Vessel Player V

I've never seen a Vessel in a store. Mine just arrived and have to say I'm really impressed. This is no Sun Mountain, so much nicer. Looks like I'll be selling the Titleist hybrid I just got because it does not even compare.

Just received mine. My bag seems to curve slightly moonshaped from top to the bottom. It also slightly rocks when stood up straight.
 

Not saying these are functional issues, but wondering if it’s normal or I should have expected a straighter, non rocking bag.

I recently shopped these and noticed the same thing on the V and V Pro that I looked at.  The left side of the bag seemed to curve inward, which made the bag look a little odd from that side.  I think it’s just the way those bags are designed, rather than something wrong with your bag.

When using the bag on a cart, the Player V Pro Stand bag, its best to have the woods in the slots nearest the front of the cart for ease of selection. Then the irons and wedges to the rear. Has anyone done this and is it workable?  The large extended top handle seems like it might be in the way. 
 

Also , will this bag fit in a Club Glove collegiate travel bag?

Just received my Player V Pro black croc last week. 3 rounds done with it, carrying. It’s a very solid bag I have to say, as long as nothing breaks. The water bottle pockets on the sides are a joke tbh, but I can live with them. Would prefer a non-magnetic durable pocket. 
 

The main downside for a European must be the price. Tried ordering from the US site and shipping fees totaled 360 USD. Went and ordered from the UK site and shipping was around 50 EUR. Then ended up paying 190 EUR worth of taxes and customs duties. It is roughly a 650 EUR (~740 USD) bag for Europeans and I’d say that is a bit crazy.

Why are the brittle holders a joke? I find them to be sufficient?

You always have a bottle, so there is no point in a pocket that can be folded away. The fabric used is also soft and won’t last is constant use.

I like that they fold personally, but I also have minimal use for them.   Since I ride or walk with a push cart my bottle sits in one of the carts and not the bag.  If I had to carry, I could see why they would be annoying.  I liked how Taylormade does the bottle holder on their staff bags, and would probably work well on the Vessel bag, but it would mean losing a magnetic pocket.

I agree about the bottle holders; always been a thing that annoyed me about Vessels.  I greatly prefer Ping Hoofer (or even Hoofer Lite) bottle holders.  
 

Water bottle pockets aside; I love my Player V Pro DXR.  It’s a fantastic hybrid bag.

Ok ok. There seem to also be a few downsides to the Player V Pro.
 

Today I tried my first round with my Clicgear trolley and the Player V Pro. Quite disappointed tbh. It’s the most commonly used trolley and almost the only brand we see on courses daily. The Vessel bag is not compatible, while all my previous bags have worked well with the same trolley. The top strap of the trolley does not work with the V Pro and the bag keeps on turning to its side while mounted. Also, the legs that are folded in do not position themselves in a sensible way in the trolley, but rather contribute to the bag not staying in place. I bought this bag as something I can carry or push in a trolley. Only seems to do one of those things well. 😕
 

Another annoying thing I noticed today is the sharpness of the plastic parts next to the putter slot of the 7-way top. My LAB putter grip touched one of those sharp plastic parts and the grip got damaged. I wonder if Vessel could get my putter re-gripped…

I think the fact they fold is awesome. It looks great . I too worry about the longevity of that fabric but I absolutely think the bottle holder pockets are wonderfully done

You need to buy an attachment that holds the bag firmly in place. It works great

Are both the Player V and Player V Pro waterproof or only the Pro? The website isn't super clear as it just mentions "weather-resistant materials" (doesn't specifically mention waterproof).

The vinyl used on V, same as IV (i own) is somewhat rain proof. The Pro, from experience is a a lot less water resistant.  The V Pro is a great bag, Banked 6 rounds with it, no complaints.

@MountainKing do you use the top straps or just sit the back in the top lock section? I used my player V pro for the first time the other day and felt like I couldn't get the top straps of my bagboy nitron around it properly so I just sat it in the top lock section.

On the Nitron the V Pro fit perfectly into the top lock.   I took the straps off and never used em with the bag.

Anyone with the DXR Players bag willing to post pictures?  Im between the Players DXR and SM Matchplay and was curious to see how real life photos look with some use.
