Admittedly it doesn't make total sense, but people get the gist.  I like it more than some variation of...that second guys pretty good.

Not "golf sayings", per se, but a few dark humor shot call-outs that make the rotation in my group:

 

1. "the ol' Rex Ryan" or shortened to "damn, Rex'd it." -- Toe job

 

2. off the tee:  "ahh, Tiger Line" -- Hard left pull-hook, usually crossing over other lanes(fairways) of adjacent holes. (post accident)

 

3. "Licked the Toad" -- lining up a highlight reel-worthy tour level shot even though everyone knows you don't have the skills for it, and going through with it anyway.  Blocked out by the 1st tree, 2nd tree has a tiny window between branches, short-sided bunker protected pin, thick rough, 180 out...  Looks like a high draw slingy 6 iron through that little window right at the pin is the obvious play here...  Proceed with inevitable failure. "Yeah, might have licked the toad on that one."

My favorites are: "It ain't how; it's how many", "Never up; never in", "That putt was an Ann Margaret; It looked good for a long time" and "a birdie made with a drive sliced into the right rough beats a par made by Tiger Woods".

That's usually when I tell someone that they had the right club but the wind took it.

My playing partner told me this story a couple of days ago. He was playing in Ireland, and had an old caddie. After three putting for the 4th time, his caddie put his hand on his shoulder to console him, and said,

 

"Three putting is like master bation. You feel shame, but you know you're going to do it again."
