WRX OG- How far back?

I think I’ve been here since 2007. Not a prolific poster. I read wrx just about every night, though.

I joined in the first year but used a different screen name. I had a small putter distributorship and was one of the early sponsors on WRX. I changed my screen name to touch in February 2007 when I got out of the business. 

I'm one of the old guys. I love this place.

I couldn't decide if I wanted a Ping Rapture V2. It was 599$ CAD and that was a big cost for me back then. That was my first post here. 

 

This year I've spent 599$ on pimp outfits to use for pictures to make a novelty stamp, which I use to certify charges at my private club.

That was by far the most insanity I’ve ever seen. Wrx is far more subdued these days.

I still remember reading the story when i got to work....it was a simpler time, no push notifications etc....I remember thinking "I wonder how many pages the WRX thread is at already"....in my head i thought maybe 10-15

How many pre-2010 brosefs still post here regularly. Can't be THAT many. 

January 2006, actually joined late in 2005, and abandoned that account and started this one.   I sill read/post daily.    I came here after The Golf Channel DB had it's last and fatal crash. Was on that for a few years prior.   I tried BSG, but only for a very short time and then heard all the cool kids were moving over here!   

 

So here I am!  Many years, and won't even mention how many dollars later!

I wasn't working in the golf industry when I joined, but I was supporting it fully with my equipment purchases.   Funny at that time I was a devoted Cleveland Golf guy, playing the CG2 and CG4 and just about every driver they came out with.    Now ironically 19 years later now in the golf industry for 10 years, I'll be going on staff with Srixon/Cleveland in 2025.   It's like going home again!

January 2008 for me. I still visit the site pretty much every day.  I don’t want to hijack the thread, but thinking back over all the years there have been a couple of truly classic threads. Whatever happened to that guy (username included the name, Bob) who would come onto any thread and basically say the same thing regarding a certain club. And I can’t even remember what club it was but he was very high on it.  Oh it was the SLDR-C!!!!!!

... August of 2012 - its been fun being active in the first 8 years and lurking in more recent times.  This is easily the 2nd best website for golf on the internet behind Paige Spirinac's private site.  I love her tips.

I joined on June 1, 2005. Was pretty active back in the GEA days, and also used to frequently visit bombsquadgolf. I have some fond memories of playing in the GEA Washington vs Oregon events. When I moved to Louisiana, I played in a few GEA outings. I've been in SC since 2006. Played for a few years, hurt my back and hung the clubs up for 12 years. Just lost interest and other pursuits took my time.  I've got the itch again, though.

 

I pulled my clubs out and cleaned them up a couple of weeks ago. Got some new grips on the way. Started a p90x routine and put myself on a diet. I've lost 15 pounds in 2.5 weeks and hope to be down to my target weight by Christmas. 

 

It's hard to believe its been so long since I last played. My last scorecard was still in my yardage book. A decent 73 at Furman. I'm definitely going to have to replace every club in my bag.

I can’t remember if I got banned from there or not. I do remember that to get banished from bombsquad was quite a badge of honor.

July 14th, 2005 according to my profile. Came from BSG as well. Still have an Adams 4060 3 wood (og aldila green 75 stoff) and the Adams proto hybrid (but traded away the lime green ozik and reshafted) bought from there. Got an itch yesterday to take them to range to see how they do 😄 at least the Ozik wasn’t the mega expensive one…

I came over at the inception and was previously regularly on BSG and GO. It was perfect timing as BSG in particular had become “challenging”. Think it was ‘05. Took a long hiatus and returned in 2020.

I just regripped my irons. Bladegolf Tf-2 (Miura m-5002s) with silk screened satin Project x 7.0 soft stepped once. 3-pw 

 

My driver is a Bladegolf x380 with a green Aldila NV 65s tipped some (don’t remember how much; 44”.

I don’t know what I did with my 3 wd. My gamer for years was a Sonartec. I do have a Mizuno mp-001 15* with a project x satin shaft in it, but that was my backup.

Great question. Honestly don’t remember. All I know for certain is I was gone long enough that when I returned my account was gone 🤷🏼‍♂️
