Recent Quad club data issues

Wanting to see if anyone else has had recent issues with their Quad not picking up club data? I have been a BLP user since launch and upgraded to a QuadMax in March when they released. Up until about 2 months ago, club data worked pretty much flawlessly on the Quad as well as the BLP before it. They rarely ever had a misread or no read, however a few months ago I started noticing my Quad missing a lot of club data readings. I use 4 dot stickers on my 7 iron and driver and one dot on everything else. 3/4 times my driver will pick up only 1 dot data and maybe 1/5 times it's giving me swing speeds that are 10mph too high. 1 dot clubs read maybe half the time.

 

I know most of the time this type of issue is related to the environment but my sim has not changed in the last three years. Ball data always works great. I've tried Foresight and aftermarket stickers, black shoes (white shoes were never an issue previously), etc etc. My main concern is something has gone wrong with my unit so I was curious to see if anyone else has experienced something similar and if so, what ended up happening? I have a message into Foresight but have not yet received a response. If anyone has any suggestions that might not be obvious, I haven't totally ruled out user error I just don't know what it could be.

Are the lenses clean? They get dirty over time. See the manual on cleaning them (I think it's a clean, dry, lint-free cloth but again, check, don't take my word for it).

 

I've seen some speculation that on the Quad they pulled the last software release because the four-dot-data got better, at the cost of the one-dot-data getting worse. But I haven't seen the same said for the QuadMAX or even that it's really been corroborated or verified for the Quad. Only speculation at this point.

Fresh dots and make sure the ball is in the hitting zone.  Mistrikes on the stickers renders them useless pretty quick.  Note, the hitting zone for ball only data is bigger than the hitting zone for club data.

I've been swapping out stickers and try to keep everything in the middle of the zone. It's just weird because I'm not doing anything different now compared to the last few years.

That's something I will check out a little more in-depth. I did look to make sure there weren't any spider webs or anything obvious but it might be worth a proper cleaning to be sure. Quad had a firmware update in late October that is still the current version and was supposed to improve sticker recognition but I didn't notice any improvement after updating.

Indoor. I think I am going to take it to the range though and see if I have better luck outside.

For an update to anyone reading this, I did some experimenting earlier today. First, I cleaned off the cameras with a lint free towel, then cleaned my club face and applied a new Foresight brand sticker. I also placed a large cardboard barrier behind me to make sure there wasn't some unknown environmental reflection or something behind me. Hit a few balls in the sim and received no club data on my 8 iron at all. Then I decided to take it outside and hit off a little hitting mat I have to be extra sure there wasn't something inside causing issues and also received no club data there either. Went back inside for a few more and same results.

 

Played a round on GSPro tonight and had some reads and a lot of no reads. Ball data works every time. At this point I am convinced it is a hardware issue and sent a message to Foresight yesterday but have not had a response so far. Assuming I will need to send it in for service but will see what they say and report back.

That certainly is concerning.  Because you have a QuadMAX and not an OG Quad, I believe the firmware is different for each.  
 

How has your 4-dot data capture been on your MAX?   Because if your MAX is capturing 4-dot data well, it may not be a hardware issue, but firmware.

I've had issues with 4 dot data too. I only use it on my 7 iron and driver....the 7 iron can be hit or miss if I don't change the lower stickers which is common problem and the reason I don't want to use the 4 dot setup on all my clubs. Before these issues started it was pretty consistent unless one of the stickers was obviously dirty or damaged.

 

With the driver, I get club data every time but rarely do I get the 4 dot data. Most of the time it's only one dot and sometimes I'm getting club head speeds that are around 10mph too high.

 

I did finally hear back from Foresight today. After sending them a picture of my driver 4-dot setup and 8 iron single-dot, their response was the driver looked good but I was missing three dots on the iron and sent me instructions on where to place them. lol. We'll get there eventually I hope!
