One set of irons for the rest of your days....What you bagging?

If they're for the rest of my life, then forged are out.  I am currently gaming Ping G430's and have a set of BeCu Eye2's I sometimes play.  Either one would work as my forever set.

Titleist 735CM with ProForce 115 graphite in R flex.  Stainless, so I don’t have to deal with chrome wear.  Just working on modifying the current length in the shorter irons with some extensions.

Ping Zing2 for me.  Super forgiving and I could flight them low or high when needed.  The 52 degree sand wedge was a weapon for me.

I’m not sure I could do it!  While I’ve had my current set 4+ years and the one prior about the same, I experiment annually. This year I’ve tried two other sets which didn’t kick them out and am shopping for a third.  My ability level stays pretty constant, so equipment changes is how I entertain myself.   It’s a sickness…but this site reassures me I’m not alone.

It is a sickness. I was better this year, I only bought 6 sets of irons and I sold 4 of them.😅

My nike v10 david Duval personal use irons he gamed for a few years and used at the us open at bethpage. Pured X100 sensicore. Never played better golf since these went in the bag.

I’m absolutely enamored with my JDM Tourstage x-blade 705s with factory regular graphite shafts. So doggone easy to score with them and generally 2 clubs longer than the ZX-7s they replaced.  
 

Metal woods? Srixon ZX LS and fairways. Longest and easiest for me to hit well.

It’s tempting to say a timeless forged club like blueprint s but I would have to realistically say some kind of players distance iron like pxg 0311t or i530 to blend looks and power/forgiveness. Assuming I don’t have to worry about replacing any possibly caved in faces in this scenario

Snagged my 709MCs off eBay for under $300.  I've a spare set bookmarked for purchase JIC. 😅  When I rocketed a 6 iron 185 to the green and stopped it dead in the first round with them, I was convinced. I don't think I'd ever hit a 7 iron over 160 in 50 years of play until these got in the bag.

Right now I’m gaming a combo Proto Concepts set.  I’ve got the T05’s and the T03’s.  I would have a tough time picking a set better than these to last the rest of my life.  Not because I think they are the best irons ever made, or anything like that, but just because they have really good attributes for a lot of different player types.  They feel great but are not an intimidating size.  They have enough tech to help but are designed so looks and feel are not compromised.  The lofts are a touch strong compared to blades or classic cavities but still very “normal”.  
Other irons that come to mind are the Apex Pro 19’s.  Those were really good for me and Check a lot of the same boxes that the Protos do.  Good looking and feeling but not too small to be unplayable as I age.  Cobra King Tours would be another option I would consider.

It would be really tough for me not to say the Wilson FG Tour V6's! Those were the best irons I have ever played and I would still do anything to have a good set of them! 

Honorable mention goes to the Nike Vapor Pro Combos! Those things were incredible!

I love my current setup, I did love the TM 300 Forged irons, if I find a nice set, I will buy and keep forever...
