2025 PING Bag Lineup?

Thanks for the update/confirmation. Yeah, I currently have a Pioneer but was looking to upgrade. Have always liked Ping bags so I was hoping to upgrade to the DLX. Finally decided to move to a Vessel Lux Pro.

Was pretty disappointed after checking out the 2025 Hoofer Lite and Moonlander bags.  I carry 11 clubs and like a minimal, non-bulky bag and thought the Moonlander would be the one.  Having tried them all, the best PING carry bag imo is the 2021-2022 Hoofer Lite or the 2017-2018 4 Series (pretty much the same bag).  Happy to have found a new 2022 Hoofer Lite on clearance.  Also stoked to be rid of the Jones Rover Stand bag.  It was OK, but this Hoofer Lite is more minimal with better pockets and dividers, and the legs snap back to the bag every time thanks to PING engineering.  Jones Rover Stand legs were sagging which is the worst.

Does the new model have the updated base internal seperator? Any feedback?

Functionality-wise it is the same bag as the new Hoofer Lite.  The 2021-2022 is just slimmer/ more minimal in appearance, and I much prefer the vertical PING graphics vs the 2025 look.  2025 looks bulky to me.

 

As @C_rad mentions above, the newer models have the base design with the separators but I don't think it makes much difference.  Keep in mind I only carry 11 clubs so tangle is just fine without the new base.

The new base does make a little bit of a difference.  I have both the current and previous models of Hoofer Lite.  I find that carrying or in a push cart (so when the bag is at a little angle) the grips do not bunch up at the bottom as the bag jostles around.  In that regard it does lessen the club tangle.

Thank you for the feedback. 
I know it is all subjective to each, but do you think it make an enough difference to justificate upgrading to the newer model?

It’s really hard to say.  For that feature alone, probably not.  It depends on your tolerance for Hoofer club tangle.  

 

For me the choice to get the new model was a bit more of a total package factor.  I like the pocket layout of the new model slightly more.  I like the secondary attachment loop up near the handle.  And I like the revamped opening and handle.  They are ever so slightly wider.  It makes a slight difference in room to put clubs in (which probably also marginally reduces club tangle) and I greatly prefer the wider, less round top cuff handle.  
 

These IMO really boils down to personal preference.  The new bag is definitely evolution not revolution.  The club tangle is lessened, but probably not enough to please those that it really bothers.

Thats interesting - one thing I didn’t like about the ‘22 was the towel situation always getting caught up in the legs.  On the new one they moved the loop around and added another.

 

this is all nitpicking, but that’s all you can do as HLs are the best bags, overall.

I could see that.  I don't use the towel hook, just have a big towel wrapped around clubs.

100%.  The Hoofer Lite with no white Mr. Ping and no tropical pattern is really disappointing, and I'm not sure what Ping is thinking with a couple of the ones they did release.  👎

I kinda hate all the color ways of the new  Ping Hoofer Lites. 
I bought my last one a few years ago with the space design. Actually, I’m not sure if that’s what it’s called, but I liked the color contrast.  It’s the first one I attached.  When I went to Europe, the airlines kind of bent the legs.  I’ve been carrying a Jones that I really love but it’s kinda like my “good bag” and not my everyday one.  Well, it became my every day one because I haven’t been able to find another Hoofer Lite color I liked. Played with a buddy today at his course and I love the blue. camo one. No clue what year it is, though anyone know? It just has the logo of the club on it, which I’m OK with.  no other anything else anywhere.  I missed these straps.

The pockets are definitely different on the one above from the stick photo I have.  That hoofer lite was a 2022 model.  The new one I have kinda has off-centered ball pocket and water bottle pockets.   I think they update every 2 years.  I just don’t know if mine is a 2025 or 2024.  Never seen the blue camo offering.  They had red camo and a black camo bag too, but I’m a sucker for blue.  Anyone know what year?

Looks like as soon as you were excited to get an older hoofer lite, you sold it on the BST?  What did you end up with?

I'm not sure the specific year but it doesn't really matter. This was a custom bag ordered from Ping by their club with their logo on it. If you order custom bags from Ping there is a minimum order of at least 3 bags and it takes like 6 months. They offer this color, blue camo and also black camo and red camo among other solid colors. Many have talked about going the custom bag route but the min order of 3 bags and the wait time usually deter people from following through. You would have to either keep all 3 bags, go in on it with a friend or sell the extras.

Hey there, just curious how you're finding the club tangle on this now that you've had it for couple of months.

Continually heard that the previous hoofer tour was the worst club tangle out of all the hoofers made in the past 5 years.

Very keen to get one of these but need to obviously compare this with the 5 way hoofer.

What do you like about this gen vs the newest? I thought they improved the divider system with the molded base in the newest version. Although I not a huge fan of the colorways I prefer the newer more minimal branding with the current model.

Just cosmetics, they're basically the same bag.  I like the vertical PING font on the sides, prefer the location of the valuables pocket, and prefer the more horizontally oriented range finder pocket (use this for tees, etc).  2021-2022 bag just looks slimmer to me.

 

I didn't notice much of a difference with the new base, but I carry 11 clubs or less so tangle is not an issue for me.

got email as I'm sure everyone else did of the new colors on the site. Think the heather grey/navy hoofer lite is decent in that lineup. Not sure what to think of the Blue Taupe in the regular hoofer, that is the only one that I think was interesting in that line. Still glad I got the online exclusive blackout one.

Im actually really pleased with the bag so far, its pretty dang good cart bag too.
 

Currently at 12 clubs with alignment sticks in there and no issues in the middle and bottom.  Top can get crowded, but I don’t recall any frustration with the bag at all.

I ordered a Ping Hoofer direct from Ping all Black (model 231)
Im sure its the latest one not sure of any changes but you can't go wrong with Hoofers

Well after considerable experimenting and deliberation I decided to return the DLX and stick with the Pioneer.  

 

In my opinion the DLX is missing an important pocket on the bottom front where the Pioneer has a ball pouch and a cooler pouch the DLX only has the cooler pouch.  Also the pocket above the cooler pouch is quite a bit smaller than the one on the Pioneer.

 

The pockets on the sides of the DLX are just too tight fitting for my liking and not as expandable as the Pioneer.  I can stuff about anything and everything into the Pioneers larger storage compartments but the DLX is a much tighter fit in my estimation.

 

These issues probably shouldn't be showstoppers for anyone that really likes the looks and function of the DLX but I've been riding with the Pioneers for a lot of years now and just like it better overall.

 

Went with the Cloud Camo as I found it to be the least offensive of what I think continue to be pretty underwhelming color choices and most importantly the least likely to discolor or fade in the sun.

 

I'll never understand why Ping can't treat their bags with whatever everybody else apparently uses to protect them from UV rays.  

 

I've never seen another brand of bag fade or discolor as fast as Pings do.

Just color options.  My gamer black Hoofer I got in the fall of 2023 is the same bag they sell now.

Pockets are slightly different. And legs are all black compared to before I believe that said Hoofer on them. That’s all I can tell.
