We tend to speak in superlatives every time we get something new, but the TSR2 is such a good driver, that it is really hard to say that the GT2 is dramatically better.

Well stated. While I do believe the GT2 is an upgrade in consistency, I wouldn’t see the value if I were on a shoestring budget

I did a Titleist fitting on 10/17. Swing speed 100-103. Was playing a tsi3 and was fit into a GT3 with a 50 gram Project X Denali Red stiff. GT3 felt much better than the tsi3 gained about 8 - 10 yards. Higher ball flight. Haven’t pulled the trigger on ordering the GT3.

Hit GT3 against my TSi3 and didn't see one bit of actual difference.  I like the sound of TSi3 more, so looks like I'm staying put.

Hmmm...I thought that the GT2 head was deeper than the TSR2, same with the fairways...IDK

Measured both the GT2 11* head and TSR2 11* head this morning with a tape measure.  The TSR2 11* head is 1/16" taller, in the middle, than they GT2.

Maybe that's not across all lofts of the GT2; maybe they made the GT2 11* slightly shallower in the 11* head to give us slower swing speed guys a little help getting the ball launched higher.

I get to hit both again this afternoon, but trying each with a Ventus TR Red 5R2 senior shaft.

My GT2 is not quite as deep as the TSR but barely less.

I tried the Denali Blue that I had ordered with it and thought I would prefer the GD UB6 but I tried the Denali blue and love it with the GT2 head.

Keep in mind this is my opinion but I played the TSR2 for 2 seasons.  20% more forgiveness is when I hit it on the toe or heel and and distance lost.  Also I have a right miss than went offline 20 or 30 yards with TSR and with GT is 10 to 20.  Maybe you are a better ball striker than me and didn't see the differences I did?  Certainly not bashing the TSR2 because I loved it but GT2 is gonna help my game.

As far as someone's comment on Titleist just catching up, I think the GT line went by a lot of others not just catching up.

This is my experience as well (GT vs. TSR). Spin consistency with a slight heel miss (my miss) is very tight and therefore GT is significantly more confidence inspiring and I see significantly better results with a slight miss. GT is hot, flies flat and boring. TSR3 (a driver I still love, recommend, and said was the best driver I had ever owned prior to GT) is a spin monster (3100) from a slight heel strike which kept me somewhat tentative in some pressure moments. However, a slight miss with GT remains in the 2500-2700 range strike for strike with that (slight) miss, 2000-2200 out of center face. Additionally, GT just plain feels very hot. Strongly recommend the GT series for those looking (TSR as second suggestion). For background, I played two seasons with TSR and I've had my GT since end-July.

I just switched from a 10 TSi3 to a 10 GT2. I was most impressed by how straight it flew. Even on misses it held its line really well. Spin was also down slightly across the board during my fitting. Best shots I didn’t see much of a difference (TSi is such a fast driver), but was seeing a little higher flight and significantly less curvature on a miss (both heel and toe side). Also love the feel of the GT, felt more solid.

Just finished my 3rd 9 hole outing with the GT2 9* with Ventus blue

Have been gaming a qi10 LS or Original Sim with Diamana D+ Limited

Hard to get a read on total yardage as our courses are just out of overseed and slightly softer than normal but I am seeing some serious carry yardage and it flies high and straight. I normally play a small fade and I have to work a little harder to make this one tail off right like normal but it seems to be hot off the face and a high but not spinny flight.

Overall I think this is going to be a full time gamer but more testing is needed.

I have really liked my Ping g430 LST. Can anyone compare the GT2 to the Ping g430 lst in terms of distance and forgiveness?

Played my new Gt2 8 degree with graphite design VF 6TX a couple times this week. Honestly, i think this may be one of the worst drivers i have ever hit. The shaft feels great, but this driver on toe strikes nose dives just like my old SLDR 430 did.

granted i am coming from a g400 max with a pro orange 70TX, so i am spoiled for forgiveness, but this GT2 seems by far the worst off the toe out of any of the modern drivers i have hit including g430LST, taylor made Q and Q LS, and even TSR3.

anyone else finding the same?

I’m only a couple rounds into the GT2, 10 degree with Tensei Blue, but find it to be very forgiving and longer than the 430 Max 10k I was playing. My partners asked if I was hitting a new driver, partly because of the sound, but also because I was driving so much further consistently than before.  So far I’m enjoying it.

I've not found that.. I'm sorry you're not getting along with it. It could be that there's not enough weight towards the toe in the GT2, like the GT3 is? Maybe you could trade someone for a GT3 head?

There is a lot you can say about your own driver fitting that will fall somewhere in the spectrum of "opinion", and as such nobody can really argue with you if they see different in their own experience.

However when you say an absolutely wild (and made up numbers) statement like "forgiveness is 20% better"? Now you're open for criticism. The GT2 has a lower and more forward CG position than TSR2. It is objectively and factually a LESS forgiving head with lower MOI.

Is Titleist saying that they purposely made a less forgiving driver in the GT line? What’s their rationale to the lower MOI?

Everyone would find the same results if they couldn’t spin a driver enough to keep it in the air.

First off, I have pretty much used Titleist drivers for the last 20 years. Notable favorites are 983, 910 D2 and TSR2.

Without a doubt the GT2 is best Titleist driver I’ve hit. TSR is very good and would be happy to play it but GT2 just does everything a little better.

GT2 feel is almost like forged feel.

Spin is about 200 less than TSR.

Forgiveness is about 20% better.

Looks wise similar to TSR2 but just a bit more refined.

Flight is a little higher with more carry than TSR2.

Distance is about half a club longer “5 to 7” yards on center strikes but if you add in forgiveness on off center strikes the advantage it is more than that.

Both TSR and GT are 44.75 length GD UB6 shaft.

Late to the party here but having sworn off buying a GT2 in favour of keeping my TSR2 until changing my mind last weekend and having booked a fitting for today, this is just the kind of review that I was needing to read 😂

I'd have better luck using that combo as a putter than a driver.

There's no industry wide definition for forgiveness.   For some, it's the size of the sweet sport, some will base it on CG location, others will use MOI.

Titleist is of the belief that MOI isn't the be all end all and for some too much can limit other areas like speed.

Ping has done something similar with the G440 Max, where it has slightly lower MOI than the 430 in order to gain more speed.   If maximum MOI is what's needed, they still have the 10K.

Yes: GT3 vs TSI3 and TSR3 was for me all so similar that I couldn't really justify an upgrade.

GT2 though was immediately better on dispersion and forgiveness without sacrificing anything.  I did put in a lighter weight AND add lead tape closer to the face to lower spin slightly.

I would expect that loft for loft spin would be similar… I say that because I know a lot of guys went up* in loft moving from TSR to GT, which kind of infers GT is lower spin generally. Best way to know is to hit up a demo!

Gt3 was more forgiving for me than TSr3.

I lofted up to 10.0 degrees in a gt3 which is more loft than I have ever played as a high launch, high spin player.  Good shots spin somewhere around 23-2500, low spin shots end up around 2k and high spin heel or low strikers don’t get much past 2800 or much is great.

gt2 was noticeable more stable, but spin was 500 k higher across all shots.

I’m continuing to see less spin with my 10 GT2 than with my 10 TSi3. Probably due to the better spin on the miss hits in the heel. TSi spikes up where the GT2 stays sub 2,500. It’s probably 300 rpm lower on average. Excited to get it outside, but will probably be playing indoor golf for another 6 weeks…

IMO managing spin (and by that I mean - keeping spin down) is the biggest thing that is improving with drivers the last 5ish years. Some might argue it's about the only thing that has been improving.
