Super Stroke counterweight query

Please don’t ‘judge’ 😀 but I carefully removed the stock ‘full contact’ stock grip that came with my Scotty Phantom 7.5 and fitted a Superstroke Zenergy Tour 2.0 (my preferred putter grip style). The stock Scotty grip is (I think) 83g whereas the Tour 2.0 is 57g. Is it worth putting in the Superstroke counterbalance 25g weight kit to bring the grip back up to the stock Scotty weight?

I've immediately swapped out grips on Scotties the day I got them

 

as for the wt question.  Plenty of people will tell you that much wt will screw up the swingwt.

I think it's all personal preference

I've never added wt to the putter or grip end due to a grip change FWIW

Thanks BYK. I’m probably just over thinking it. I’ve never added weight in the past but as mulling it over before I glue a Shot Scope tag on the end of the putter as I don’t think the screw on the tag will work with the zenergy system.

Yah, I wouldn't stress it too much

I'm a 11.5 guy, so love the phantom line

Not a super big fan of the new phantoms except the 9.5

I put a Superstroke with a 25g counterbalance on my Phantom X5 to counter my tendency to take it back a little outside.  Love it.  I haven't swingweighted it but it feels perfect.

The countercore weight will help reduce face rotation.  That could be good. May not be. The weights are like $15. I'd buy one and go to the practice green and compare no weight to weight...

Hit 10 putts each from those distances and record which setup was best. Find 8-10 footers that break left and right and compare there too. 

 

Whichever makes the most putts, wins.

So I am gong down this rabbit hole also, Just got the Zenergy Pistol Lock 2.0 and got the 25g weight also. What did you end up with?

So I also went with the 25g weight. Love the balanced feel It gives me. Could I have putted as well without the weight? Possibly, but I’ve never regretted adding the weight and never even thought about removing it.

I cut the 25g weight in half to give me a weight right at 12g. 25g was too heavy. The 12g is perfect for me. Gives me just a slight bit of added face control while not overly weighting up the grip end (which causes pulls for me).

Awesome, I am about to start that experiment when I decide on a extension to the shaft.
