nd day, wow, major difference.  A full nights rest, Starbucks and a fabulous showing as I rocketed up the leaderboard.  Actually had the best round of anyone on the 2nd day.  Drove the ball like a champ and my short game finally caught up with the long game.  
 

X Wave was rock solid and left me wedges or short irons in on almost every hole.  Just a great feeling knowing you can step up to a tight fairway with OB and hazards and just stripe it down the middle.  Hole 10 was a short 310 hole with OB all along the left, bunkers surrounding the hole to an elevated green.  I actually drove it past the green.  Great experience and hopefully I will get another chance next year and maybe can finish with a medal.  
 

I’m hoping I can test out the 4X this summer and give some comparison numbers vs the 5S.

I spoke to them by messages a few times and their ad claimed "best offer" which was about 15% off list. we spoke about the different flex and weight and he gave me a price for one then when I said i wanted the 5 (reg - stiff, I think) he jacked it up past list.

I was done at that point since it was obviously a bait and switch type of thing, which ever flex you actually wanted he would jack up the price. It was not really about the price, just the attitude.
