Yes, (sadly) I figured the under 50 folks might not be too familiar with Linda.

Lately after a nice shot I’m using “one in a row” more often than I’d like.

One guy in our group will say “Nice par” when someone hits a tee or approach shot to a couple of feet.

 

If someone is having a bad day putting encourage them by saying “You’re actually putting really good. You’re just illiterate today.”

When I first got into this game 30+ years ago, my dad was my coach. Growing up he'd always tell me, "son, it's not the clubs, swing, or talent you have to worry about. The 6" between your ears will always be the toughest part about this game." (Your brain)

 

That tidbit of advice has saved a good number of my rounds, and honestly something that I contribute my current hci to. It's not easy to shrug off a bad shot and I've seen friends spiral down that mental rabbit hole in the middle of a round because they couldn't get "the 6" between their ears" figured out. I learned to laugh them off, and it's funny to watch the looks I get in competitive rounds when I mishit a shot and then chuckle.

Seemed like "oh well" was the saying of the morning. After two Sub 80 rounds in a row, today was a humbling 87 on a easy course.

 

Nothing worked after the driver or 4 wood.
