Makino Japan Putters

I searched here and the JDM forum but didn't see a dedicated thread. They've recently caught my attention with their collab with SSC. Then I saw this on their IG and I think I'm in love. I bit pricey for me to game, but boy does it look good.

Anyone have experience with the brand? How do they perform?

I've been following them since they basically started posting on IG. Extremely nice putters but haven't owned one since I don't believe they make lefties.

The one thing that stands out is for a Japanese brand they're not just making 360g+ putters like a lot of other brands in Japan, but that's popular there.

I've reached out a few times over the past 3 years, and, unfortunately, no lefties anytime soon. Hopefully, someday!!

I have heard good things. I missed a chance to get on on auction for $400 when I didn’t know what they were and I should have. Kyoei allegedly does there forging.

400 is a great price for a makino if the condition is good.

Anyone picking up the latest SSC collab? Looks like a bigger run because it’s still not sold out. I am back after a blade again after trying mallets the last few years and have always wanted a Newport 2 but don’t like modern Scotty’s. This one has me intrigued.

Also good news lefties they're looking to make some lefties. They asked on IG what models lefties want, gave my info. Hopefully see what is produced and how soon.

I'd definitely consider one as they make some really nice putter.

I've reached out to them every 6 months for the past four years--they've always told me, "soon." Hopefully, this is sincere on their end, and we'll see some offerings within the next year!

I'd think so especially since they posted a question and the background pic was some lefty irons or wedges.

I just want a 21A1MM, like one of the early Fly Girl or Experiment models in 303, don't need GSS.

Plus I think the cost of that would be cheaper for me than something from the US right now.

I just purchased a MA3 21A2S version in black boron while in Tokyo recently (will post a review shortly). Without a doubt as fine of quality and design as any putters I’ve had (and I’ve owned most brands over the years). Makino is producing some exception designs and finishes. Plus unique, very solid feeling.
