WRX OG- How far back?

This came up in another thread, and I thought it was interesting topic. How far back does one have to go to be a WRX OG? 

 

I feel like a tweener. Not really from the beginning, but have been around for a minute.

March of 2007 for me, but Forum was well established well before then.

The forum was started in 2005 IIRC. If you are pre 2010 I think you qualify as an OG.

 

I am 2008. Would certainly consider myself one. 

 

How many pre-2010 brosefs still post here regularly. Can't be THAT many.

Lol , I mean when I started posting here I lived in my parents house, had just broken up with the girlfriend before the girlfriend I dated before my wife ... (I have a 6yr old now)

 

I couldn't decide if I wanted a Ping Rapture V2. It was 599$ CAD and that was a big cost for me back then. That was my first post here. 

 

This year I've spent 599$ on pimp outfits to use for pictures to make a novelty stamp, which I use to certify charges at my private club.

Been here since 2011 when I was a junior golfer who was just beginning my club ho life ( I blame all of you) 

 

I’ve gone through spurts where I didn’t play the game for years or hadn’t visited the site. I feel like an old man saying it’s not like it used to be but each return to being here regularly I feel like it’s grown and changed a bunch. Not as many familiar faces outside of a couple corners. Maybe my most vivid memory of the site of yesteryears was liking every single post thrillhouse ever made. Was a great contributor to the site!

I've been a member here since April 17, 2005, member #49. I joined around the public opening of WRX after Richard(Easyyy) invited me to check it out. I was a member of GO, BSGolf and GD that are no longer around. Richard did leak to me that a new site was being formed that would blow other golf sites out of water, he is correct!!! The fact that WRX is still going strong shows how good of a job that Richard and Ryan has done.

I've only had a couple of warnings and I likely deserved a few more, but the instigator was usually more dastardly.

Joined in May of 2006 which was right after my sophomore year of college...my first posts were of me trying to figure out if I could hit the original Nike blades (the answer is obviously no). it all makes so much sense.

Warnings are like bumping your knee.

 

You aren't legit until you've tarred a roof while the mods watch and talk about how their no-good cousin only left them 35K

It's been so long I had to check to see that I joined in 09. only 1 warning that I can remember, and can't recall what it was for.

This was like a paradise for golf nuts.. cool gears for shockingly good price, really nice people who could engage in civil conversations and not drama after drama. Then scammers discovered this site.. then in comes a flood of younger generations.. all wanted to pay nothing for everything and argued about everything.. it got tiring really fast.

November 08 for me. I don’t think I’ve had any warnings, at least not that I remember. That ain’t saying much though, these days I have a hard time remembering what I had for breakfast this morning. 
 

I actually met another member on here for a round not long after I joined, and he has become one of maybe 5 people I consider friends. The night my first wife and I split up I slept on his couch, lol.

I am usually very careful about which threads I respond to now.  Some are just going to be one long argument.  Some will go on for 100's of pages (any Tiger thread) and once you post, you can't un-post.  And so many are just dumb.  I mean, how many times can someone ask if adjusting the loft will affect the bounce?

Been around here since 2007 and for the life of me I can’t remember how I stumbled across this site as I wasn’t a member or even a visitor of any of the other sites.  
 

It was probably something to do with swing theory as I generally stick to the instruction forum. As far as I’m concerned if you were around when slicefixer was posting, you are an OG of the instruction forum is concerned.

I joined in November 2005. I remember feeling like a noob then - I was on BSG a little bit, but only after I found this place, so I didn't have the history that some have. Consequently I'm not sure I'd consider myself OG. Feels like you need to have come here from the fall out from BSG to count.

Feb. 2008 for me and gosh I can't believe it's been that long. Many have come and gone in my 16+ years. It's good to see a lot of the OG's and core guys still around.
