What driver combo you ending the year with?

Smoke TD 10.5 set to -2. PX Hulk 6.5 70 tipped 1".  Still messing with a G430 10k and have a 24 Ventus black 6x for it en route to test this winter.  I'll test the G440 and usually the latest Callaway thanks to the double trade in.

Started the year with TSR2 10', moved to GT3 10' and surprised myself by switching to the new Callaway Rogue ST Max 10.5 in Oct.  Sure glad I am able to switch sleeves so Ventus Velo TR Blue 5 series could come along on the adventure.  Go figure, I've been an all Titleist guy for many years.

Titleist GT2  8° (13-gram / +4-gram rear weight) / Graphite Design Tour AD-VF 6S Stiff shaft (-1/2)" Shaft - Set to B1 (occasionally set to C1 depending on my swing).  I also currently have 1.75 grams of tungsten tape added to the back of my 13-gram rear weight (because it feels better with more weight).

GT3 with Ventus TR Blue 6S (tipped 1/2”) and weight in T1. Head is super fast and I hit it straighter than the GT2. Hopefully the Ping doesn’t get too good of reviews so I won’t be tempted!

Played almost the entire season with a G430 LST, Ventus Red TR.

 

I picked up a Srixon ZK5 MII LS in September to see if it could kick the Ping out. End of season results were encouraging. Let's see what simulator season brings.

Started with g425 max with stock cb55 regular shaft.

got a sim 2 max with blue ventus 5 stiff at some point mid way through. 
ended up with both in the bag at the end. Thinking they may both get a 1” trim over the winter and see what happens.

I started the year with my Tour Edge C721 10.5 driver w/Ventus Red 50r.

 

I recently changed to the Tour Edge E725 10.5 driver w/Ventus Red 50r.

I played a G400 Max with an AD XC shaft for 90% of the season, but when the 430 Max dropped in price, I picked one up with a Kaili White. I was tempted to go with the 10K, but I didn't like how the head looked compared to the regular Max head.

 

The true test will have to wait until next season, but the 430 Max was quite promising in the 3 or 4 rounds I played with it here in the fall.

Started the season with a Rogue ST Max, Tensei Blue combo. Ended up with a Rogue ST Max LS, Hzrdus Smoke Green IM10 combo which I fully intend on playing next season. The new stuff I tried just doesn't have anything better to offer than my current combo.

Rogue ST Max LS with Ventus Black + 6X. Played it in the fall and honestly don’t see any tremendous downside to it compared to anything else I tried this year. Only thing I miss is sliding weight so TSR3 will likely be bought in the spring.

Feels stupid to just take a flyer like that but hey, I am dumb. 

I’ll be the second Mizuno driver. ST Max 9.5 with a Tensei AV Blue stiff.  I’m hitting 74-78% of my fairways and 240-260 ish on my highs and lows. I’m happy with it. Most forgiving driver I’ve ever owned.

Qi10 core 9° @8.25° with a ventus black 7x tipped 1 playing 44.5. Been a great combo overall for me since trying it out.

Would like to try the dot out but I can’t make myself buy one at what they go for.

TSR3 10 degree with Ventus Blue 6x. I started the year with it and will end with it. I’ve had the shaft since the OG Ventus group here back in 2019. It’s been in 3 different titleist heads and just works. I dread the day it breaks!

 

I can see myself buying a GT3 head over the winter and plugging this shaft into its 4th head.

Second this! Weirdly enough, I went all year with the stz 230 in white with the standard 5.5 hzrdus blue… SS with driver is around 113 but I hit it good all year so just leaving it as is lol being in the fairway 90% of the time outweighs my pride. This driver is no joke.

Ping G400 55g stiff alta shaft and a Titleist tsi3 that I swapped out the Fubuki K 70g with a pro launch blue 45g with pretty good results. Did a Titleist fitting and they had me in the GT3 10* with the 50 gram Denali Red but haven’t pulled the trigger on that.

The E725 is something special. Worth a look. I wouldn't count out the C725 either.

Cobra dark speed x 9°-Mamiya Lin-Q white 6f4 shaft. 
 

I started with a Wilson D9 driver but went for a 3 wood fitting and ended up liking the three wood so much that I got the driver to match. I probably won’t change next year since I just got this one and really like it

Cause they suck.  Having your customers do your R&D on a product that doesn’t live for anyone with speed is a junk product.  Not a fan of the “carbonwood age” at all - this is coming from someone who still has a M3 head that has 1000’s of range hours and hundreds of rounds on it.  I want to see the tour trailers head pile of cracked faces or faces that have popped.  I won’t even mention the delaminating

Aerojet 9.0 with Kai’li White 60S, stock length. I switched to it in March when they went on sale and I’ve been driving it better than I ever have since then.

 

But because I’m a ho, I’m flirting with the idea of picking up a G430 Max 10k with either the Tour Black or Chrome. There’s no reason for this other than that I like Ping and am interested in getting a Ping driver back in the bag, despite loving my current driver.

It’s going to take an unbelievable effort to get my GT3 8* out of the bag. I loved TSR3, I played it for two years. GT3 is a revelation, comparatively. It flies hot, flat, and launches high — and most importantly doesn’t spin up with my miss (slight into heel) vs. TSR3 (spin monster, strike for strike, slight into heel)… paired with Ventus TR Black 6x, my favorite shaft of all-time, which I’ve owned since release.
