New Ping Moonlander Stand Bag Sighting! With pics

Really cool looking new stand model from Ping.   Tag stated it has 6 pockets and it weights 4.5lbs which seems high for this minimalist looking bag. Material is similar to that of Hoofer.  Bag does have double straps. 
 

New G440 clubs in the bag too.

Great looking bag, but if this is meant to be something in the line that competes with/replaces the CEL, they've got a ways to go on the weight 🤔

Looks like and updated Moonlite with legs.  Hoofer Lite top @madeinguam81?  I think I see a snap for the hood - wonder where that is since there's no back pad.

agreed. I'm not sure where all the weight is coming from that looks lighter than the Titleist players 4 carbon which is around 3 lbs?

Hmmm...looks great.  Would've been nice if they went for at least 3.5.  Cra-Z lite says 3.25.  Maybe they are going for something in between Cra-Z and Hoofer Lite (listed at 5), but only .5LB less than Hoofer lite.  Like I said 3.5 or less would have been ideal.

This looks like Ping’s version of the bag I’m currently gaming - the Jones Rover Stand. 
 

I had a Craz-E Lite and liked it a lot but the parachute-like material may not be for everyone.

I had the same thought and I’m surprised the Moonlander isn’t lighter. This bag trades a top handle for a hip pad.

Looks nice. Like you all, I’m unsure of the purpose. Wonder if they’re phasing out a model in the future.

I tried to get some new ball pouch blanks to embroider for the golf team and they told me the Mascot bag was not in the system. I wonder if this is the new bag for schools to use for teams.

The Mascot was basically a no frills or possibly previous model Hoofer Lite. I’m guessing they’re just pushing the Hoofer Lite as the custom bag option. 
 

The Moonlander is a pretty unique bag model and brand new to the market. I doubt they’d go all in and use an unproven model for their custom team bags.

Speaking of the previous team bags, I wish Ping would bring back the strap system used on the voyage. The main strap was retractable. When you put the bag down the strap would retract back into its slot along the spine. I like how the strap was always in the same place and was really easy to locate and grab without looking.

Is one of the features a 1.5 lb. lead weight in the bottom?  Because there’s no way that bag weighs 4.5 lbs.

Not necessarily since PING is the only company that has accurate advertised weights from my experience.  For example, the Titleist Carbon weighs over a lb more than advertised, while the Sun Mountain 2.5+ weighs about 0.5 lb more than marketed.

Ping measures weight with all straps/accessories. I believe my Titleist Carbon was 4.2lbs 3lbs-12oz with straps.

 

 

EDIT: My mistake. I double checked. the Carbon was 3lbs-12oz on my scale.

interesting. 
I typically use an SM 2.5 which SM states is 2.9 lbs. I now wonder if that’s without the straps.
