I have a 21 Hoofer 14 and I can’t wait to give that bag a Viking burial due to the tangle. The truth is everything else about the bag is pretty much perfect for me. I’m going to get a regular Hoofer and deal. It’ll have less tangle from what I’m reading so it should be fine. I use a pushcart 90% of the time and a cart the other 10% for those keeping score at home

So added weight but hopefully more durable? Originally went away from CEL because me and everyone I know that used one eventually had it break. Usually the spine of the bag or club dividers.

Three questions on the Hoofer Tour. Is it the same pocket layout as the regular Hoofer? Is it slightly larger? I assume it comes in a pleather material, is that easy to clean? Since it’s white keeping it looking good might be hard for a pushcart walker.

Moonlander looks like last year's Moonlite with with legs.

 

New Moonlite looks great with the two-way top and single strap only.  Short set dream.

It isn’t a big deal. I have Jumbomax grips….the bag has almost no bearing on how much your clubs tangle. It’s user error and grip size. As long as I’m thoughtful and a little patient it is fine (Hoofer Lite bag.)

 

No carry-sized bag is going to let you ram a club home or whip it out seamlessly when there are 13 more clubs in there.

I just don't understand the systematic issue over at Ping with colorways. Not only is someone creating these but someone is then approving them. It's like they want to lose market share or something.

Yeah, they are constantly underwhelming. I do kind of like the Moonlander limited bags. Want to see these in person, but will probably get the navy/green.

The only two I’ve found with no tangle was the callaway fairway series and jones trouper, with the jones having a better stand mechanism and putter slot.

 

i suspect it has to do with the bag having a structured flat bottom that doesn’t lay flat on the ground like the ping and the others

I believe this is the same info from last release and nothing new, which was really just adding the grid at the bottom to try and keep clubs in their dividers. 

 

I have not been a hater of PING for club tangle, but why can't they modify their design like titleist P4 where the divideres go to the bottom? They both have similar integral stands. Is it due the the strap pulling the legs in when lifting the bag? Kind of a horse a piece with the P4 leg droop and the HL tangle?

Does it tangle? Yes. 

 

But...

1) It's such a great bag to carry

2) I minimize it by inserting / retrieving clubs with the bag vertical rather than with legs deployed.  I got used to this motion pretty quick.  

3) I realized that even when it does tangle during insertion sometimes, it'll resolve itself as I walk comfortably to my next shot.  So, I put the club in, put the bag on, and let it do its thing.  Action through inaction.

I haven't seen this but this is exactly what I hoped when I saw the Moonlander.  The Moonlite of the past few years had kind of lost its way in trying to be a legless Hoofer Lite for a full set of clubs.  I hope the vertical strap is more prominently vertical once more...

One of those odd ones who doesn't feel their balance or straps are anything special, so the tangle is def not worth it to me

LOL and i'm dumb enough to have to prove that to myself multiples times, cause I figured something magic would be different.

Last year was my latest attempt.  Lasted probably a couple rounds if that before I sold it.

The new moonlight looks good.  Single divider and just one strap - kinda turning the clock back.  Played a half set yesterday with my Moonlite and there's really too many slots.

I got the blackout end of last year also and agree it's the best-looking bag in the lineup. I have also long wanted some of the camo college versions to be released to the public. Don't need the school logo or anything, just the pattern. Would love the black camo bag. I had my local store call last year about ordering custom bags, figured worse case I keep 2 and sell 1, Ping said they weren't offering the black camo in a custom option anymore.

If you click on that soft goods link in one of the previous posts, it looks like there is something called the Zip program. Where you could potentially customize a camo bag, it says no order minimum and 60 day lead time. Not sure why that's an option but the other custom option is 3 bag minimum and 180 lead time...waiting 6 months for a bag to come in is ridiculous.

Happy to hear. That's one of the reasons why I use my old Moonlite still rather than the newer one from the past few years. 

 

The other reason is the stand up strap.  In the recent versions, the stand up strap droops a lot more than in the older versions with the plastic.  Does the new one stand up better than the model of the past few years? Or, is it similar? Thanks
